Foley sound effects collections featuring everyday objects, movement and common, useful sounds
Whether your need to bring a lone rogue to life or a surge of arrows in an epic battle scene, Nocked will provide you with a plethora of flexible content.
Our largest library to date, this collection is a comprehensive focus on the sounds and functions of the archer and the act of archery. Included are eight recorded bows (2 crossbows, olympic recurve, traditional recurve, longbow, long compound, short compound, and Magyar bow) with 2 additional ‘mythic’ bows of our own design, each using 3 types of arrows (aluminum, carbon, and bamboo) on 3 varying surfaces (hard, soft, and dirt) from 4 simultaneous recording positions (at bow, at target, midflight mono, and midflight stereo). Each bow and each arrow type have a character all there own.
The content’s dynamic range is wide, from whispering bamboo arrows gliding on rests as they are drawn to firing position, to the powerful THWACK of crossbow bolts striking their target. All non-firing sounds were recorded in a controlled studio environment while all recordings of the bows being fired were taken on a plot of wide-open rural farmland, encompassed by forests. When needed, this ambient natural environment provided an ideal impulse response to be used in the design and editing of some of the sounds to create a heightened effect.
A multitude of takes are provided across each bow/arrow/surface/position combination for easy randomization and differentiation of sounds, or to track any number of unique archers at any given moment.
Go ahead, let them fight in the shade.
Turn up the heat in the kitchen and enjoy a delicious culinary adventure your audience will relish and love. Chop the veggies, pour the spices, Cooking Game is here with a stunning collection of game sound effects that features a curated palette of vibrant audio cuisine, bubbly mobile game sound and cute heartwarming SFX.
Library highlights:
Gore is just plain & simple great high quality bloody impacts, splatters, and weapons. You can't go wrong with this library, and it will be a work horse go to for many years! GORE features more than 875 files, 2.92 GB of 24bit/96khz .WAV files, all meticulously embedded with Soundminer and Basehead metadata. GORE was created in collaboration with Michael Leaning, a UK based Triple AAA video game sound designer.
Sounds for the Castles library were collected in four castles – museums (medieval, renaissance and baroque) in southern Poland. My intention was to record sounds of old doors, furniture and every interesting prop I could find, in authentic acoustic environment. Some of the spaces were very reverberant, some just have a bit of ambience, but all are authentic and add specific colouration to sounds. Also, part of the sounds was recorded outside.
As always, visiting those places, I found many interesting characterful objects – most of them are heavy wooden or metal. So expect a lot of creaks and squeaks. Where I could, I recorded variations and versions from different POVs.
Another important part of the library are Background Activities.
Editing sound for films, I always find myself in need for adding some background life to scenes. We all love great foley, but having isolated background activities recorded in real spaces adds another level of realism. So wherever I found interesting spaces, we performed some activities and movements on old stone or wooden floors.
It’s not supposed to substitute foley, syncing it step by step. But it will help to create separate layer of atmospheres.
We also found medieval Torture Chamber, which inspired us to record some of the tools, distant movements of chains etc. but also some screams, all with real dungeon reverb.
Objects and activities include:
A chest • chain • crate • door • floor • footsteps • handle • locks • metal objects • movement • stone • tool • trapdoor • window • wooden objects
Sound categories:
Doors – 145 files • BG Activities – 49 files • Props – 20 files • Furniture – 16 files • Screams – 12 files

Break’n’Shards is a high-resolution, ultrasonic-grade library about much more than hitting and breaking. Its also about shards: stepping, jumping and stomping, friction sliding, scooping up, pouring ground and more. Bright, sharp, screeching and crackling delicate details.
This is a metal dumpster door with a really emotive creak. It’s pretty heavy sounding on it’s own but you’ll notice in the demo, as each sound plays, a one octave lower version of the same sound plays immediately after to show how well these pitch. The last slam is two octaves below the original.
Awesome source material for designing larger doors, creepy atmospheres and dramatic booms.

Two Guys, three microphones, and a mountain of bubble wrap. What else to do but record the knuckle popping, transient heavy, tiny air explosion created by the ever calming sound of Bubble Wrap. This library was recorded in collaboration another fan of Bubble Wrap, Adam Carl. Microphones used was the Sennheiser MKH60, Sennheiser MKH8050- both exported as mono .wav files. The stereo microphone used and exported was the Audio Technica AT2022. How many variations of popping can you create? Between the two versions included in this pack, original and reduced reverb, 2483+ sounds per pack over three microphones 828 sounds per microphone, or 4966 Combined are packed waiting to be popped!
Why did we include almost 3 hours of total sound in a bubble wrap library? When you include the squeaking of blowing on the corners or rubbing two bubbles between fingers, clicking a pen pops, popping using a drill, and even filling the bubble with water using a syringe. Other secret sounds include popping inside a metal trash can- similar to sounds of bullets ricocheting off metal, popping wrapped in tin foil, and stretching.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
