East River ferry immersion – pretty much all you’ll need to recreate a trip on the ferry – or how it sounds from the quayside/shore. Immersive binaural stereo locates you right by the ferry station with a groaning pontoon and creaking fenders and gentle river wave action. Then boarding and disembarking, as well as a suite of onboard sounds inside the main passenger cabin and out on deck. No wind buffet here … just awesome variable boat engine sounds and wave lap against the hull.
Binaural stereo – the next best thing to being there. Take a little trip … with the Audio Ninja.

Binaural soundscapes from Grand Central Station – recorded to have plenty of background (and some mid & foreground) voices without anything too recognizable – so you can add your own dialogue in the foreground, OR loop sections you like most without it being obvious. The central concourse soundscapes are fairly static – but others move at walking speed – between different locations from street level entrances, through the concourse to the platform. There’s even a couple of revolving doors and an empty escalator/platform to add your action onto. Recorded on (my) dummy head with high-quality omni mics – listening back in headphones instantly immerses you in the middle of the sound field. Binaural stereo – the next best thing to being there! And all with just two channels. So put your headphones on and take a little trip – with the Audio Ninja.

Establish the setting of any scene with the go-to recordings of The Odyssey Collection: Ambiences. Cover your needs for locations both everyday and exotic – from aircraft carriers to the Serengeti, nuclear power plants, brisk Canadian mountain air, Mexican bar walla, a Czechoslovakian office, record pressing factories, Malaysian forests, big cities, small towns and everywhere in-between.
Developed in exclusive collaboration with Academy Award®-winners Mark Mangini & Richard L. Anderson, Odyssey Ambiences delivers vibrant, diverse, high-quality recordings from around the globe – so you can focus on staying creative and delivering your best sound.
“Because Richard and I were so religious about fresh recordings, it was quite common for us to have a recorder with us everywhere we went. This allowed us to develop a rich, varied and international scope to our Ambience library without having to actually find money to fund every recording.”
– Mark Mangini (Blade Runner 2049, Mad Max: Fury Road)

Last Summer we visited California State for 2 weeks. We visited and recorded Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Morro Bay, Monterey, Carmel, Yosemite and finally San Francisco.
We recorded in each place, just to save the beautiful soundscapes from the marvelous Route 1, capturing around 40 beautiful tracks in ambisonic format, 48Khz and 24 bits HD. As always, top quality recordings specially designed for film audio projects. The library was decoded and mixed in Dolby ATMOS.
Included Ambix Ambisonic, 7.1.2 Atmos Bed, 5.1 and ST versions.
Sci-fi World Guardian is a library geared towards multiplayer games, space, dystopias, utopias, fantasy, magical places, serene game moments, RPG, MMO, and sci-fi games all alike and showcases sounds like automated shipyard, electron flow, data mining, engines, mothership hums, conversions, moons of Venus, deserted area, bioengineering lab, desolate space, holy house, a variety of pulses, tech-based loops, winds, & more.
Each loop is game ready, seamlessly loopable and around 1 minute in length. Each main ambience includes 1-2 alt mix versions + you get a variety of layers to accent your scene and games ambience. Having both full ambiences, alt mixes and layers allows you to truly orchestrate your game’s background sound how you want it. If the full loop has too much going on, then try using the minimal version without the sound you don’t like or by stacking a layer loop to boost the dynamic of the atmosphere.

A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
