It’s been 5 years since the release of our Robotic Lifeforms 1 library, and we just felt we could do more! So we teamed up with an epic team of Sound Designers to create an ultimate follow up to it all with Robotic Lifeforms 2. This is no joke, a library of love and over 4,100 files and 12.5GB!
Using some of the most advanced microphones, Kyma, and synths, we really went all out to bring what we think is the most advanced and modern Robot library ever created. Not only do you get over 2,700 designed sounds, but you also get over 1,300 source audio files recorded in 192 kHz 24Bit with the Sanken c1000 mic, so you can pitch the sounds to infinity to create some stellar new sounds of your own.
In our opinion, this is THE robot library to have in your tool box. We aren’t just saying that because we made it, we are saying it because we believe it to be a fact.
Take Robotic Lifeforms 2 for a ride, and you will be happy to own the most advanced robot library ever made so far!

Robotics Lab is 26 minutes/788 MB of industrial robots, 3D-printers & CNC cutters in 62 separate files – recorded in 24bit/96kHz using Sennheiser MKH microphones.
This library gives you recordings of two different ABB industrial robots; the large IRB 6620 and the smaller IRB 120. You get both single, isolated movements and more complex sequences with the robots moving on multiple axes simultaneously. Also included are takes of the robots idling, with some subtle but interesting sounds as the result.
I also recorded Ultimaker 2 3D-printers – 3 of them running at once, as well as isolated sounds from a single printer. A large Zünd flatbed CNC-cutter was also recorded. All in all, lots of servos and stepper-motors, with lots of whizzing, whirring, clicking and ratcheting for your sound design projects.
Introducing the ultimate roller coaster sound library: Roller Coaster Sound Builder includes high-quality recordings from 5 different roller coasters, from classic steel coasters to aggressive impulse coaster. This huge collection includes clean roller coaster passbys, onboard recordings, and classic roller coaster screams.
Roller coaster pass by sounds were recorded without background noise in an amusement park that was closed to the public. A great amount of natural screams with different intensities is also included, recorded during a regular summer day in the amusement park.
This collection provides unique, hard-to-access source material in high-quality, with a large amount of takes for creative sound design. We worked hard to capture as much useful material as we could when we had full access to the rides. All sounds were recorded in Särkänniemi amusement park, Tampere, Finland. Also available in the special Complete Amusement Park Sound Bundle.
rOtation is a sound effects library built for sound design centered around things that spin. It contains nearly 200 exceptional sounds and is the first of its kind. If you’re looking for brand new sound design source material, rOtation is the ticket.
Several months of research and recording has led to this very unique collection. It’s props range from ball bearings to trash cans; magnets to fireworks; water to nuts – all in the realm of rotation.
It contains sounds of things that have never been included in a sound effects library before: The sound of a Euler’s Disk speeding up exponentially fast – the whir and chatter of Hurricane balls spinning to 5000+ RPM – Nuts and quarters zipping and buzzing by in a rumbling balloon – The power of neodymium magnets bending the tones of vibrating glass.
Rubber Stamps: 7 different stamps – 45 files. Great office sounds and mechanical sound design material.
You get self-inking mechanical stamps made of steel or plastic, as well as simple wooden stamps with no moving parts. Models include danish office classics Alpo 40 and 50, which make some very rich mechanical sounds – pitch them down for heavy machine sounds. Lots of interesting mechanical content – good for specifics or as sound design elements.
There's lots of variation in performance here; several different sounds for each stamp.
This sound effects library is a collection of field recordings of freight trains in the San Francisco Bay area with a route along San Jose, Richmond, Oakland, Emeryville, and San Francisco. All the recorded freight trains were old, rusty, and covered in graffiti. When in motion they come alive with very unique sounds such as metal on metal scrapes, heavy thuds, clunking, and screeching noises. All trains were recorded within 15-20 feet from the mic setup of Schoeps 2 CMC 6 U mic bodies, a Schoeps MK4 and MK8 mic capsules, and a Rycote windjammer fed into a Sound Devices 744T.
The Sack Of Coins sound effects library features 34 mono 96kHz files recorded with Rode NTG3, Sennheiser MKH 8040, LOM microphones and Zoom F8. The library covers different money-related activities, from shaking in different containers, rolling and spinning, handling noises, and gathering, touching and more.
• Dropping coins on concrete floor
• Touching, shaking, moving coins with hands
• Sounds of coins in metal container
• Sounds of coins on metal tray
• Sounds of coins on old wooden box
• Sounds of coins on wooden desk
• Sounds of coins in a sack

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
