  • Mechanical Sound Effects Old Engines Grab Bag Play Track 486 sounds included, 265 mins total $129

“Old Engines Grab Bag” is a pack of numerous old, unique and characterful engines from early 1900s. It’s a massive collection of 56GB multitrack 192kHz recordings of old tractors and stationary engines, both diesel and gasoline fueled.

The intention wasn’t to cover vehicles driving, but to get isolated and very closely recorded mechanical elements of engines and exhaust pipes as a source material for sound design. There are many starts, idles, revs, offs, RPMs variations, backfires etc. Some are heavy and large sounding, some are small and funny. Tractors were captured EXT and most of stationary engines INT, but since they are very closely recorded there is just a little amount of reverb on most of them.

Most of engines are 1 or 2 cylinders and low horse power and their RPMs are also low. Thanks to this, many of those sounds aren’t tonal and can easily be used as additional layer with other design elements. They work great for adding vintage character, designing junky or funny vehicles, crazy huge steampunk machines or engines malfunction.

Sounds were recorded using multi-mic setup: Sanken CO-100k (most of the time pointing mechanical parts), Sennheiser MKH-8060 (mainly for isolated exhaust pipe), Schoeps CMC6XT mk41/mk8 (general image) and part also with Trance Audio Inducer contact mics (adding unique mechanical perspective).

The library is delivered as multitrack 192kHz files, as well as stereo mix of all microphones. Thanks to using microphones with extended frequency range, drastic pitch changes can be applied.
All files have extensive metadata created in Soundminer, including leg picker with microphone labels.

Demo files include pitched sounds, which are not delivered with library.

  • Unsettling Creaks and Squeaks – Extension I is the first extension to the very popular “Unsettling Creaks and Squeaks” sound library.

This sound effects library is a composite collection of 345 files with even more single sounds of unsettling and and unpleasant squeaking and creaking elements. It’s a great starting point for designing a vast number of different soundscapes in various genres – from just using the sounds as general Hard Effects, through Science Fiction to Horror. All sounds are production ready: Cleaned, edited and leveled, and all with with embedded BWF Metadata.

  • Sound Mind Heavy Industry sound effects library is a massive collection of over 600 sound files of unique and hard to access machines and industrial ambiences, recorded both interior and exterior. To create this 45+ GB pack we went underground and climbed on constructions, we have been in both very hot and cold, humid and smelly places, wearing funky protective clothing, helmets and glasses.

You will find large, heavy machines sounds in it, industrial vehicles, as well as pneumatic, electric, diesel or even antique steam engines sounds and many metal, wooden, debris and also liquid textures.
During our searches we found many unusual sounds with great potential for sound design.

    Recording locations include:
Coal Mines • Zinc Mine • Zinc Smelters • Scrapyard • Trams Repair Workshop • Train Factory • Steelworks • Vulcanizer • Quarry

Sounds were recorded multi-mic and from different perspectives, giving large variety for designing purposes. We used microphones with extended frequency range (Schoeps CMC6XT MS kit, Sanken CO-100k) recording on 192kHz sample rate, shotgun mics (Sennheiser MKH-8060, MKH-815T, Neumann KMR81/KM120 MS kit) as well as Trance Audio Inducer stereo contact microphone (which was very useful in noisy environments and which also has very wide frequency range). We used Sound Devices 702, 744 recorders with MixPre, plus Zoom F8 and Sony PCM D-50.

  • Metallitronic is sound designer Nathan Moody’s latest collection of intense textures, a library of nearly three hours’ worth of metallic membranes and objects excited by electronic signals.

Metallitronic was created using advanced synthesis techniques played back through various transducers into cymbals, gongs, bowls, steel plates, prefab metal buildings, and other resonant metallic objects, close-miked in stereo with extended-frequency-range microphones. This collection radically expands a sound designer’s palette of stressed-metal sounds, horror and tension elements, crystalline creaks and groans, unsettling background atmospheres, rattling vehicular interiors, creature sound sweeteners, the sound of massive machinery, earth-shaking rumbles, and stochastic, complex rhythms.

Some textures let the complex synthesizer textures shine through – intense on their own, even if they weren’t amplified through metal – but the primary focus is on metallic drones, hits, pings, stresses, groans, wails, resonances, rattles, and unique timbres that can be layered into almost any project. The scale of the sounds ranges from detailed to overwhelmingly massive. The sounds invite aggressive filtering and extreme pitch shifting.

Every sound is recorded in stereo at 24 bits, 192 kHz, and many sounds have ultrasonic frequencies. This library includes nearly three hours of recordings, all fully tagged with metadata. Multiple articulations are ganged into single files for convenience and organization.

  • This is a very rare metal sound library.
The impact of 6 metal weapons produces a very pleasant long echo, and the impact of these weapons is also very good.
There are also some sounds of pulling out weapons, retracting weapons, and some additional armor moves method.

The MIC used in this library is a pair of Sennheiser MKH 8040 with a high frequency range of 20-50kHz. The sounds are recorded in 24Bit/192kHz, to capture a large amount of high frequency information over 20kHz.

  • Metal Sound Effects Home Grown Metal Play Track 1103 sounds included, 76 mins total $50

Home Grown Metal is a library entirely dedicated to metal on a non-industrial scale. With over 75 minutes of recorded material, a whopping 1103 raw metallic sound files are included, with love and pruning care thrown in for good measure!

Recorded in the comfort of one's home, the library was produced using a Sony PCM D100 recorder in XY and ORTF stereo configurations in both interior and exterior environments. An eclectic range of 48 unique sound categories are included.

    Recordings include:

Aluminium Can • Bin • Car Roof • Clothes Airer • Coins • Corkscrew • Cpu Fan • Cutlery • Dog Brush • Doorstopper • Drawer Handle • Filing Cabinet • Flask • Garage Door • Gas Container • Gas Stove Switch • Guitar Strings • Ironing Board • Kitchen • Latch • Lawnmower • Lever • Manual Wrench • Multi Tool • Nail Gun • Pliers • Puzzle Pieces • Radiator • Rusted Pieces • Saw • Scissors • Screwed Contraption • Socket Wrench • Stapler • Tambourine • Tape Measure • Tin • Toaster • Toy Piano • Umbrella • Various Pieces • Washing Machine • Watering Can

The library also provides a range of sound actions to choose from, including scrapes, squeaks, impacts, foley, open, closes, drops, rattles and textures as examples. Sampled at 192KHz, with 5GB's worth of content, home grown metal provides both breadth and depth in one package. It lays down a rich and diverse foundation of raw sound ore to work with in your productions.

  • This Double Bass & Violin sound effects library not only includes weird low double bass bow strokes, stabs, vibrating strings, drones, harsh harmonics, string scrapes, bow stroke voices, and bright violin tones and screams. It also includes the opportunity to open up a whole new set of sonic adventures.

Why? All double bass sounds have been recorded at 192K/24 bit, with an amazing stereo set of close up Sanken CO100K microphones, and a stereo set of Sennheiser Mkh 8020 microphones, capturing low end and room. All violin sounds have been recorded with a single Sanken CO100K microphone.

Common for all Sanken files is that you're able to either extreme time stretch/time compress, or pitch up and down the files, and by this discover a whole new world of sounds – without adding nasty degenerating artifacts or muffling the sound. The ultra-high frequency range of the Sanken microphones does really make a great difference!

Recordings these sounds was a pure blast. The amount of versatile organic material in the set is great. The bass instrument has been played in a very innovative way, using both regular bow on strings and bass body, but also finger cymbals attached to specific places for a vibrating ring or rattle noise, creating some really other-worldly sound effects, and almost vocal-like patterns.

While the double bass material produces a massive low end without any further processing, the violin recordings really benefit from being stretched and pitched. This makes all the non-audible bright sounds captured by the Sanken microphones come through.

  • Vehicle Sound Effects Chain Ferry Play Track 17+ sounds included, 56 mins total $29

Chain Ferry features the remarkable sounds of a 100 year old ferry with a specific drive system. The ferry pulls along a strong chain lying at the ground of the river to cross. This is achieved by a clever combination of 3 drive wheels that guide the chain and prevent it from dropping to the ground.

The Library contains several complete audio takes of the ferry in action – from departure to arrival. This encompasses engine start, engine idle, loading ramp noises and bangs plus a lot of chain rattling from various perspectives. The sounds are recorded aboard and from both sides of the river so that the entire scenery can be covered acoustically.

  • Break’n’Shards is a high-resolution, ultrasonic-grade library about much more than hitting and breaking. Its also about shards: stepping, jumping and stomping, friction sliding, scooping up, pouring ground and more. Bright, sharp, screeching and crackling delicate details.

  • 170 sounds of Clocks & Bells, striking, chiming, and ticking.

No longer do you need to fall back on those old BBC recordings of Cambridge College clock chimes with this vast collection of chiming clocks from various obscure churches throughout the UK, many with sets of quarter-hour chimes, with one and twelve hour strikes. Added to that, there are two beautiful 18th century chiming mantle clocks, a couple of sweet carillons and clocks from Amsterdam, Greek Orthodox Church bells from a small island and some distinctly dodgy bell ringing practice from a couple of English churches. Throw in some domestic clocks ticking and chiming and one very snappy cuckoo clock, and you have a collection that should serve most of your clock-related needs.

170 files, some at 48/24 and some at 96/24, representing many years of collecting these sounds from analog tape, DAT and the latest recording technology.

  • Recorded at an old WWII-era bunker just outside Halifax, Nova Scotia, now derelict and covered in rust.

These recordings were a happy accident, discovered on the way to record something else. This large, heavy steel door has been rusting since wartime, and when I noticed it I immediately knew it would have a unique sonic character. When moved, it produces interesting almost musical tones, rich with harmonics and ripe for processing.

This library includes a variety of sounds generated by interacting with the door in different ways (scraping, punching, and moving at various speeds).

    Info:
    • Recorded in mid-side with a Schoeps Mini CMIT and CMC6MK8 into a Sound Devices 633.
    • All sounds are decoded to LR stereo, normalized and processed minimally beyond noise reduction.
    • Files are tagged with meta-data in Basehead and stamped in iXML, bext and ID3 formats.
