Aircraft - Jet/Propeller Plane Sound Effects

Airplane sound effects: Fighter jets, commercial airliners, vintage planes, drones

  • The LAX Aircraft library features descending aircraft flyovers at Los Angeles International Airport. One advantage of LAX is that it’s nestled in the city, making it easy to stand directly under very low flying airplanes to capture a great sound.

A range of aircraft was recorded for this release, including the Airbus A330, Boeing 737, 747, and Bombardier 800.

Two different microphone positions were used: One facing the oncoming aircraft, and the other pointing in the opposite direction to capture the flyover and further decent as the aircraft lands.

  • Inside an airplane cockpit, we captured control manipulation sounds (knobs, levers, switch…), alarms, and ambiences.

Recorded from a 737 cabin, with the help of a certified pilot. Get maneuver sounds with original and ‘cleaned’ version (from background noise); but also ‘loopeable’ ambiences. See file list.

  • “PWL08: Ambisonic Overview : USA – WEST COAST AIRPORT & FLIGHT” is a collection of sounds recorded between 2 airports of the west coast of the USA: Los Angeles, and Oakland. As a bonus, we put in the library sounds recorded at the Paris Airport (France).
The library includes also sounds recorded during the flights between these 3 airports in four different planes: one Boing 787, one Boing 789 Dreamliner, one Airbus A319, and one Airbus A320.

We were recording in many places inside the airports: Ticket place, gate place, security check, waiting room, near a restaurant, bar, dutyfree shop, etc…
And also inside the planes: before take-off, security announcement, take-off, landing, room tone, ambiance during the flight, passenger walla, Captain and crew PA System

    – The soundbank contains 64 sound takes recorded in 24 Bit / 96 kHz for a total duration of 388 minutes of original sound, decline in 192 files

  • Rare close-up recordings of a blimp engine (2x Goodyear with 154 kW) .

A unique propeller motor with a well-known and reconizable sound.

I was able to spend a short time during an engine test with one of the few airships in the world, a WDL blimp in Essen, Germany. The engine performed three different constant RPMs and all the transitions plus some additional rev-ups. I was able to record the noises with up to three mono mics (one on the engine and the other two a bit further away) and a stereo set up (onboard in the cabin most of the time). Check the file list for details.

In addition I recorded one ambience with a fly-by and the cabin doors opening and closing, some knobs being pushed and the air valve operating.

All files meta-tagged and use the UCS naming system.

  • Travel & Transportation Vintage Air Travel Play Track 109 sounds included, 54 mins total $7.50

Vintage Air Travel – Planes, airports, stewardesses, pilots, announcements and more.

This pack contains some of the sounds associated with vintage air travel. Not a specific decade (some parts will be suitable for a contemporary setting), but think of the film ‘Catch Me If You Can’, 60s 70s 80s. An era when smoking was still allowed on planes, when PAN AM and TWA ruled the skies. I have created these ambiences, voices and sounds to suit that era.
There are two ‘tourist information’ tapes, based on the audio that would have accompanied a slide show for visitors to London and Los Angeles.
There are public address announcements that you might hear in an airport.
There’s stewardess VO as heard in the cabin of a jumbo jet and stewardess greetings as you board. A few pilot announcements, sounds of busy jumbo jets in-flight from a passenger perspective. A ride in a Cessna, with pilot chatter, planes passing overhead and more. For a full list of sounds, view the excel document, and play the preview file for a taster.

The name is bird scarer with gas cannon.

  • The Aircraft Ambient Sound Effects library features jets, planes, and vintage fighters flying in the distance with a sense of spaciousness.

  • The library was recorded during the flying session of a 78-cc 2-stroke engine-powered paramotor. We were lucky with the weather and with the absence of the wind.

The vehicle had 2 Dpa 4061’s microphones placed one in the back near the engine, the other channel was hidden on the lower left side. This configuration of microphones flew 4 sessions until switching to recording one microphone placed on the engine for the last two sessions. Both channels were recorded by Audio Limited A10 recorders while performing various maneuvers totaling over 37 minutes of air time. On the ground I used Sennheiser 8060 to capture vehicle’s starts, idling, passes, and landings. The library has both close and distant perspectives of flybys.

  • Brazillian Airports & Plane Journeys is a comprehensive collection of various ambiences and environments. All of the main areas of the airports are covered, including check-in, baggage check, food halls and departure gates. In addition to this, all of the major interior plane phenomena such as coasting, take off, landing and in flight are also included.

The majority of sound files in the library are over ten minutes in length, giving you a huge pool to source your audio from.

With Brazilian Airports & Plane Journeys you will never be left wanting for airport or passenger ambiences again.

    • 110 files
    • 700+ performances
    • 3.75 Gb of sound
    • 24 bit / 96 Khz
    • fully filled UCS metadata
  • Airports & Planes is 120 minutes/3.90 Gb of ambiance recordings from a variety of international airports around the world, as well as airplane interiors. 48 separate files – recorded in 24bit/96kHz A-B stereo. All sounds are UCS-compatible

Airport & Planes was recorded between 2015-2018, in airports from Rome to Qatar, and in a variety of large capacity commercial passenger craft.
It presents modern air travel from the passenger perspective, covering everything from airport shopping areas and security checks, to
taxiing, takeoff, cruising and landing – with and without passenger walla, rummaging with luggage compartments and seat belt buckles.

It was all recorded stealth style, but nevertheless delivers lots of different perspectives and variation. Room tones from airplane interiors
come in different timbres (read: flavors of background noise), ranging from the tonally dry and flat, to rumbling and wheezing.

You will also find spoken announcements in various languages from English to Japanese; in both airports and onboard planes.
The characteristic bell or ping accompanying announcements in flight is also included, in two different versions:
One was isolated from an actual recording, while the other was synthesized to match the first, but sounding cleaner.

As a tasty little bonus, I’m throwing in a couple interiors from a bona-fide airliner lavatory.

All in all, lots of suitcase wheels, rolling sidewalks and whooshy airplane tones.
