Flysound goes go-karting!
We recorded a new library of action, with sporty go-karts rigged with 3 Neumann U87s apiece. We raced all around the track, which is located in a huge hangar. We recorded all the key sounds, from idling to high-speed zooming, the sound of petrol chugging, and the idiosyncrasies of the ground hugging one-man mini-monsters. And for sure the squeal of the tyres going around corners is there too – a unique pleasure sound.
The library, comprising 39 files and 2.07 GB from our 14 different takes, is arranged for usage in work of any complexity.
We have a bonus track for the library – the atmosphere of the huge empty hangar where the racing took place. We captured it in quadraphonic sound, using 4 Neumann U87s.

A Journey with Sound
Fiat 126 is a tiny car designed in the early 1970s to replace the classic Fiat 500. It was the most popular car in Poland from the late 1970s until the late 1990s. The idiosyncratic sound of its two cylinder, 0.65 Litre engine became an icon of the Polish everyday life. Fiat 126 was also common in Italy and Cuba.
This library contains all basic sounds this car can make, like driving at various speeds on tarmac and dirt roads, pass-bys and parking. Then there’s foley sounds of all the switches, opening doors etc. Don’t miss the particularly rich sound of the cold start of the aged engine.
The car we recorded was made in 1999. All its sounds are relevant for cars produced between 1994 and 2000. Earlier versions did not have the electronic starter and they wouldn’t beep when the choke was open. Cars made until about 1985 had a different dashboard so some of their switches would sound different (compare pictures for reference). The engine (and its sound) however was the same from the early 1970s until the end of production in 2000.
109 stereo files, 18 mono files, all UCS compliant.
Car Foley 2 sound effects library features foley recordings of different actions performed inside 10 different cars. It’s 130 files with a total length of 30 minutes covering actions like closing and opening regular doors, slide doors, hoods, trunks, interior buttons and switches, windows, seatbelts, brakes, gear levers, handbrakes and more.
Inside you’ll find foley recorded in cars like:
Cars, trucks, motorcycles at different speeds on a rural road in the middle of nowhere during summer.
From left, from right, from both sides, single vehicle or several at the same time.
Recorded simultaneously with an ORTF and a AB microphone stereo pairs.
This library delivers recordings of the 2005 Honda Civic EX, a 127hp, 1.7 liter, inline 4 cylinder, 4 speed automatic transmission Japanese car.
Included are ready-to-use foley recordings, external passbys, and 4 channels of onboard wave files. All 65 wave files are at 24 bit / 96khz khz and the library features more than 40 minutes of combined driving time (total duration: 197 minutes).
Get authentic vintage car sounds with these recordings from a nice, original Ford 1932. This is the first year with Ford's famous sideoiler V8. The car has three gears of which 2nd and 3rd are synchronized. The recording includes engine start, idle and driving at different speeds. At the end of the recording there is also some revving and different rpm's without any gear. The channels are left and right interior surround, engine and exhausts. The recording length is 10 min 20 s.
Buckle up for 20+ gigabytes of high quality car sound effects. 10 everyday cars. Drive-bys, handling sounds, ignitions, honks, engines, doors and trunks. Get this SFX library and you will no longer look for high quality sounds of everyday cars.
We completely wired 10 everyday cars, rented a super-quiet test track for our recordings and are now proud to deliver really great and pristine long takes of drive-bys, car engine sounds, exhaust sounds and stereo interior recordings. We also give you a great selection of close handling sounds like switches, indicators, ventilation, handbrakes, basically everything we could find.

Presenting the most malfunctioning, dirty old gritty sounding engine failure library out there
Featuring a staggering 81 files with numerous takes in most tracks, the Kaput sound effects library will cover the bases of almost any broken false starting engine scene one can imagine.
I can honestly say, that finding the vehicles and tools for this library, has been among the most challenging I have come by. Old and broken cars and trucks are hard to come by these days. Most cars are obviously either driving and dont have start problems, and many of the rest just wont start at all.
Just as rare are broken petrol powered tools, which usually fit the latter category of not working at all.
Still, with amazing recording help from recordist Michal Fojcik Soundmind Poland, and just as amazing help from recordist Erik Watland from Norway, the Kaput sound effects library is featuring no less then
24 different cars, trucks, moped and motorcycles
1 boat engine
A few weird sounding power generators and water pump motors
Back firing exhausts
Petrol powered garden tools, chain saws, and hedge trimmers
Brutal construction machines
From old eastern european trucks, vintage US V8 muscle trucks, classic scandinavian cars, and more modern diesel and petrol engines to funny sputtering dying petrol power tools.
There is even a few more recording sessions planned, that just didn’t make the deadline for the first batch of sounds in this library (buying a copy of this first of sounds, will of course make any future sounds added to the library free of charge).
KAPUT is 81 stereo and mono files, 96/24. 1,6 gb big, all UCS ready!

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
