Environment recordings, ambiences and soundscapes – from all over the world, and beyond
The harvester Claas Lexion 530 Library contains all the sounds a decent harvester produces on the field in one day. We were allowed to accompany this gigantic 300+ horsepower machine on the field and document all its activities. It roars and sounds harsh and dangerous.
Whether you are looking for realistic farm sounds or want to design a futuristic vehicle. The harvester files are ready to use or very easy to manipulate as they deliver sounds across all frequencies captured with high end equipment. Both helium-3 harvesting spaceships and apocalypse scrap transporters can be produced in just a few steps.
In addition to the standard exterior recordings such as bypass, away and up, the library also includes on-board recordings from the cab, from the platform, as well as various mic positions such as directly above and beside the cutting knives, on the belt, at the unloading pipe and many more. In addition, there are selected foley sounds, as well as a few distant atmo sounds.
70% of the revenue will benefit the non-profit association “Bulldogs for Kids e.V.” and by this benefit chronical ill children.
Welcome to the Sounds of Morocco. This essential collection features carefully selected, high-quality sounds recorded on location in the North African region of Morocco.
From the chaos of Marrakech’s bazaars and souks, to the relative calm of the seaside town, Essaouira, to the laid-back surfside village of Taghazout, this collection captures a true snapshot of the sounds you can expect to hear in Morocco. This collection includes crowds, accents, cafes, birds, traditional markets (or souks), the Islamic call to Prayer (Adhan) and so much more. Please see the tracklist below for more detailed track information.
Sounds of Morocco was recorded with the intention to be particularly useful in post-production environments with a range of genuine and rare sounds you can genuinely expect to hear in Morocco.
We really hope you enjoy this extensive, high-quality sound pack.
All tracks recorded by Evan Buist, sound engineer and field recordist (National Geographic, DreamWorks, Paramount Pictures).
Suburbs of Chicago: Woods is the 6th in the Suburbs of Chicago Series. This pack takes us deep into another suburban forest preserve. This one drapes the sky in tall trees, providing shade and plenty of trails to walk through. Watch out for small critters jumping around as one recording in this pack caught a squirrel hopping through tall grass and weeds. There are plenty of grass and leaves rustles along with bird chirps. There is also a recording over 10 minutes at the intersection, filled with passing and idle vehicles, right out side the wooded forest preserve. Recorded at 24 bit, 192 kHz using the Sennheiser MKH8050 and MKH30 into a Sound Devices Mix Pre-6.
Over an hour and a half of recordings, all metadata tagged and updated using the Universal Category System in Soundminer, Basehead, and Soundly. As in the all the other packs in this series, you will hear distant traffic and planes throughout.
This library contains 17 different trains as they pass through the station, arrive and depart a rural station in Sweden. Trains include double decker passanger trains, local metro passanger trains, and few heavy freight train passes. They were recorded with two 4060s on the tracks with a mkh60 following, they are syncable.
These have a nice isolated stereo image and great for sound designing space ships and sci fi stuff. Also work Wonderfully for transition elements and corporate video introductions. Feel free to inquire before buying here.
Discover the quaint charm of a sleepy Northern English town, on a cold and windy night, the sound of windchimes shimmering through the air.
The Dormant Village Library was recorded in a small village in North Yorkshire, England, on the night before Christmas. It was very cold and windy, and there were almost no people around, as everyone was sipping hot cocoa in their homes.
The library was recorded in a few different locations, some close to the little traffic that was still present, and some further away. The recordings were then polished and edited down to just about 12 minutes, preserving the essence of the location.
In addition to the descriptive SoundMiner metadata embedded in the files, I have also added markers in iZotope RX, which can be read in some versions of SoundMiner, Reaper, etc.
The markers indicate small sonic events, such as distant, melodic windchimes, or when the wind picks up, allowing you to understand what happens throughout the recording without having to listen to the whole thing.
This library contains a large variety of ambiences and drones that stylized as industrial or science fiction. All of these files are derived from on location recording sites and carefully edited and crafted to create a large variety of unique sonic textures. Source material ranges from large industrial buildings, parking garages, utility rooms, air condition unites, fans, buzzing electrical components, analog synthesizers etc.

Urban Berlin Volume 2 is the brand new library in addition to volume 1, capturing the many sounds of the German capital.
We recorded in the districts: Kreuzberg, Mitte, Charlottenburg and Tiergarten. This Library contains the most-visited places, as well as quiet streets and backyards. Most of these recordings were made during the spring of 2016. For further details about the locations, please read the spread-sheet and take a look on the location photos.
It was completely recorded in MS-Stereo (mid/side Signal) which gives you the great opportunity to handle the stereo-spread in post production. For those of you, who want fast results, we offer you also a converted version in full Stereo-spread. The excellent Neumann Shotgun MS-Microphone RSM 190i was used in this session.

This collection provides authentic and interesting sounds recorded through all the country using DPA, Neumann and Audio technica mics powered by an Aeta Mixy Recorder. All Faunethic tracks include Soundminer metadata tags.
Berlin Ambiances I is 114 minutes/3,69 GB of pure Berlin in 31 separate files – recorded mostly in 24bit/96kHz quasi-binaural stereo, with Primo EM172 omni capsules. All files are UCS-compliant.
This collection contains stealth recordings of various Berlin locations, including a good deal of train sounds and, well, Berliners!
I went to locations such as the Bodemuseum (crazy natural reverbs), the Hauptbanhhof (enormous, diffuse train station-ambiance) and Haus der Kulturen der Welt (great restaurant vibe and busy foyer). All this captured during January 2015, with a head-worn set of near- or quasi-binaural microphones.
Why quasi? Because the microphone elements are not entirely behind the Pinna (that thing protruding in front of the ear-canal), which means the true, 3-dimensional binaural experience isn’t there. In this setting, my head shadow acted more like a Schneider disc or such, which means these recordings should translate better to speakers than, say, a Neumann dummy head. Btw: the non-binaural recordings were done in October 2013, using just my Sony PCM M10 recorder.
All in all, a collection of useful ambiances for your next Berlin-esque project.
You get:

I found a very long disused bore hole in the middle of an Icelandic lava field. I dropped rocks down it, poured water into it, vocalised into it, stroked a rasp file on a plastic bottle stuck into the top of it and other experiments.
The results were insane metallic echoes, delays and reflections.
Unique source material for sound designers and experimental sounds for musical composition
392 single files and 55 grouped files for easy reference.Â
Files are stamped with UCS compliant metadata in Soundminer
In the summer of 2021 I spent about a month in Seattle and did a lot of field recording. One of the most successful sessions was a round trip to Winslow on the Washington State Ferry. The ship is huge and just about everything vibrates sympathetically with the engine pulse. This library includes all of those vibration recordings (Shock-mounted Sony PCM-100; 96k/24bit) To keep things interesting, and somewhat on point, I’ve scoured my personal library for other unique sounds – real and synthetic – which I’ve gathered or created over 30+ years that have some sort of vibration (or vibration-adjacent) element. I was pretty liberal in how I defined it: Quantum foam (Organic or Performed) The result is an eclectic mix – vibration being the through-line.
All sounds have UCS compliant metadata.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
