Welcome to my ‘TRAIN ANNOUNCEMENTS CONCATENATION KIT’. What does that mean? Well, it means you can use the words, numbers and phrases I have created to make your own station announcements, using whichever DAW you like to use.
With 90 popular UK stations phrases such as ‘We’re sorry to announce that the…’, ‘fast train’ slow train’ ‘is now boarding’ and ‘…has been cancelled’ you can create thousands of combinations of train times and destinations. I’ve made a couple of pre-canned ones for you as a sample and put one station background ambience in there too. All the VO is in a RP (well spoken) English male voice.
This collection is really immersive, distant noises in large halls, people walking away to catch their train and much more.
The TRAINS SFX library gets you a massive selection of clean, HD train sound effects. Sources include trains such as heavy freight trains, old and modern passenger trains with electric, steam and diesel engines.

SFX from the outside contain drive-bys, departing and arriving trains, wheels, horns, grinding, rattling, squeaking, clacking, coupling, braking, air releases, and much more! To give you the full package, you get a mass of great interior and exterior handling sounds on top. Transport features dozens of vehicles recordings – cars, trains, trucks, planes, motorbikes, etc., – that have taken place in a urban environment, covering your needs for background transportation. The goal of this library is to help sound editors quickly find that background traffic that is often needed. All the recordings are ready to be used in a non-intrusiveness way in any media where vehicles play a remote or central role.
Kicking off our brand-new series “Noisy Places”, TRANSPORTATION is a comprehensive ambient collection with a broad spectrum of crystal-clear vehicle recordings.
Background Vehicle Recordings
All recordings – often loopable – have been either performed from a distance or exhibit enough subtlety, atmosphere and unobtrusiveness to be perfectly suited for all kinds of background settings and applications, giving them a serene, almost naturalistic feel.
Authentic Ambience Toolkit
Build your acoustic backdrop that sounds organic and grounded while keeping the familiar human touch and making the listener more aware of their acoustic surroundings. While a good soundtrack can help in introducing a world to the audience, a believable acoustic setting completes the arrival, especially when standing on its own – one of this library's major strenghts, next to its ability to blend in with more frontal sound design and its varied line-up of motorized vehicles: On the road, rails, water and airborne with both interior ambiences and exterior recordings.
Acoustic Purity and Flexibility
TRANSPORTATION is one of the most flexible ambient libraries, thanks to its acoustic purity and isolation of targeted sounds, allowing you to design exactly what you need without any unwanted, arbitrary noise to worry about. A strong addition to your sound pool that will enhance, or perhaps even replace earlier designs.
Only ground transportation. Sounds of cars, engines and bikes. 63 sounds to enhance your story telling
Transportation – Ambiance
A great collection of ambisonic ambient recordings performed at various transportation locations.
It is aimed to provide you with great spherical content to wrap your dialogue or main-focus content, allowing you to create a convincing and immersing soundtrack.

TURBINE is a revolutionary sound design plug-in that gives you access to a wide range of authentic virtual engines based on their real-world counterparts. Over the last 4 years of intense research and development we shaped this breakthrough software tool that revolutionizes the way we do sound design. TURBINE is here to blow your mind and to simplify your work in so many ways.
You can change and automate all parameters in real-time, giving you full control over the final result.
1. A free license management software
2. A portable USB device that must be purchased separately. Please note that a lot of software plug in creators use the iLok system, so if you already own a 2nd generation (or newer) iLok USB device, you don’t need to purchase another one and if you purchase an iLok USB device now you can use it with software from other manufacturers (one iLok to rule them all).
An iLok device can be purchased directly at ilok.com or – if you want to purchase from outside the USA – here. Additionally, you can get an iLok device from the most music or audio software retailers.
A 2nd generation (or newer) iLok USB device must be plugged into your workstation to run our TURBINE software. Without a 2nd generation (or newer) iLok device, the TURBINE software will not load. This applies to both editions, the free trial and the full version. When plugged into your workstation, our software will recognize your license and you can work with it.
A collection of ambiences from underneath every railway bridge crossing the Thames in London. Most recordings are dynamic enough to allow for easy isolation of train sounds for use as an individual effect, with periods of quieter urban and suburban soundscapes in between – 2 kinds of library for the price of one, essentially.
All recordings made with a pair of DPA 4060s into a Tascam Dr-100mk3.
An underground parking is a place where you don’t feel safe. A squeaky door, a car in approach or simply someone playing with keys. Once again you will have a lot of possibility with those surround sounds for creating space and depth.
Electromagnetic informations are invisible and omnipresent. In every city, especially the big ones, an infinite number of electromagnetic waves is hidden: we can’t hear them, but they’re everywhere! Unseen Noises explores the “invisible” noise pollution transducing electromagnetic fields into audio signals with a telephone pickup: it acts like a radio antenna for hum and weird electromagnetic noises.
“We used telephone tap coils that receive electromagnetic signals around us and convert them into audible information to discover invisible and surprising aspects of the environment in which we live in.
To widen our sound palette, we explored cell phones, tablets, light systems, automated teller machines, wireless communication systems, anti-theft security devices, surveillance cameras, computers, navigation systems, wireless Internet routers, neon advertisings, public transportation networks.
We just used the system of electromagnetic induction as way of amplifying musical sounds. Our efforts were focused on finding “articulated” behaviours and other musical qualities in them.
Note that the files contained in “Unseen Noises” are real performances executed on different devices without editing.” – Matteo Milani

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
