Home Weapon Sound Effects Page 3
Weapon sound effects from all sorts of weapons – from recorded guns and rifles, to swords, designed futuristic lasers, explosives and much more
Alchemy of Blades is a comprehensive weapon laboratory of single layers made to be mixed, assembled and fit with each other.
We built the library as an array of modular blocks, designed to be mixed and matched according to everyone’s specific formula, primarily serving as building tools for designing kinesis and special effects on your blade sounds, but it can be very well be used for spells and futuristic weapons.
We also included a bonus folder containing the Xfer Serum presets we made while working on the samples.
Audiobeast is proud to present our first sample library; the first library of its kind to focus entirely on weapons being fired in interior spaces!
The London Warehouse Weapons Library contains over 6 GBs of weapons being fired in a large warehouse, medium warehouse, stairwell, office and small room. 291 WAV files all recorded at 96 khz 24 bit, with heaps of information on microphones used and distance from the firearms.
Various distances were captured, from the DPA4062 on the guns themselves, to the distant other end of the warehouse 50 metres away. To add, some mics were positioned behind doors and walls to capture the occluded gunfire.
As well as all the firing we’ve included all the foley as well, because while convolution reverb is great, nothing beats actual content!
Minimal cleanup on the recordings was carried out very carefully by Steve Whetman in his room at Pinewood Studios, so as not to introduce any artefacts into the recordings, they are presented as raw as possible.
Due to safety restrictions it was not possible to fire the bigger weapons in the smaller spaces, the ceiling was shaking while recording the Assault Rifle in the office and stairwell and came close to collapsing. Physically the Browning M2 .50 calibre Machine Gun would not even fit on the stairwell or in the small room.
A collection of shots fired using a 12 Gauge Remington 870 Wingmaster shotgun. This library also includes a few bonus tracks of shots fired using a Thompson Rifle muzzleloader and a Barnett Crossbow.
The whole 9 yards.

Recording of a 105mm Howitzer cannon from World War II firing blanks. The library consists of about 20 channels with distances and perspectives ranging from 0 to 150 meters, and a big variation of microphones and recorders used, such as Sound Devices and Zaxcom. It contains 5 shots and wild foley.
Blades is a collection of 54 audio files containing a whopping 260 individual audio clips. This collection gives you sheath sounds, blade scrapes, clanks, hits, schings, and yes, even scissors snipping. Best of all, if you need 10 sword hits in the scene, you only have to import one or two tracks.
The Gun Shell sound effects library features a comprehensive collection of sounds made with empty gun shell casings. Including 12 different shell types, 7 surfaces, and a huge amount of takes (3600+ files in total), this library is more than just a collection of falling shell sounds. It includes shells colliding with each other, rolling, bouncing, being picked up, and more.
These expressive little sounds can add the essential detail in your project, or you can use them creatively to craft totally new sound effects layers for weapons or item/coin pick up. Ammo box handling foley and bullet belt link sounds are also included.
Included calibers / shell types:

Recorded in a quiet studio environment in 96 kHz / 24 bit, these well-edited and meta-tagged sound clips make it easy to add the perfect gun shell sounds in your projects. In addition to a massive amount of variations of shells falling on different surfaces, the sounds are useful for sweetening bullet impacts, creating collect/pick up sound assets, and pitch-shifting them to create totally new sci-fi weapons.
An informative PDF spec sheet is included with a lot of details about the shells. There you can easily find example firearms using the specific cartridge to accurately match the correct shell sounds with the guns in your projects.
The library comes in two versions: One with multiple takes in a single audio clip, the other has a new audio clip for each shell drop. Both versions are included with this library.

Audiobeast is proud to present our second sample library; the only library of its kind to focus entirely on weapons being fired in urban environments! For this recording session we were given access to a military training site known as a FIBUA (Fighting In Built-Up Area) consisting of streets with a variety of buildings, vehicles, and exclusive permission to fire weapons in several locations. Pictures of the street and gas station locations and firing points are included.
The aim of this library was to offer the slapback type tails needed for gun sound design for convincing city scenes in film, games and tv production. It’s always been difficult to find gun recordings in a city environment so we hope this library helps sound people everywhere.
This Library contains over 3 GBs of weapons being fired in multiple urban environments, a street, outside of a gas station and inside of a tower block. 218 WAV files of single shots, bursts and many with multiple takes, all recorded at 96 khz 24 bit, with heaps of information on microphones used and distance from the firearms.
Various distances were captured, from the DPA4062 on the guns themselves, to the distant other end of the street 100 metres away. To add, some mics were positioned around corners, a nearby graveyard, through walls and in armored vehicles to capture a variety of perspectives.
Minimal cleanup on the recordings was carried out very carefully so as not to introduce any artefacts into the recordings, they are presented as raw as possible.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!

I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
