Home Destruction & Impact Sounds Page 10
Destruction sound libraries, impact sounds, bomb blasts, full-on slams & smashes, metal, wood, glass and rock debris, breaking and destruction sound effects & recordings – they’re all here, for the sound of utter destruction.
This sound collection includes 86 HD recordings of cardboard boxes being abused and destroyed in every way imaginable.
We kicked, dropped, stabbed, cut, sawed, punched, crushed and totally abused boxes of multiple sizes and types.
All sounds are organised into folders corresponding to the type of abuse inflicted. Recorded with a stereo shotgun microphone at 24-bit 96kHz. All files include embedded meta tags.
To build the range and palate of character that we needed for this collection, we transformed community park and green-way bridges into large-scale percussive instruments. We sought out 12 very special bridges in particular locations and sampled many different performances on them to elicit the right sorts of impacts that we were looking for. Each performed impact has 3 layers, 2 mono and 1 stereo, all with different perspectives due to mic placement. These sounds are highly dynamic, containing an artful blend of the locale they were captured in, and can add some very rich color to any explosion, impact, or crushing event in your editing mix. Go ahead and do your best (or worst)!
These sounds can take a beating. Enjoy!

Energies is a modern sound library inspired by the palette of supernatural powers and abilities in classic anime.
All sounds in this collection were synthesized and designed
with combat and skill systems in mind, aiming to capture the quintessential non-western sound aesthetic.
Each sound file has multiple performances to create quick and easy variations in your Sound Design.
These are building block sounds effects, with frequency space for layering with additional material, or with each other.
We left room for further processing and manipulation too.
Go nuts.
Tortured Metal Cabinet is a collection of disturbing metal scrapes, low groans, cinematic booms, menacing drones, ear piercing squeals, spooky stingers etc… all performed on and with an old storage metal cabinet.
This library is a nice addition to your library if you need to add tension, suspense or weirdness to any project, not restricted to horror.
Various exciters were used to create friction and make the cabinet sing such as glasses of different sizes, large pieces of metal, hangers, spoons, my hands, etc…
The sounds were recorded with a pretty cool and unconventional setup that gave me a lot of flexibility during the mastering process :
For more convenience, I’ve premixed the different mics and sonic perspectives into 26 long ” raw ” files, both in Stereo and 5.1 Surround.
These Source files were mastered in a way (minimal EQ / dynamic processing / ultrasonic denoise on the MKH 8000 mics) that will let you manipulate them extensively and create your own designed sounds with them.
You also get 41 stereo designed files / 300+ individual sounds that are ready to use in your project.
These designed assets have been creatively processed to give you an idea of what type of sounds you can create from the source material, the possibilities are pretty much endless… I’ve paid attention not to over compress the sounds and keep some of the natural dynamics of the raw recordings, because who like overly crushed and loud sounds that blast your ears when browsing through your library ?
In addition to the source and designed folders, you’ll find 16 Radium Presets ready to use in Soundminer Radium sampler, these presets basically let you create an infinite amount of random new sounds different than the ones in the library itself. (thanks to Kai Paquin for the help with the presets)
Like all aXLsound collections, this sound library includes detailed, comprehensive, UCS compliant metadata. (see below)

The sounds of an electric guitar being bashed about and smashed.
Pete Townshend of The Who claimed that he first smashed a guitar out of anger when he accidentally put the head of his Rickenbacker through a low venue ceiling, damaged the guitar and decided to finish the job.
Well, that opened the floodgates and plenty of guitar players have followed suit.
I took a guitar and an amp and gave them hell, so that when you are making a documentary on the history of Rock music, you can get some Strat smashing feedback howling sounds for it without having to ruin your own precious axe.
There are sounds of the guitar being hit (with varying velocity) and dropped both unamplified, amplified, feedback howls, string twangs and general mangling of the instrument. Please note, there is no audience sound effect in this pack, this is only heard in the sample.
No (decent) guitars were harmed in the making of this pack.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
