Sound effects libraries where the file names and metadata follow the Universal Category System (UCS), championed by renowned sound supervisor Tim Nielsen & more
Need rich, mechanical sound effects? You should definitely check this one out then: We got our hands on two functioning vintage Letterpresses: The motorized “Original Heidelberger Tiegel” (built in 1969 by Heidelberg Schnellpressen AG) and the pedal-driven “Boston Pedal Tiegel” (built in 1901 by Emil Kahle Maschinenfabrik).
We captured these two unique printing machines in 192 kHz stereo from different angles using a range of microphones (Sennheiser MKH 8040 ORTF, Neumann TLM 103 ORTF, Barcus Berry Stereo Contact Mic). The 15 recordings are on average 4 minutes long each and include idle, run, stop and different running speeds.
Low-price. High-quality. Essential.
An essential collection of 150 dirt / dust movement sounds, including dirt, sand & snow settling at various speeds.
Each sound was created at 96kHz / 24-bit stereo and is fully compatible with the Universal Category System (UCS) – a public domain initiative establishing a standardized category list for the classification of sound effects.
Note: All of these sounds (and more!) are included in the 96 General Library (get 3,000+ SFX for FREE!)
This library brings you a comprehensive sound effects collection of a ’94 Piaggio Sfera roller scooter and its 50cc 2-stroke engine.
You get everything you need to bring any scooter scene to life. Electric- and kick-start ignition, idle- and steady-driving loops, idle mixtures, pass-by, approach, pull-away and brake as well as well as several foley sounds for helmet, kick-stand, trunk and kickstarter.
And of course lots of diverse on-board driving sounds.
In this Kit all “Dark SciFi Drones” were carefully split in logical frequency Layers. So you have better control and you can do your own mix of these elements.
Also you can combine and mix the different layers across the ambiences by drag&drop to create nearly endless variations. Or easily do creative up-mixes to surround.
The duration of each Drone is 1:00 minute with very versatile variations in each file.
Use the layers in “Playlists” (Pro Tools) or “Track Versions” (Nuendo) for best flexibility and easy access.
Each layer of the same Drone is named after the Drone plus a letter for the layer. Starting at “A” (low frequency)…
Each Drone is separated in 2-5 layers.
Welcome to the world of tomorrow

The coins and bills used were a mixture of various international currency.

Icy Snow HD is a unique collection of ice debris, stress, cracks, and impacts, as well as snow impacts and footsteps. The local weather produced a foot of snow covered in less than an inch of ice. Very unique sounds!
On a recording trip to the smaller Danish port town Struer, I came across an abandoned empty oil tank. Inside I found two giant wires attached to the floor and the ceiling of the tank, almost like a huge 2 stringed double bass. I’m telling you the reverb in there was longer than the Eiffel Tower on a cloudless day !
On the outside this was just an empty abandoned building, but it turned out it was not empty at all because it was full of sound and a few dead birds. I’m glad I was curious enough to go inside for a closer investigation and not just pass by.
After several hours of concentrated recording, it was nice to get my ears back out in dry air. I’m happy there are no open sends to Valhalla in real life but experiencing the eternal resonance on the low frequencies from the wires was absolutely amazing.
Abandoned Oil Tank was recorded with a LOM basic Ucho stereo pair, a Zoom H6 and the LOM Geofon. All files are in 96 kHz/24 bit and contain the original recordings.
The result is a unique sound effect library including balloon pop impulse responses from a truly unique location that very recently became even more unique since word says that the oil tank is no more and has abandoned this world.
327 individual sounds – all tagged with Universal Category System (UCS) metadata.
A variety of wood based recordings are morphed into a unique audio experience that bends the boundaries between recognisable source and unusual wooden textures.
Cinematic Wood Symphony offers subtle movement and satisfying cracks, terrifying wooden stress and forced pressure, aggressive impacts and designed explosions, wooden vibrations, playful squeaks and annoying screeches, low pitched rattling and rumbling experimental textures.
Choose from designed wooden goodness or sculpt your own cinematic wooden awesomeness with source material.
This Sound Library is a part of the Slava Pogorelsky – Complete Bundle.
WHAT SOUND PROFESSIONALS SAY:
Victor Mercader – AAA Sound Designer (Apex Legends)
“I find myself continuously using Slava’s SFX libraries to blend it’s pristine and detailed sound designs into my own sounds. They always add that cutting edge I am missing and make my sound designs more unique and pristine.”
Enos Desjardins – Sound Designer/Sound Effects Editor (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Black Mirror)
“Slava has been creating some really cool libraries which I find myself using time and again. Really high quality recordings to start with but then the cool processing he has used for example in his cinematic whoosh libraries really stand out. They are not just your standard generic whoosh sounds but are loaded with character and have a unique feel to them that is really fresh and cuts through in the nicest of ways.”
Bjørn Jacobsen – AAA Sound Designer (CyberPunk 2077, HITMAN, DARQ)
“Slava has for several years made high quality sound effects for me to play with. I use his sound libraries across multiple projects as lego blocks of my creations.”
Ginno Legaspi – SoundBytes Music Magazine
“The spotlight of ‘Cinematic Wood Symphony’ is the wide range of complex sounds that can be dropped in your sound design projects. I love the Wood Movement and Tonal sounds, and I’m sure thriller and horror music composers will be delighted with the Friction and Impact sounds. If your cinematic projects are lacking texture and impact sounds ‘Cinematic Wood Symphony’ is a library to be considered – especially if you’re looking beyond common wood sounds.”
Yarron Katz – AAA Composer and Sound Designer
“Slava makes some wonderful libraries. He’s relatively new on the scene and his libraries have come to critical acclaim. He takes some general ideas, like whooshes and he injects some extremely revolutionary and innovative ideas to them, so you’re not getting another whoosh library – you’re getting something very unique, very fresh. He brings some wonderful ideas to the table.”

Want the sounds of Athens? The Athens Rooftop sound effects library delivers 9 long ambiences recorded from different perspectives, and at different times of day – from calm mornings to busy days and nights.
In order to capture Athens’ soundscape in all its nuances, very low-noise Neumann Microphones and Sound Devices Recorders were used to record long takes (between 8 and 21 minutes each) totaling to over 2 hours of audio.
The recording location was a two floor rooftop on a three storey building above a very small street with no nearby traffic that allowed recording the city with some distance from above: Traffic, restaurants, bars, construction work, birds – in some evening recordings we hear crickets in the distance, in some day recordings the AC of a neighbouring flat is running.
Most of the recordings can also be used to represent a general city ambience, while some takes include specific regional sounds like Greek walla, churches and cicadas characteristic for the Greek capital.
Hvac Drones & Tones gets you the noisy insides of hotel rooms, bathrooms and much more; recordings of large ventilation and filter units, cooling compressors and whining fans. All files are UCS-compliant.
Some of the sounds are completely pristine and unprocessed, while others have been tampered with to reveal hidden qualities. This collection contains both noir and noise!

It is with great pleasure that I introduce Modular Mecha; a vintage anime sound library made for those who love the sonic landscape of iconic real robot animations like Mobile Suit Gundam, Patlabor and Macross. Two years of research and experimentation have resulted in this collection of sounds. Every sound in the library has been run through my eurorack system, specifically assembled in an attempt to recreate vintage sounds and effects. From explosions to interfaces, mechanical movements and lasers, to schwings and impacts, Modular Mecha has a little bit of everything to cover your Mecha needs!
This project has been a labor of love and I hope you enjoy these sounds as much I did making them!
This ambiences pack is the result of a short field recording trip / road trip I made in October 2019 around the beautiful land/soundscapes of the Scottish Highlands.
I decided to go with a LCR + AB setup, as while testing different options I found it to be very versatile and relatively light and small. All mics were mounted inside the Cinela Albert basket for more convenience, allowing me to capture multichannel ambiences ( virtually 5.0 surround ) with a single thing to set up, and perfectly sheltered from wind.
I came across rivers, streams, lochs, waterfalls, lochs, harbours, lochs, quiet forests, reindeers slabs and more lochs.
This ” Mini Ambience Pack ” contains 24 sounds /72 files embedded with full and detailed metadata ( Soundminer, Basehead, iXML ).
This car library brings you a comprehensive Sound Effects collection of the 125 PS Opel Astra H CDTi 1.7 (Diesel Engine).

And most importantly lots of diverse driving sounds, simultaneously recorded with 5mics (2x Engine, 2x Exhaust, 2x Interior) so you can easily blend between the sounds to perfectly match you picture.
All source sounds were recorded with a Sonosax SX-R4+ and a Sound Devices MixPre-D with a Sennheiser MKH 8050 + MKH 30 M/S rig (Interior),twoRode NT-1A (Engine)and a MKH8060 (Exhaust).
All sounds come with embedded Metadata.
Spanning five years of meticulous field recordings “Rain, Rivers & Waves” gets you nearly 8 GB of pristine water sounds in all shapes and sizes.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
