Sound effects libraries organized into genres such as sci-fi, horror, comedy, game packs and more
A strong set of pulsating elements and complex cinematic sequences featuring dynamic synth textures, evolving futuristic soundscapes, hybrid trailer pulses, and percussive sound design.
This original library is from the personal collection of trailer music composer Federico Soler Fernández (“Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” – “Middle Earth: Shadow of War” – “Halloween 2018” – “The Predator 2018”)
Over 100 cinematic riser effects and epic buildups featuring distorted synths, eerie whispers, sci-fi glitches, hardcore guitars, dramatic reverses, drilling leads, and profoundly evolving textures. This original library is from the personal collection of trailer music composer Federico Soler Fernández (“Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” – “Middle Earth: Shadow of War” – “Halloween – 2018” – “The Predator 2018”)
One-shot whooshing transitions with aggressive sweeps, angry and sudden drops, big heart-stopping bass, bone-chilling metallic textures, frantic reveals, glitchy futuristic flybys, dramatic and disturbing movements, and epic cinematic openings.
Electric Arcs and Energy is essentially two separate collections of sounds. The first, Electrical Arcs are more raw. These arc sounds can be manipulated and mangled to be used as design elements in your project. They are highly flexible and can easily be pitch-shifted -48 semitones or more. They remain remarkably useful and clean giving each sound multiple “dimensions”.
The Electrical Energy collection is a series of more specified design elements that I created – Impacts and Powerups. Meant to be used in Weapon or UI design they should be flexible enough to be used as stand-alone effects or layers in more complex sounds.
This library was designed from scratch by recording highly unconventional metal sources with a cello bow and processing them (see one example in video). Great care was taken during the recording and editing process to ensure maximum flexibility of these sounds. The recording was done at 24/192kHz using the Sennheiser MKH 2050 mic which captures frequencies up to 50kHz. All processing and design was then performed at 192kHz.
If you own the Forge Sound Design Toolkit this library also comes with a specially curated sample map. The sample map can be loaded into the sampler for randomization and the creation of more complex sounds.
257 sounds of electricity sorted in 8 main categories: Electronic data, Interference, Motor, Pass-by, Periodic Noise, Permanent Noise, Permanent Tone and Switch on/off.
From analog to digital, from low sub drone to high pitch pulse, from “warm” power-on of a generator to a harsh distortion interference, this library contains all you need for your realistic room machine ambience, your space gun, your robot motion, and all the strange things in your head.
Recorded with a magnetic coil microphone, this library unveils the hidden, rich sound-world of your household appliances and a 3D printer at work. It records the oscillations in the electric sound field that’s emitted from electrical devices. Also includes several longer sequences that can be used as building blocks for creating your now sci-fi sounds, and more…
When you need Electric Typewriters Sounds, this composite SFX collection of 4 and half (yes half, one machine was broken) (old) electric typewriters delivers. You will find sounds ranging from opening/closing covers, pressing keys, random typing, electric motor movements of the writing head, mechanic-hammering of the letters, small mechanical levers and more.
Of course the sounds can be used for interfaces (and, well, electric typewriters!) – but they could also easily be mangled and mutilated for some great robotic and futuristic stuff. Try it yourself. All sounds were recorded with a Sennheiser MKH8050 through a UA Apollo 8 and a RODE NTG-3 through a Sound Devices 744T. All sounds are royalty free.

ELS is a library that contains electromagnetic field recordings. It features source material ranging from household objects, drones, vehicles and radiology equipment.
During the recording process, the goal was to find and record sounds that mainly had a distinctive and musical profile rather than simply just noise.
All of the included content was recorded with a LOM Elektrosluch Mini City at 24bit/ 96khz. The files have only been processed and cleaned to isolate the sounds from other components.
The designed section contains few different ready to use sounds.
We’re surrounded by a range of electromagnetic frequencies undetectable to the human ear. Unique whines, hums, buzzes, bleeps & drones hidden in plain site. With the help of JrF induction pick-up microphones, I’ve recorded the EMF signal generated by a numerous electronics including synthesizers, computers, dvd players, lights, hard drives, gaming consoles and other household devices.
All sounds were recorded using the Sound Devices Mix-Pre 6 and a stereo pair of JrF induction pick-up microphones.

“Eradication” is an exciting small pack of 25 Planet Explosions.
If your project needs the sounds of destruction of planets, moons or the sun this unique library of big and energetic blasts can be a great tool for your next Sci-fi production.
It’s my pleasure to introduce you to this dense library of accomplished and cacophonous sounds. This is a dramatic and horror filled library, teaming with tension and ghostly ambience, stingers and hits.
Most of these sounds have been used in film and television in one form or another. They’re more than just “designy sounds”.
These are intended to create a score of tension that can help you build a scene to it’s full potential. These sounds add movement within the soundtrack, especially with the drones. When creating sounds, I like to inject some sort of movement within the sound itself, so that it’s never stagnant or ‘still’ sounding.
So if you’re looking to notch your project up a level with dark, moody and expressive design, this is a good bet for you. Hopefully you’ll have as much inspiration as I did when creating these.
The whole collection of Lesser Vibes sound libraries.

This library is a collection of a wide variety of sounds recorded with high quality equipment over the past few years.
Most of the sounds are field recordings or otherwise raw without any processing such as noise removal, EQ or compression, but still mostly curated and edited so that it’s fast to start using them in your projects.
To celebrate the end of one era I decided to put together most of my recordings as one library, it’s including recordings with different techniques – from the electromagnetic fields of iPhone and a contact-mic’d sewing machine, to ORTF-stereo atmospheres of greenhouses, and gardens full of crickets recorded in ambisonic, and much more. 45 GB of material should cover your needs for some time :)
I hope it’s useful as a source of ready-to-use sound effects, but also as material and inspiration for something more. High quality and high sample rates allow you to manipulate the sounds a lot without losing their energy. Have fun with the library!
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
