Rain ambiences is a collection of detailed dripping, splattering and pouring rain. It has a little more than four and a half hours of rain recorded in ORTF or NOS in nature preserves, rural and urban areas.
I looked for the most wet sounding spots and spent hours relaxing to the sound of rain. It was really fantastic to record!
The sounds were mostly recorded at night and the ambiences have texture and detail with a range from rain aftermath to stormy downpour on many different surfaces. All files are thoroughly and carefully tagged with metadata and have UCS-compliant file naming.
Six different previews

For many people, rain is high on their list favorite sounds to relax, study, or sleep to. For how soothing and common of a sound it is, it happens to be one of the most difficult to record – that is, if you want to still be able to use your gear afterwards.
In early spring of 2023, a little rain recording experiment on the fire escape leading to my somewhat sheltered backyard revealed that little to no city noise would actually make it onto the recording. Surprised by how clean these recordings came out, and by how wet of a summer we’ve been having this year, I proceeded to record in the backyard of my apartment almost every time it rained.
Over a period of 6 months, I recorded hundreds of gigabytes of rain and ultimately narrowed it down to the 3 hours contained in this library. If you are looking for rain recordings that are clean and work well for layering while still clearly anchoring your soundscape in suburban spaces, this is the library for you! Also included are two long thunderstorms that can be heard moving into the distance.
These recordings contain no distinct car sounds, people, or sirens, and have been minimally processed to make them flexible for use in films, games, and video productions.
As an added bonus, this library contains immersive, Ambisonic (AmbiX) recordings of rain captured from the inside of a tin shed. To convert these recordings to binaural or surround formats I recommend downloaded the free SoundField by RØDE plug-in.

The power of wind becomes clear when you feel the gusts and breezes on your skin. In combination with another incredibly natural disaster like an eruption of a volcano it seems like a dystopian world. We recorded pacific winds, gusts and breezes on a huge plain at the foot of the Yasur Volcano on Tanna Island. Some recordings include loud eruptions of the volcano. The feeling of wind blowing around our ears is created by our amazing immersive Schoeps ORTF3D recording system powered by the precise preamps of the Sonosax R4+ and AD8+.
The Library include sounds like
WIND, GUST, BREEZE, VEGETATION, TONAL, PLAIN, VOLCANO
Key Features:
The sound of a volcano is an awe-inspiring symphony of raw power and untamed energy. It is a cacophony that reverberates through the air, leaving an indelible mark on anyone fortunate enough to witness it. As the molten rock churns and rises within the depths of the Earth, a rumbling bass begins to emerge, like the distant growl of a slumbering giant. We recorded the Yasur Volcano on Tanna island with the amazing immersive Schoeps ORTF3D microphone system powered by the precise preamps of the Sonosax R4+ and AD8+.
The Library include sounds like
VOLCANO, ERUPTIONS, EXPLOSIONS, CRISP, MUFFLED, CLOSE, DISTANT, WIND, PLAIN

Lake Skadar Vol1: Winds & Ambiences is a first installment of the Lake Skadar series, showcasing the unparalleled sonic richness of the Lake Skadar National Park in Montenegro, a UNESCO nominee.
This library is a result of a massive effort put into the recording, editing, and (minimal)mastering process to deliver the highest quality sound effects.
The recordings were captured using a multi-microphone setup and stretched over several days to capture the essence of the location in all its sonic glory. The library features a whopping 2.5 hours of top-notch recordings of wind sound effects and general “air” ambiances.
With 52 files of high-quality recordings, you can listen to general airy ambiances of Lake Skadar, gentle winds being carried across the lake, distant frogs and birds, moderate and strong wind gusts that make the whole lake with its inhabitants silent, creaking trees and snapping branches, wind traveling through leaves and reeds, distant villages at night, and more.
The library comes packed with rich metadata, making it easy for you to find and sort the files you need for your projects. The files are also UCS compliant.
I highly recommend listening to the entire preview as it showcases the remarkable sonic diversity of this library. Keep in mind that the preview is only 10 minutes long, whereas the entire library features over 2 and a half hours of recordings.

We recorded these soundscapes with a variety of organic sounds like exotic birds and animals, light and heavy tropical rain, wind blowing through trees and calm rivers and waterfalls. We also covered day and night moods. Our microphone setup is the amazing immersive Schoeps ORTF3D System powered by the precise preamps of the Sonosax R4+ and AD8+. These Systems allow us to record the incredible soundscapes of the south pacific rainforests in the most iconic way.
The Library include sounds like
AMBIENCE, TROPICAL, WATER, RAINFOREST, RAIN, EXOTIC, ANIMALS, BIRDS, INSECTS, WIND, VEGETATION, VOLCANO, RIVER

Ambience Vol.1 is the first library in our Film, TV & Game Essentials range. If you are a working sound effects editor, sound designer, film maker or game designer… this really is content for everyday usage! And we say that with some experience working across multiple film, TV and video game productions. This library covers all of the practical, go-to sound categories that sound editors use on a daily basis working with fiction, factual, animation and interactive world design.
Urban and suburban areas. This library contains a broad selection of city and suburban recordings, featuring activity from people in exterior and interior settings, clearly audible footsteps and movement on exterior surfaces like pavements, alleyways and walla at different densities. Sirens, street sounds and signature city environments are all included in this selection.
Interiors and Room Tones. One of the staples of sound effects editing, the background room tone. Useful for ADR editors and sound effects editors alike, this library features a number of tones, background hums and ambience that will provide the perfect bed for set dialogue, ADR and replacing missing interior shots from set. Our room tone content also makes the perfect edition for sound editors looking to enhance the audio from set or create a realistic environment scene. From perfectly still rooms to interior weather recordings, this selection can bring your interior scenes to life in any genre or story.
Nature. Vol.1 wildlife and natural environment selection includes ambiences from Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, England, Wales and Thailand. Featuring dense rainforests, jungle trails, native villages, hillsides, farmland and fields. From pristine natural environments to rural countryside shared with people, there are options to cover exotic and European exterior spaces that will prove useful across multiple genres and most everyday applications. Wide spread bird species are featured in these nature recordings that remain common across Europe and North America, such as guls, pigeons, ducks and more. The rural recordings included also contain common farm animals like sheep in fields.
Water. With so many textures and possible settings for water, this selection aims to provide some common use cases. Various intensities of sea waves, tidal sounds, waves against man made features and natural shorelines are included along with inland rivers, streams and water features. Elements like dripping, trickling and splashing all add detail and enhance any background mix or ambience design that contains these visual attributes.
Whatever the Weather… we’ve got you covered! This library contains multiple selections for rain and wind, along with enhanced detailed elements like howling, whistling, rain on specific surfaces, interior weather, exterior suburban weather and thunder. Nothing soaks the ground and sounds quite like tropical rain, thats covered too… with contextual weather recordings from Brazil and Mexico. Springtime rain from England and close reflections from rain splashing down in urban areas, the choice and flexibility featured in this set is not often seen in a single collection and represents great value for sound professionals to use again and again on productions.
From industry veterans to first time designers, this collection will prove useful on almost any production and add value to even the most established of sound effects collections. Recorded using Tascam, Sound Devices, DPA, AKG and Sennheiser equipment… and more than a decade in the making!
Wind collection Vol 2 offers gentle breezes to strong gusts, spooky drafts to rare old bamboo field wind sounds. All files are clean and contain no traffic noise or any other human made annoying sounds. This means the wind sounds can cover many productions including documentary, game sounds, movie background, and for all time periods! From medieval settings to unknown times and places, these wind recordings offer a credible background. During 3 years this collection was growing bit by bit, adding variations and useful situations. The rare presence of insects or birds is mentioned in the metadata, but they apply to less than a handful of files.
The acoustic wind collection covers over 3,5 hours of stereo recordings, binaural recordings for immersive wind sounds, and some mono files for specific use.
When Loop is indicated in the filename, the file can be looped as you would expect, but these files are unlike sample loops, or instrument loops: they are of course longer and loop after a good amount of time, sometimes several minutes. The looped files are chosen by their contents and have no moments that are too recognizable if heard a second time, so they are useful for backgrounds.
All files have UCS compliant names and include metadata with useful descriptions.
You can find a Draft folder with stereo and binaural recordings in interesting abandoned places that had a draft close to a door or window. You might hear some dark reverb or cracks in those places that deliver a great ghostly atmosphere.
The bamboo wind recordings are also very special as these were made in old bamboo fields that were not cleaned. This means there were old and broken parts between the weeping bamboo, assuring nice clunks and squeaks.
Other than that you will find many winds, through air, through vegetation, in empty villages, in a small van for specific perspectives, wind through tunnel, very bad recordings with no wind protection for typical interview fails…
You can find the following libraries in this collection >

A GMC cable tool Sterdrill Keystone USA (1953) – I found one rusting away in a fjord in Iceland and attached a LOM Geofon and Stille and Klang contact microphones.
The results were varying textured breezes moving long grass and decaying loose metal to create rustling, scratching sounds, resonant knocks and also insect and gnawing rodent like sounds.

There was a massive storm going on outside and we could hear the wind from the chimney so we popped our field recording kit up and extended the microphones to as far as they would go up the chimney and pressed record. We managed to capture the low end and rumbles of the wind interacting with the chimney.
We then tried adding some reverb on to the samples to give space and context which wasn’t exactly part of the plan for this sample pack but we thought it added something so decided to add these samples to the sample pack for no extra cost.
Chimney Wind will give you enough audio to give your project the authentic sound of wind from a chimney stack, boosting your project to the next level. Chimney Wind has been edited to allow a drop in ready and Royalty Free sample pack. These Samples can be used in a variety of projects from Sound Designing/Compositions for TV, Film, Documentaries and Video Games. UCS Compliant and Metadata is attached to the samples
