Metal sound effects

  • HARMONICS is a new designed sound collection that explores the inner beauty of resonating metals to create an extensive set of inspiring sonic material for sound design and film scoring – proudly presented by SampleTraxx.

Metal happens to have the right combination of speed of sound and decay. Different metal shapes produce a broad spectrum of soundscapes and tones.

HARMONICS investigates this hidden magic by designing and layering these unique timbres.
The result is an extensive set of designed evolving textures and designed metal elements which are great to create sound cues in minutes, metal hits, passby-reverses and evolving drones.

The nature of this soundpack doesn’t call for compressor or maximizer. Close attention has been paid to preserve the original dynamic excursion of each sound and fully enjoy its natural vibration and evolution.
Having a wide dynamic range guarantees more freedom in layering and arranging different elements to create endless variations.

The sonic material contained in the pack is all presented in a designed fashion and different levels of design are provided: from simple elements to evolving multilayered soundscapes and textures, all based on metallic sources. No external sounds apart from metals have been added to the mix.

    Features:
86 Designed Textures and Elements (dur. up to 1’10″)
37 Hits (Hi and Low Designed Hits)
    10 Drones
    26 Pass-by Reverse
    9 Tibetan Bowl (Raw Recordings)
9 Kontakt Instruments -Kontakt 5.5 full required for these (free player not supported)

Note: the WAV themselves files can be used without Kontakt

  • An extensive and modular collection of sounds from various doors in exterior locations, like gardens, sheds, cottages, phone booths, garages, saloons, and many more.

    Exterior Doors - Sample Demo

  • A massive collection of metal hits, drops, crashes, drags, and scrapes. It includes iron, steel, and metal. There is a mix of massive impacts and falls, as well as subtle debris moves and drags.

The takes are captured with a variety of perspectives. Most takes include close (mono), medium distant (stereo), and distant (stereo).

  • Bowed cymbals are one of those sound effects that just never get old.

Perhaps it's the chilling sound of bow on bronze that puts us on the edge of our seat that we love so much. Or maybe it's the hauntingly beautiful tones that ring from a large ride cymbal with a large bow.

    TOOLBOX FOR MECHANICAL SOUND DESIGN
Clocks and Mechanics is the ultimate tool to design mechanical processes and tell stories with the ticking, chiming and ringing of clocks. Whether you have to create tiny mechanical movements, rattling gadgets or even large gear mechanisms like steampunk machines, this library will cover it all.

    CLEAN AND DETAILED RECORDINGS
Clocks and Mechanics provides you with recordings of grandfather clocks, wall clocks, desk clocks, alarm clocks, pocket watches and many small mechanisms, all carefully edited and natural sounding. Included are various sounds of chimes, bells, loopable ticking at different speeds, detailed clockwork and gear mechanisms as well as rattling, snapping, clicking and handling of spare parts. All sounds were captured in mono and stereo using the LCR recording technique.

ONE OF THE LARGEST CLOCK SOUND LIBRARIES
Severeal recording sessions in the workshops of various clockmakers resulted in a library containing 440 soundfiles with more than 2300 individual sounds, making this collection one of the biggest clock libraries available on the market.

    Artur Baryshev (Sound Designer)
“One of the most detailed library out there! It contains a huge amount of carefully recorded clock-related material, which can be used in a wide variety of situations: not only for clocks, but for small mechanical things, steampunk robots, UI, ambience, motion design and the list goes on. Also, this library contains the biggest amount of ticks I ever saw. Nice!”

  • Vintage Typewriters features five fully mechanical typewriters from the early to mid twentieth century. They were captured in great detail at 192khz with the Sanken CO-100k, as well as a stereo overhead pair, contact mic, and for full speed typing performances a room mic to easier mix into ambiences. Pre-mastered half speed and quarter speed files are included to speed up your editing and design workflow. Every keystroke, click and mechanism that makes a sound was recorded with many variations.
In addition to the sound library itself, we have included Radium instruments for all five typewriters for Soundminer users, so you can perform directly to picture.
This library is UCS compliant, and features rich, detailed Soundminer metadata with lots of sorting options to help find exactly what you need. Each file is labeled in detail the action that is happening so you can faithfully recreate the sounds of someone using a typewriter, or have an easier time designing those special mechanical sounds. Most of the library was edited on a one second grid to quickly nudge and audition other variations of a sound in your DAW. Soundminer Radium regions were added throughout to speed up your sound design process. Five bonus designed files of clocks and an office ambience are included as well.

  • Scratches is a comprehensive library of 700 recordings of scraping, cutting, scuffing, peeling and rubbing sounds. This high-quality collection of versatile sounds will make your skin crawl and hair stand on end.

The idea behind this project was to gather a wide assortment of objects like saws, scissors and chalks, and to record their acoustic interaction with surfaces such as wood, glass, metal, concrete and gravel. We even came to vandalize a few musical instruments (snare drums, oriental percussions, cymbals and more) with hammers and knives in order to capture weird noises and unique musical qualities.

If you want to get an insight into how we created Scratches library, head over to our blog here

  • Metal Sound Effects Performed Orchestral Percussion Play Track 523+ sounds included, 505 mins total $119

Sounds for this library were recorded in amazing sounding film scoring studio and performed on orchestral set of top-end Kolberg percussion instruments. The intention was to perform organic sound effects resonated by musical instruments and not regular musical samples.

Sounds were generated with a few different rubbers, mallets and a bow. They were performed to be used for abstract sound design elements, as well as emotional big creatures vocalizations. You will find there many growls and moans, which can be used for example as designed whale vocalizations.

Recordings were done on microphones with extended frequency range: Schoeps CMC6XT, Sanken CO-100k and Trance Inducer (which also records up to 50kHz), which makes them ideal source for pitch-shifting.

Please note: Pitch shifted files in the demo are presented only to show potential of those recordings and aren't included in the library. No additional processing was done on all sounds.

    WHAT SOUND PROFESSIONALS SAY:

Victor Mercader – AAA Sound Designer (Apex Legends)
“I find myself continuously using Slava’s SFX libraries to blend it’s pristine and detailed sound designs into my own sounds. They always add that cutting edge I am missing and make my sound designs more unique and pristine.”

Enos Desjardins – Sound Designer/Sound Effects Editor (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Black Mirror)
“Slava has been creating some really cool libraries which I find myself using time and again. Really high quality recordings to start with but then the cool processing he has used for example in his cinematic whoosh libraries really stand out. They are not just your standard generic whoosh sounds but are loaded with character and have a unique feel to them that is really fresh and cuts through in the nicest of ways.”

Bjørn Jacobsen – AAA Sound Designer (CyberPunk 2077, HITMAN, DARQ)
“Slava has for several years made high quality sound effects for me to play with. I use his sound libraries across multiple projects as lego blocks of my creations.”

Ginno Legaspi – SoundBytes Music Magazine‎
“Sound-wise, the quality of ‘Cinematic Metal Whooshes’ is clear and punchy, and very consistent from start to finish. The whole content promises to be a tool to get you going in your cinematic adventures – and it delivers.”

Yarron Katz – AAA Composer and Sound Designer
“Slava makes some wonderful libraries. He’s relatively new on the scene and his libraries have come to critical acclaim. He takes some general ideas, like whooshes and he injects some extremely revolutionary and innovative ideas to them, so you’re not getting another whoosh library – you’re getting something very unique, very fresh. He brings some wonderful ideas to the table.”
