Vehicle sound effects and recordings – cars, helicopters, motorcycles, airplanes, ships, trains and sci-fi
Immerse yourself in the second library of the Ambisonics series by USO. These “Runaway Trains” were recorded with a Senneheiser Ambeo and a Sonosax R4+ in and around the Milano Greco Pirelli railway station, which is part of the so-called “Milan Circle Line,” a railway loop which circumnavigates the city.
The library contains a lot of passing trains and ambient sounds recorded very close to the railway, both by day and by night. There has been no further processing, although I did carefully remove all the Italian P.A. announcements, to make life easier for the editors during the sound montage.
A useful bonus, too: you will find some ready-to-use backgrounds as “airfill” between the passing trains to create continuity in a longer scene, if need be. The ambient sounds are also great as a standalone!
A collection of high-quality stereo audio recordings capturing trains at speed in the United Kingdom.
Features:
Streets and stop signs, freeways and highways, and yes, even a roundabout! This is a massive library featuring traffic ambiences that range from quiet suburb avenues, to downtown rush-hour. Not just urban environments, we also “hit the road” and drove north to sleepy desert towns, and single lane canyons. There's a ton of variety here!
Recorded with the stunning Sennheiser Ambeo microphone, each ambience is delivered in both AmbiX and FuMa formats, as well as Stereo, 5.1, and 7.1.
What’s more- a 360 video reference is provided to offer a fully immersive image of the sound effect being captured!
A very in-depth multitrack recording of a Plymouth Road Runner 440 Sixpack from 1970.
The car has the 440cubic inches engine with the famous 3 x 2 barrel setup. The rating from factory was 390 horsepower. This car has the three geared automatic transmission.
The recording has eight onboard microphones, L+R interior, two engine, intake, L+R exhausts and finally a back center exhausts microphone. Exterior recording consists of four different stereo pairs, all in sync with the onboards.
The recording includes startup, idle, shutdown, blips, standing steady rpms, cruising, driving at steady rpms, various accelerations & decelerations, ramps, passbys, approaches, stops, aways and more.
It also contains foley recording of doors, hoods, gear shifter, switches and horn. Total recording time is 32min 7s.
Need airport sounds and ambiences? This collection provides good coverage of the common and domestic areas of a modern airport. In total, 19 different recording locations inside the Norwegian airport of Gardermoen have been recorded. A picture from every location is also included for reference.
All files that contain PA announcements have added metadata with a short description of the message. This makes it easier to find the correct announcement for your project. The majority of the announcements are done in both Norwegian and English which is convenient for non-Norwegian speaking sound editors.
Gardermoen airport is the largest airport in Norway, located 35 kilometres northeast of Oslo. Gardermoen is the main international airport in Norway and acts as the main domestic hub. It is also the second busiest airport in the Nordic countries, connecting around 30 domestic and 120 international destinations. In 2014 more than 24 million passengers traveled through Gardermoen.
This library contains 7 steam locomotive whistles from the beginning of the last century!

The all-time classic ARP 2600 was a synthesizer that was an immediate hit with musicians and sound designers when it was released in 1971. Most famously, it’s the very synth that Ben Burtt used to give R2D2 his unmistakeable voice.
Semi-modular in nature and with many handy features like voltage modifiers, lag control, ring modulation, a comprehensive noise generator, sample & hold, and 3 independent oscillators, it comes equipped with more features than you’ll find in many of today’s analog synthesizers.
Thanks to the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation and the non-profit studio The Record Co. I was able to access an original, mint condition ARP 2600 that is beautifully maintained and lock myself in a studio with it to capture nearly 7 hours worth of raw sound design material.
Putting the 2600’s immense sound design potential to use, I created this library to help you give robots a voice, create otherworldly ambiances, score computers with the obligatory “bleep bloops”, and craft larger than life weapons with a distinct retro SciFi flair. I also captured the physical, mechanical sounds of patching cords and moving faders on the synth using a pair of LOM Uši Pro. These sounds are included in a dedicated subfolder.
The resulting sounds range from droid chatter at various root pitches, impacts, drones, noise, and lots of other sonic source that begs to be pitch-shifted and mangled. In fact, the ARP 2600’s pristine analog circuitry and my high-end recording chain capturing it at 192 kHz means that most of the final material features high-frequency content ranging up to nearly 90 kHz!
This means that you can pitch-shift most of these sounds down by up to 2 octaves and uncover new harmonic content along the way. By recording at 32 Bit with the ultra low-noise Zoom F6 and Rheingold Music cables, these recordings are extremely clean and hold up well to intense processing.
While highly abstract in nature, these sounds are a great basis for building:

Racing Motorcycles Pass-By compiles over an hour of bikes racing at a private event, resulting in minimal crowd conversations or unnecessary background noise. Recorded at two distinct locations, this library features long takes recorded at the finish line and at the tightest corner of this particular race track, providing ample engine revving and the sound of bikes driving off into the distance. These recordings are perfect for media scenes set in these environments or for creative sound design, given that they were captured from just 5 meters away from the vehicles themselves.
This sound library is available in both Ambisonics FuMa (B Format) and Stereo (Binaural) formats.
The library was recorded during the flying session of a 78-cc 2-stroke engine-powered paramotor. We were lucky with the weather and with the absence of the wind.
The vehicle had 2 Dpa 4061’s microphones placed one in the back near the engine, the other channel was hidden on the lower left side. This configuration of microphones flew 4 sessions until switching to recording one microphone placed on the engine for the last two sessions. Both channels were recorded by Audio Limited A10 recorders while performing various maneuvers totaling over 37 minutes of air time. On the ground I used Sennheiser 8060 to capture vehicle’s starts, idling, passes, and landings. The library has both close and distant perspectives of flybys.

FLYSOUND presents… The MINI John Cooper Works Turbo Library!
We’ve taken our big bag of recording tools, rigged them to a very feisty little Mini, and then let rip on the racing track. The result is a profusion of audio brilliance that sits ready for any project incorporating the sound of driving with attitude.
The mics comprised Neumann U87s, Sennheiser MKH 416, The Amethyst, and Electro-Voice ND 868. The recording system was our Sound Devices 788T and Aaton Cantar X2. For the interior, we deployed a quadraphonic sound recording set up. Great things come in small packages, and we captured the mighty Mini tearing up the track in a high-spirited, frisky manner, with all her roaring, rumbling, skidding and zooming sounds, there in the versatile cut. Enjoy!
A lite and mixed version of this suite is also included, comprising 15 authentic stereo 24 bit/ 48 kHz files, designed, mixed, and studio packaged on best-of-breed equipment for simpler tasks which would have a preference for a package of ready made stock sounds of the Mini John Cooper Works.

“Old Engines Grab Bag” is a pack of numerous old, unique and characterful engines from early 1900s. It’s a massive collection of 56GB multitrack 192kHz recordings of old tractors and stationary engines, both diesel and gasoline fueled.
The intention wasn’t to cover vehicles driving, but to get isolated and very closely recorded mechanical elements of engines and exhaust pipes as a source material for sound design. There are many starts, idles, revs, offs, RPMs variations, backfires etc. Some are heavy and large sounding, some are small and funny. Tractors were captured EXT and most of stationary engines INT, but since they are very closely recorded there is just a little amount of reverb on most of them.
Most of engines are 1 or 2 cylinders and low horse power and their RPMs are also low. Thanks to this, many of those sounds aren’t tonal and can easily be used as additional layer with other design elements. They work great for adding vintage character, designing junky or funny vehicles, crazy huge steampunk machines or engines malfunction.
Sounds were recorded using multi-mic setup: Sanken CO-100k (most of the time pointing mechanical parts), Sennheiser MKH-8060 (mainly for isolated exhaust pipe), Schoeps CMC6XT mk41/mk8 (general image) and part also with Trance Audio Inducer contact mics (adding unique mechanical perspective).
The library is delivered as multitrack 192kHz files, as well as stereo mix of all microphones. Thanks to using microphones with extended frequency range, drastic pitch changes can be applied.
All files have extensive metadata created in Soundminer, including leg picker with microphone labels.
Demo files include pitched sounds, which are not delivered with library.
