Nature sound effects and recordings, from forests, jungles, plains and fields
New Zealand Ambiences is a beautifully crafted ambience library exploring the incredible country and sounds of New Zealand (mainly focusing on the South Island). This library will take you on a sonic adventure exploring the many unique birds and creatures ranging from locations such as: Haast, Queenstown, Lake Paringa, Lake Wakatipu, Te Anau, the Clay Cliffs and Pukaki!
Recorded at 24 bit/192 kHz you’ll have the flexibility to pitch these ambiences and bird songs to create some truly amazing other worldly atmospheres!
River Estuary is a series of recordings centred around the River Deben estuary in Suffolk, an area famous for its natural beauty and wildlife. It is a treasure trove of sounds that capture the ambience of this serene environment, with a focus on the wading bird calls that give the estuary its unique sonic character.
The library was mostly recorded on a boat stationed in Woodbridge in the late winter of 2018 with private access to the boatyard, allowing me to record safely over night. I continued the recordings up until late summer, making trips to other areas along the Deben in between. I was also granted permission to record on the privately owned Sutton Hoo side of the Deben, another of Suffolk’s areas of outstanding historical significance and beauty, equally full of life but further away from the rumbling traffic and human life coming from the town.
It includes the sounds of curlews, oystercatchers, redshanks, geese, swans, ducks and various other wading bird calls, as well as general ambience recordings of the area at high tide and low tide and all hours of the day. The night calls that echo over the expanse of the river at low tide are particularly evocative.
The library was recorded entirely in 24bit/96k with a double Mid/Side rig consisting of Sennheiser MKH60/30 and 8040 mics, encoded to 5.1 Wav. A stereo option is also available at a lower price. As a bonus there is a collection of bird call spot FX taken from the recordings with noise reduction applied, for those who may need to add individual wading bird calls to their ambience.
This library contains various kinds of small to mid-size streams and waterfalls captured close and at a distance, for designing and spicing up your project. In addition, it features creepy water drips in a cave and water well pump sounds.
The Chile Faunethic sound library is a unique collection of 47 sounds recorded during a month and produced with high-quality equipment.

-City of Santiago de Chile, Puerto Montt and Valparaiso.
-Forests, always wet and rainy.
This collection provides authentic sounds recording with high-quality equipment. All Faunethic tracks includes metadata carefully edited with Soundminer. All these sounds are delivered at 24/96Khz .wav files downloadable as a zip file.
Gear Used: DPA and Neumann mics, powered by an Atea 4minX.
The Australian bush is something very close to my heart. Most of these recordings were taken on my family's property in Molong NSW.
This collection includes a large number of natural bush ambiences recorded at all times of day. There are plenty of birds, some sheep, turkeys, bees, cicadas, crickets, dogs and chickens. As well as motor vehicles on gravel, chainsaws, campfires, generators, footsteps, and even a wall construction. There is as always some random stuff fin there as well.
Recorded with a Sound Devices 633 and Sennheiser MKH8040s. The library is 2GB and includes 126 x 24bit 48kHz .wav files. Sound Miner metadata embedded.

Immerse yourself with this collection of ambisonic zoo atmospheres, comprised of animal soundscapes ranging from grumpy flamingos, screaming gibbons, loud lories, curious geese, vocal chimpanzees, amongst other residents of Lisbon’s Zoo. You’ll also find plenty of crowd recordings, ranging from very quiet and distant conversations, to people passing-by from multiple directions and chair-lift discussions, all in different languages.
The zoo’s staff was kind enough on allowing me to record before opening hours, so you’ll find neutral soundscapes because of this, alongside regular crowded ambiences, giving you flexibility on how to use these sounds for your projects.
All sounds were recorded with RØDE’s NT-SF1 ambisonic microphone and given the nature of this particular format, you can easily convert these B Format audio files onto any desired format (like regular stereo, 5.1 or 7.1 surround) with the correct plug-in, like RØDE’s own SoundField, which happens to be free to download. These are raw recordings where little to no hum or hiss removal techniques were applied.
If you wish to support the animal conservation efforts of Lisbon’s Zoo, you can do so either as a company or as an individual. Given the ever-growing labors of zoos and shelters worldwide to protect and breed endangered species, every bit of support or exposure helps. Know how you can do your part through the hyperlinks above or contact your local sanctuaries for more information.
• In Avalanche and Tree-alanche, get a powerful collection of sliding snow and ice from the pristine wilderness of the Eastern Cascades, Washington. Hear massive slabs of snow break free and tumble down mountains with majestic power. Hear chunky slides as refrigerator-sized chunks of ice careen down slopes and waterfalls of powder moving like rivers of sand. Hear tree-alanches as snow and ice plastered to branches is dislodged by sun-melt and wind. Hear hellacious debris clouds as gusts hit local canopies and dislodge snow hurricanes of powder, ice, and branches.
• This library offers you a collection of sounds from an awe inspiring natural event. Avalanches are dangerous and extremely difficult to record. They have the natural power akin to tornadoes or wildfires. I hope you enjoy listening to the roars of wintertime in the remote mountains of Washington.

These faintest of all ambiences are remarkably useful in audio production – from replacing digital silence, restoring frequency lost in processed files, to naturalizing cultural ambiences and increasing the dynamic range of your production, applying QUIETUDES will soon become a key, everyday part of your routine. The noblest application of QUIETUDES will be the raising of your audience’s awareness of the eloquence of silence.

As used here, WETLANDS include places with standing fresh water such as swamps, marshes, ponds, and lakes. In fact, it’s the water itself that creates these very special acoustic biospheres – as a propagator of sounds, causing them to travel further and louder due to surface reflections and temperature layers.
RICH WILDLIFE SYMPHONIES
WETLANDS encloses recordings of wildlife and scenery at different day times and intensities. Are you looking for recordings of birds playing and hurrying across the water? Late evening frog concerts? Rainfall lapping on the lake? The slap of a beaver tail? Let these examples give you a fair idea of what this beautiful collection has on its great content list.

Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
