Here’s what Eurasian Cranes SFX library creator David Moroz has to say about the library:
“The Eurasian Cranes library was a big challenge to record. Eurasian Cranes, or Common Cranes, as they’re also known, are big, beautiful birds that are easily startled. It took me several tries – and around 1 million mosquito bites – to record these majestic animals. All the sounds have HPF set to about 100Hz with high slope, because of the distant trains passing by from time to time. It doesn’t affect the sound of the cranes, as there’s no informations in low spectrum range. When I got to the location I was alone, with just few ducks around. The cranes arrived later, in groups counting from 30 to 200 birds and there ended up being almost 1500 of them. Eurasian Cranes was recorded with a Sound Devices 702 and 2 Oktavas MK012 set in ORTF. Everything was set up in the reed, in deep mud, and the Cranes were standing about 40 meters away. As usual all the files was tagged in ProTools 11 for quick and easy access.”
