Environment recordings, ambiences and soundscapes – from all over the world, and beyond
The Farm is a sound library that I compiled about a year ago just for fun and I kept adding sounds recorded at the same location in the Canadian countryside at 4 different farms. During the recording session, I’ve been lucky enough to have met some fantastic people ready to share their passion for farming and pointing me out to what they felt was an essential part of their everyday soundscape.
I had the chance to stumble on two late 50s John Deere tractors that where still functional and that marked the end of an era. It is a comprehensive farm sound library that is not just about tractors or animals.
You will find, in the bonus section, 6 different footsteps surfaces each with a walk and run variation and some more. There are five main categories in this library: Ambiances, Animals, Footsteps, Misc (Various SFX) and Vehicles ready for creating a convincing farm soundscape for your project.

Get the sounds of everyday life in Tokyo, Japan. A quiet neighborhood with moderate traffic, birds singing and a dog barking in the distance. Recorded in densely populated, but quiet and civil Setagaya Ward, Tokyo.
Sounds include traffic in the form of cars, trucks, lots of bicycles and pedestrians, commuters at Kyodo Station, cicadas at night, Japanese crows cawing, as well as the unmistakable sounds of a Buddhist cemetery in a light breeze (!). In short; just the right sounds to make Japanese suburbia come alive in your productions.

These sounds will sweeten and add character to your wind sounds. Lots of whistling, squeaking, howling and singing wind. From low rumbles, mid honks to harsh high frequency blows, this modular library is the perfect construction kit for creating otherwordly swirls and heavy storms.
The sounds were recorded at the windorgan in Vlissingen(NL) in Zoutelande(NL) and in Essen(GER).
In addition to the original wind sounds creating tones on objects, you will get a few rattling flagpoles, waving flags and singing flag cords. And some bonus windmill sounds.
Also 2/5th of the sounds are delivered in stereo, the focus is on mono sounds. I captured the very sweetspot where the wind created unique tones. To focus on these rare events, I mostly used a single spot mic. In winds up to 48 mph you will have carefully selected mic positions for a broad variety of wind torturing different objects.

TOWN & COUNTRY provides a wide range of professional sounds for creating perfectly convincing and realistic town and country ambiences in high-end quality. In addition to a broad and solid foundation of town and country lifestyle, we focused on credible ambiences that are full of detail and at the same time leave enough room to place further sound design in the foreground.
MAJOR STRENGTH: FLEXIBILITY!
The main part of this library consists of extensive – mostly loopable – background ambiences with varying daytimes and locations of town & country sceneries. More detailed and easily accessible sounds of e.g. camp fire, farm animals or an extraordinarily impressive file with flies on a roadkill are another strong addition to your SFX pool.
More than 200 files of vivid town and country days and nights give you all the flexibility you need to bridge the gap between a very rural country life with animals and man-made town sounds. TOWN & COUNTRY has all necessary components to design organic and grounded acoustic backdrops while keeping a naturalistic feel and human touch.
From winds rushing through empty streets to winds whistling and whipping across a marina, “Town Winds” offers a broad spectrum of wind ambiences in urban environments.

Whether you’re designing a stormy scene in a city or a suburban environment, this is the library for you.
Locations captured:
Empty streets, parking lots, railway stations, school, rural street, marina, harbor, lighthouse, athletics field, backyard, town square

Other sounds include heavy rain lading on a Wooden Roof Picnic area with rolling thunder and many kids playing in a large pool at a water park.
These ambiances were recorded with professional equipment including Sound Devices 702t and a pair of Sennheiser MKH 8040’s in ORTF configuration inside a Rycote Stereo Windshield with Connbox. There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
