Barcelona Traffic Day is the first part of the two libraries dedicated to traffic in Barcelona. Here you will find a wide collection of recordings of the city’s traffic made exclusively during the day. The second part, Barcelona Traffic Night, contains recordings made during the night.
The library is a collection of traffic ambiences of various characteristics, recorded in different areas and types of roads in the city. From the downtown to more peripheral areas, including intersections, roundabouts, fast lanes, busy streets, traffic jams with claxons and quieter situations, but always focusing on the sound of moving vehicles in the city. All sound perspectives are covered, from distant and diffuse traffic, recordings made at medium distance, to very close emplacements at street level. Some of the files have been recorded from bridges, top of buildings or balconies trying to avoid the proximity of pedestrians and closer elements other than pure traffic. You will also find a few traffic ambiences with rain and some others that include pedestrians and other urban elements.
The files have been carefully embedded with metadata and tagged with markers to facilitate the search for items such as claxons or ambulance’s sirens. They also include the coordinates of the recording spots.
The library has been recorded at 96kHz / 24 bit with a Double MS kit from Schoeps, and dematrixed with the Schoeps Double MS plug in to obtain the 5.0 files. The stereo version of the library is a downmix of the 5.0 files.

Famous for its gourmet food, fine wines, stunning architecture, famous monuments and fashion, Paris is an incredibly beautiful European city which attracts visitors from all over the world, be it for a romantic getaway or a cultural break. We wandered around this vast city recording a huge collection of varied ambiences to bring you an audio snapshot of the bustling French city and its unique soundscapes.
Travel with us from the banks of the River Seine, high up the Eiffel tower and on to the affluent neighbourhood of Passy before heading to the cobbled streets of Montmartre through to Pigalle and the Moulin Rouge.
Along the way we captured busy city centre streets brimming with both locals and tourists, heavy traffic featuring lots of bicycles and motorbikes, both favourite modes of transport for Parisians, quiet back streets, urban parks and restaurants full of diners. We also made sure to record transport hubs like Charles de Gaulle Airport, train stations and the Paris Metro to ensure you have everything you need for projects requiring sounds of the French capital.
Immerse yourself with this collection of ambisonic zoo atmospheres, comprised of animal soundscapes ranging from grumpy flamingos, screaming gibbons, loud lories, curious geese, vocal chimpanzees, amongst other residents of Lisbon’s Zoo. You’ll also find plenty of crowd recordings, ranging from very quiet and distant conversations, to people passing-by from multiple directions and chair-lift discussions, all in different languages.
The zoo’s staff graciously allowed me to record before opening hours, resulting in neutral soundscapes alongside the regular crowded ambiences. This gives you flexibility in how you can use these sounds for your projects.
This sound library is available in both Ambisonics FuMa (B Format) and Stereo (Binaural) formats.
If you wish to support the animal conservation efforts of Lisbon’s Zoo, you can do so either as a company or as an individual. Given the ever-growing labors of zoos and shelters worldwide to protect and breed endangered species, every bit of support or exposure helps. Know how you can do your part through the hyperlinks above or contact your local sanctuaries for more information.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
