We used close up mics (dpa 4006, mkh 416), medium dist mics (OM1) and distant mics (Audio Technica BP4025). Large variation of exterior recordings (many bys, stops, aways, various speeds, with horn and without etc). Also some onboard recordings.

I took out a MZ TS150 2 stroke Motorcycle and recorded approaches, departures, pass bys, circling in a grass parking lot, engine revs, idoling, etc.
I recorded this library with 2x dpa 4060s, 2x ME2, an sm57, sennheiser 416 and a pair of cm3s recorded in an xy pattern. I set up the cm3s on a mic stand, and followed the action with the 416, with 5 onboard microphones capturing sounds on the bike as well.
In the 179 files, there are 8 syncable takes of pass by's at different rpms with the onboards and 2 different exterior perspectives. Everything has been labeled in Soundly with metadata.

The Italian Vespa 150 GS scooter sound collection includes 283 clips in 20.02 gigabytes of audio. It features the sound of a 1955 version with a 2-stroke, 1 cylinder 150 cc engine.
The sound bundle shares 13 synchronized takes of both onboard and exterior driving. The 12 onboard perspectives arrange microphones at the exhaust, engine, and at various locations on the frame to capture driving with steady RPMs, ramps, and gearshifts. The 9 exterior perspectives recorded arrivals, departures, and passes by at fast, medium, and slow speeds from four locations. Also included are three custom stereo mixes of the onboard perspectives, as well as multiple performed effects of kickstands, brakes, kick starting, and more.

Get the sounds of an old Piaggio Zip 49cc, a 2 stroke scooter from 1999. Its peculiar sound makes it an inestimable tool for film and games, whether it is a karting game, a sandbox or a drama movie.
The library contains 72 onboard, 36 external and 38 foley recordings. Onboard recordings consist of 3 channels (two exhaust and one engine). A mix of these 3 channels has been included. Each single channel is included as well, so it can be layered as you please and make a different mix of the onboard recordings. External files include a stereo setup and a following shotgun.
The riding recordings, where many different actions are happening, contain descriptive markers to highlight interesting events in an otherwise featureless waveform. These markers can be read in programs such as Izotope RX, Reaper and Soundminer. The markers are also included as .txt files in a separate folder.
All files come in 96 kHz/24 bit with embedded metadata.

Recording of a Polaris RZR all-terrain vehicle from 2017 with a XP 1000 EPS engine with a ProStar 1000 HO 2-cylinder 4-rate DOHC 999cc with EFI fuel system and automatic variable transmission.
The Polaris RZR sound fx collection includes 195 clips in 16.9 gigabytes of audio from a 2017 American all-terrain vehicle. It showcases the sound of its XP 1000 EPS engine with a ProStar 1000 HO 2-cylinder 4-rate DOHC 999cc with EFI fuel system and automatic variable transmission.
The bundle collects 9 synchronized takes from 30 channels of audio. The 11 onboard perspectives mount microphones at the engine, exhaust, and in various positions on the frame as the car drives with throttling, steady RPMs, and ramps. Three custom stereo mixes of the onboard channels allow for easy editing. The 8 exterior perspectives document departing, passing by, and arriving at slow, medium, and fast speeds.
The package includes Pro Tools and Reaper sessions with all fx pre-aligned to allow editors to begin mixing and editing immediately. Also included are 18 fields of Soundminer metadata, plus BWAV metadata and MacOS Finder comments.
Motorcycles go fast – especially on the racetrack. Here we have the 300cc, 600cc, 1000cc and Moto 3 Classes recorded on the Hairpin Exit, Straight and Fast Turns, with riders going at it solo and some preferring a bit of group action. They sound fast and powerful, except maybe the Moto 3 class which sounds a little like a small prop plane.

Get the sounds of a 2003 Suzuki GSXR 750 sports motorcycle. The 105 files included are divided into External static sounds, External following sounds, Foley sounds, and Onboard sounds.
The combined recorded driving time is more than 40 minutes long.
The Onboard recordings are in 2 separate mono wave files, channel one for engine and channel two for exhaust. This Suzuki motorcycle was modified with a Level One Racing aftermarket exhaust.
Get the sounds of the the Honda VTX 1300 – a distinctive cruiser motorcycle.
Its 1300cc displacement is right in the sweet spot between the zippier 750 models and the massive 1800 road warriors. This particular one was equipped with a set of custom Vance and Hines Big Shots exhaust pipes early in its life, giving it a distinctive and throaty note that can be heard up and down the highway. The VTX line is also known for its distinctive transmission, which gives a meaty ‘clunk’ with every shift.
This library is a set of recordings that were made using a combination of onboard and exterior mics at a variety of useful speeds, as well as free running on the highway. Its a smaller set, but very distinctive and useful.
We recorded multiple channels on every movement:
• Onboards consisted of Line audio CM3, Crown PZM and Sanken COS11 mics
• A handheld MKH416 rig covered bys and exteriors
After a half day of recording we had material ranging from idles and slow starts to fast bys and highway runs.

The Ural M72 1943 is 750 cc Soviet WWII motorcycle that is bleeding with class. This sound pack captures this hog with a 4-channel that is nearly six minutes in length. With two mics on its exhaust, one on the engine and one onboard, you get the engine starting, stopping, revving, driving and a surround pass by. This motorcycle sounds just as it looks—beefy!

This sound collection covers a wide range of sounds produced by the Vintage 125CC motorcycle Vespa 1962 . All sounds recorded with high end equipment – 24 bit and 96KHz
All the files are mono. The stereo impression in the demo is created by means of panning.
In this collection of high quality sound-recordings you’ll find several tandem and multitrack recordings. Please note that phasing issues between the MKH 8070 and the DPA4061’s are perfectly normal because of fluctuating time differences. The 4061’s are always onboard, fixed and in phase in contrast to the MKH8070 which was handheld on the roadside or handheld pointing at the exhaust while driving along as a passenger.
Besides that also important to note:
The 5 LOOPED SOUNDS are not unique. They
are edits from the larger driving sounds. I just put these in for your convenience should you
quickly need some loops for your project. This is also true for one of the the Revs soundfiles.
(Heavy revs) I thought I just cut this one too for your convenience to quickly have a list of all
relevant revs in this library. So those six soundfiles are the only double content.

Get the sounds of a Yamaha 24MX 125 cc dirtbike – featuring onboard and exterior recordings.
The recording consists of 11 channels, two exhaust, driver back, chain, two engine, intake and 4 synced exterior channels, left, right, surround and following shotgun. It contains several start, stop, idle, blips, revving at constant rpms without gear, various accelerations and decelerations, driving while braking to get even rpms etc.
Driver back channel is missing for the first startup, and chain channel suffers from bad contact last startup, but we decided to keep those in since they still contain many useful parts. The recording length is 19 min 3 s.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
