  • The OUTDOOR IMPULSE RESPONSES library from BOOM gets you realistic outdoor reverbs – fast and easy.

Using impulse responses, you can apply the acoustic characteristics of a particular location to your target audio as if it had been recorded in that place. With our BOOM Library OUTDOOR IMPULSE RESPONSES library, you get 68 great outdoor impulse responses to place your sounds into specific locations and make them sound as plausible and realistic as possible. We recorded a lot of different outdoor locations such as fields, forests, hills, mountains, valleys and urban locations. We have ensured that each recording has a rich and detailed reverb tail to capture every characteristic delicacy of the respective location. All files come in high definition audio (192kHz). Each location is documented with a picture to get an impression of the surrounding area. Watch our tutorial video below to see how to work with BOOM Library impulse responses.

To use BOOM Library OUTDOOR IMPULSE RESPONSES, you need a convolution reverb plugin that allows importing impulse responses. This is not included in this library.

This is it, the largest reindeer sound library in the world! Recorded in Lapland, Finland, in winter 2020, we have here over 53 minutes of reindeer in three different, mostly quiet locations.

The first location is a snowy trail in the woods. I was snowshoeing and the reindeer were walking in a distance. Clicking hooves are the deal in these recordings!

The second location is a place in the middle of the woods where the reindeer are sleeping, eating and doing reindeer stuff. No people in sight, no barriers. Just me and THOUSANDS OF REINDEER, and they took me in as their leader, so I got every imaginable and as well unimaginable sound as they were not afraid.

The third location is a reindeer enclosure. Here I got the most isolated sounds. This location also includes a feeding shed, where I recorded reindeer eating and digging!

    INCLUDING:
    footsteps • walking • running • scuffs • grunts • burps • sniffs • snorts • other mouth sounds • antlers • urinating • attacking • eating • digging • bells • clicking hooves • collar rattle

  • WATER CLOTHED IN VEGETATION – A UNIQUE ACOUSTIC ENVIRONMENT
RIPARIAN ZONES are one of the 15 terrestrial biomes that characterize the Earth’s thin green mantle. They border streams and rivers. These soundscapes are characteristically diverse and rich with reflections, providing wonderful opportunities for sound designers to attract audience attention as well as take them on a sonic journey.

    WHAT’S INSIDE

    INCLUDED SOUNDS – KEYWORDS

RIPARIAN ZONES, NATURE, RIVERS, RIVERSIDES, BIRDS, BIRDSONGS, STREAMS, FROGS, FLOWING, WATER, INSECTS, THUNDERSTORMS, CRICKETS, BABBLING, WATERFALLS, RUSH, CALLS, GURGLE, TRICKLING, ROLLING, SPLASHY, DROPS, DRIPS, TERRESTRIAL, BIOMES, REFLECTIONS, WILDLIFE, AMBIENCES, ATMOSPHERE

SONIC DIVERSITY – INCREDIBLE RECORDING QUALITY

Increased available water at the edges of streams and rivers allows for plentiful plant growth, resulting in added food and shelter, which, in turn, increases wildlife diversity and translates into greater sonic diversity. An added plus is higher humidity. Humid atmospheres are more elastic than arid atmospheres and therefore propagate sound faster and more clearly to your microphones, resulting in excellent sound quality.

    EXCEPTIONAL REVERBERATION

From a sound designer’s perspective, these lush and varied locales also often feature a unique tubular echo due to overhanging vegetation and the landforms cut by the flowing waters. Factor in the much higher biodiversity than in adjoining habitats and you can generally count on mesmerizing soundscapes that will delight your audiences.

  • River Estuary is a series of recordings centred around the River Deben estuary in Suffolk, an area famous for its natural beauty and wildlife. It is a treasure trove of sounds that capture the ambience of this serene environment, with a focus on the wading bird calls that give the estuary its unique sonic character.

The library was mostly recorded on a boat stationed in Woodbridge in the late winter of 2018 with private access to the boatyard, allowing me to record safely over night. I continued the recordings up until late summer, making trips to other areas along the Deben in between. I was also granted permission to record on the privately owned Sutton Hoo side of the Deben, another of Suffolk’s areas of outstanding historical significance and beauty, equally full of life but further away from the rumbling traffic and human life coming from the town.

It includes the sounds of curlews, oystercatchers, redshanks, geese, swans, ducks and various other wading bird calls, as well as general ambience recordings of the area at high tide and low tide and all hours of the day. The night calls that echo over the expanse of the river at low tide are particularly evocative.

The library was recorded entirely in 24bit/96k with a double Mid/Side rig consisting of Sennheiser MKH60/30 and 8040 mics, encoded to 5.1 Wav. A stereo option is also available at a lower price. As a bonus there is a collection of bird call spot FX taken from the recordings with noise reduction applied, for those who may need to add individual wading bird calls to their ambience.
