Looking for electric car sounds? This library delivers 111 files / 123 minutes of 96k recordings in mono and stereo of the Renault Fluence Dynamique electric vehicle.
The Reanult Fluence was one of the first medium sized electric vehicles in Europe, originally produced in 2012. The car is based on the Renault Megane conventional vehicle.
In these recordings, we have recorded the engine with contact mics, capturing the raw sound of the otherwise very quiet electric engine.
We also have a lot of tire sounds on different surfaces, gravel, asphalt and rumble strips on the highway, as well as passby sounds.
The VHS & Betamax Sessions assembles a collection of vintage, lo-fi sounds taken from over 80 tapes from everybody’s favorite magnetic video recording formats.
Inside this collection, you’ll find over 3 hours of background ambiences taken from assorted home videos, ranging from sports crowds, outdoor ambiences, water parks, amongst other oddities; ready to be dropped onto the late 70s, early 80s flavored projects and retro-futuristic user interfaces.
Complementing the material found inside the tapes, there’s also rewind, fast forward, tape insertion and removal sounds from both players for your foley aspirations.
“INACCURACY” is a collection of 152 digital glitches, errors and malfunctions. These sounds were created using a great variety of audio sources (from vocalizations to, even, designed Sci-Fi weapons) processed with extreme changes in time, velocity and pitch to obtain very direct and aggressive glitches.
The sounds in “INACCURACY” are great for any kind of Sci-Fi production (games, trailers and movies).
Designed Sci-Fi features 546 cinematic sci-fi sound effects, alien textures, ambiences, drones, space cities, deserted crystalline caverns, vast hives of digital insects, distressed metal impacts, abstract user interface sounds, transitions, and more.
Created with modular synth equipment (Mutable Instruments, Intellijel, Doepfer, Erica Synths, Make Noise, Arturia, Expert Sleepers, 2hp, Ladik) recorded into an Emu E5000Ultra Sampler, then processed digitally using a variety of techniques and high-end effects.
Ok, ok, before you hit the preview button…back in school a friend made a short film with lots of fighting and light sabres. Who doesn’t want to try their hand at making those? This was my valiant attempt as a fledgling sound designer. They ain't the real thing but perhaps useful nonetheless. Enjoy!
This library is a small “utility” collection of sounds great for use as Robot/Machines but also great for UI and Weapon design elements. Servos, various metal objects and analog synths were recorded as source material to create this library. The library includes raw servo recordings and meticulously performed or designed robotic/machine-like sounds.
If you own the Forge Sound Design Toolkit this library also comes with a specially curated sample map. The sample map can be loaded into the sampler for randomization and the creation of more complex sounds.
Thunder & Rain is a sound library that delivers the recordings of two storms. It includes a total of 46 audio files, split into three folders: STEREO, MS and UPMIX 5.1. It also comes with 40 audio files in the AS REC MS (NO De-Noise) folder.
De-noise was applied to most of the recordings, to only preserve thunder FX, but you have the NO De-Noise folder included too.
Create your own thunder ambiences with the included Winds/Storm/Rain files (in the preview below, I used the Rain file in addition to thunder files).
Looking for vinyl noises, crackles, pops and buzzes? PHONO is a set of textures lovingly recorded from the blank spots of old and new vinyl records.
Comprised of various loops pops and decays, this collection spans the range of what a needle on an empty track can sound like.
108 flavors of rhythmic noise, crackles, hiss, pops, buzzes, bumps and air – packaged, looped, and ready to go. Great straight or with fx.
The Hard Drives sound effects library features recordings of four hard disk drives (3.5 inch – 5400 & 7200 RPM). All essential hard drive sounds are included (boot up, read/write/copy/delete, power down) that will work great for general computer sounds and ambience.
Each hard drive was opened up, manipulated, and ultimately destroyed to create a collection of raw, abstract and unique sounds. Found materials such as metal, cardboard, plastic, and tools were used to control the hard drive's motor, platter, and head actuator. These sounds work especially well for creating the sounds of mechanical robot movements, electric motors, and futuristic machinery.
A sound library of the organic electronic world of inherent signal noise created from analog sources.
Sounds include hum, buzz, hiss, static, distortion & overdriving, feedback loops, signal malfunction, dropouts, crackling, fuzz, and glitch.
Signal Interference contains 40 feedback loops generated from a no-input mixer, each running for 1 minute for a total of 40 minutes of audio corruption. These unique sonic textures feature crackles, hums, buzzes and glitches to suit a wide array of multimedia projects which require the sounds of malfunctioning machinery, twisted signals and future tech gone wrong.
All files are 24 Bit/96 kHz with embedded metadata.
Electric Motors is a collection of 148 recordings of small and large motors performing various activities, including rotations, general movement, pulses, speed changes and more.
All sounds recorded and edited at 24-bit / 96kHz, with embedded meta data and accompanying spreadsheet.
The Optical Drives sound effects library features recordings of computer optical disc drives (two internal desktop CD/DVD-R and one internal laptop slim CD/DVD-R slot-load).
Two induction coil pickups were used to record the electromagnetic fields emitted by the drives, capturing a very unique set of sounds and textures. These range from sharp percussive bleeps, glitchy static and noise, to electromechanical motor sounds, and drones. You'll find use for many applications, including UI interface design, transitions, sci-fi, robot/servo sounds, technology, and computer sound effects.
Recordings include all functions of the DVD drives, e.g. disc loading, reading, writing/burning, spin up/down, errors, and disc ejecting. Also, each drive was taken apart and manipulated to create additional sounds.
RADIO IMAGING SELECTION is a collection of 50 stereo 24-bit 44.1Khz radio ready imaging elements for CHR and HOT AC radio Jingles, StationID, Liners and Dj Drops.
All sounds are royalty free and ready to be included in your radio productions.
Sounds for you to use for sci fi lasers, thin sheets of ice and electricity popping sounds recorded with a contact microphone and a slinky.
Inspired by thin ice sound recordings and huge pictures of power lines, I recorded a slinky with a contact microphone in order to get some sounds for some thin ice. I ended up with a lot of sci fi lasers and “star trek torpedos.” With some cool bouncing popping electricity stuff, take a listen and pick up a copy to throw in your library when creating sci fi stuff and/or some electricity being sent through power lines!!
Here is a little demo. I think some cool sounds were captured. with the 96k recording you can pitch it quite harshly and get some fine stuff…..the last 2 laser “blasts” have been pitched for you to hear. the first one at 20% of the original speed and the last at 15%. Feel free to send me an email if you want to hear more.
Don't be fooled at the size of 350mb and 24 minutes….there is all the sounds you could want from a slinky in here. :D
Need electrical sounds? Electricity-Sparks N Arcs delivers more than 200 files of 12,000 volt sparking electrical arcs, industrial welders, electrical shorts, Taser gun discharges, Van Der Graph Generator and custom-made Jacob’s Ladder for those classic sci-fi lab effects… even the sounds of the electrocution of an innocent pickle.
These hard-to-find sounds of massive power and electricity are perfect for adding sizzle to video games, movie projects and multimedia.
All sounds were recorded at 96k/24 bit with multiple microphones. Embedded with metadata (Soundminer, Broadcast Wav)

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
