Tek Chok Ling Nunnery library contains one of a kind, unique collection of sounds, recorded both within the walls of the Nepalese nunnery and on the filled with life streets of Kathmandu.
The purpose of the Tek Chok Ling Nunnery is to inspire and infect with the contagious beauty of everyday buddhist rituals, which normally are not accessible for outsiders and ment to be experienced by only a limited group of people, whose entire lives are dictated by their immaculate religious beliefs.
Within those humble advocates of unrestricted faith in a fellow man and a stranger, one can find an inspiration and a proper dose of somewhat distant empathy in the Western world.
The library includes, but is not limited to sounds from both the nunnery and the hectic streets of the capital city of Nepal. The busy streets of Kathmandu carry the beauty of its everyday hustle and bustle sounds, containing a diverse range of city ambience.
Extensive information of every track was made, making the search for desired environmental sound much easier, formatted for Soundminer. The library features 3h24min of sounds from Tek Chok Ling Nunnery, Kathmandu and Himalayan mountains.

Recorded at an active power station, a physics laboratory, a three-story steam pump and various industrial complexes, these giant pipes produce unusual sounds as gasses and liquids are pushed through them at extremely high pressures. From classic metallic pads and strange harmonic textures, to squeaking, rattling, clanking, breathing and the juddering of machinery vibrating through them.
Recorded at 96kHz/24bit with 2 contact mics going into a Sound Devices 788T, they provide a unique palette useful for both real, and other-worldly applications. From industrial vents and factories to sci-fi alien cargo ships.
There is also a section of details/sweeteners to add spice and punctuation. All files are meta-tagged.
Aimed at complementing Ambisonics – Roomtones, this library compiles additional content for intimate VR experiences. This volume focuses on busier soundscapes, including the heavy hum from a fridge in a kitchen facing a street with sporadic vehicles and conversations, quiet living room takes with distant voices and a dog snoring, persistent machine sound from a pump, porch recordings on a rainy night and a busy morning with varied traffic passing-by.
These audio files are perfect for both quiet and languid roomtone soundscapes, conveying multiple moods for any desired VR experience.

This library, recorded during a trip to the ominous Death Valley USA in February 2021, features sounds of the harsh desert being carved by winter winds, as well as sounds of life such as wetland birds from the oasis at Ash Meadows. If you listen closely to the recordings from the infamous Devil’s Hole, and inhospitable Salt Creek, you can hear the endangered pupfish bark. Many recording styles were used to capture immersive stereo images of the landscape that provides such stark contrasts being both foreboding and breathtaking in its beauty, included are surround and binaural recordings. This is by no means a comprehensive collection, if anything I learned that I have much more to discover about Death Valley than I thought I did starting out.
I will be donating 10% of my portion of the sales from this library to the Death Valley Conservancy in order to help in the efforts to protect this place which is dear to my heart, and truly one of the most unique places on the planet. Sale Policy: To keep things simple, I never put any of my libraries on sale or offer any kind of discount. I sell them at a reasonable price given the effort to record and compile them, I find this is the most honest and transparent approach to the sale of sound effects.
Sounds from a town covered in fresh snow
I woke up on Sunday morning here in England and pulled back the curtains to see a town covered in snow. So I got my winter clothes on, grabbed my digital recorder and spent the whole day in the town, recording all the snowy wintry sounds I could find. This pack is the results. The pack consists of some general ambiences, some snowball hits, footsteps, ice in a barrel being chipped, a snowball fight, cars driving and struggling in the snow and much more.
There are WAVS and MP3s supplied.
This pack is a collection of recordings from the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina. Everything from birds and bugs, to soft streams and raging rivers. Perfect for any sound designer looking to create a forest ambience full of wildlife and healthy streams.
This comprehensive sound library is where you can find: sounds of wind in urban and nature environment, room tones, wind recorded in car, wind whistling under doors and windows, at the sea-boats mast and hardware, in trees, in buildings corridors, lobby, attic etc. Check the list of sounds for full info. All files are metadata tagged, with detailed description of equipment used object of recording etc.
Recorded with high end recording equipment: Sennheisers MKHs, mics; Rycote blimps, Sound Devices 744T recorder, Sound Devices MixPre mixer, Mogami cables, etc.
Maximum peak level on all recordings is -5 dBFS (for great dynamic range, great headroom), originally recorded with great headroom keeping in mind and to maintain great dynamic range of this natural phenomena.
Are you ready to HEAR the heat? This is the LARGEST sauna sound effect library in the world! We have here 3 different saunas and as a bonus a wood stove. Included are almost everything that you can hear in a Finnish sauna.
Sauna #1: Basic Finnish sauna with wood burning sauna stove. Attached to the stove is a water tank for heating the water.
Sauna #2: Barrel sauna, which is almost the same as the basic wood burning sauna. It’s just shaped as a barrel, and not so traditional.
Sauna #3: Electric sauna. This sauna type is very used, especially in places where wood burning saunas are not possible. Sauna stove in this sauna is electric, but it still has the same stones as the other saunas.
Wood stove (Porin Matti): It’s for keeping your cabin warm during the cold winter, and also for cooking.
This sound effect library is organized in chronological order. In wood burning saunas you pour water inside a water tank, put firewood inside the sauna stove and make fire. When sauna stove is hot, you pour or throw water to the stones to get sauna hot. Then you can whip yourself with a birch vihta. After sauna you can pour hot water from the water tank into a bucket, mix it with cold water and wash yourself. When using electric sauna you first charge the sauna, and then when it´s hot, you continue as in wood burning sauna.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
