Brand New Sci-Fi Ambiences from The Library by Empty Sea. 6+ GB, 150+ sounds, almost 3 hours of material, all 96k, all looped for easy use.
This library is a bit different from the rest. Dx (“Diagnostic”) is a grouping of different audiometric and audiological elements in a neat, diversified package. Our goal was to aggregate audio tests from multiple disciplines and build them into a one-stop-shop collection that most sound designers, engineers, researchers, and artists could utilize as a mainstay in their audio toolbox.
In this collection you will find sets of: binaural beats, audiometric sweeps, full frequency sweeps, multi-spectrum noise, spatializations, resonance tones, impulses, dynamics tests, intermodulated distortion tests, aliasing tests, phase tests, and a few fun examples just for kicks.
These diagnostic sounds are provided in 96kHz/24-bit, 48kHz/24-bit, and 44.1kHz/16-bit resolutions. There are various length and loudness combinations as well, so you don't have to edit these files to use them for their intended tests. That being said, this diagnostic audio can also be used very quick and precise ways in layered SFX designs. Because they are so specific in their development, they can be used with an automatic mathematic disregard…and that, is a good thing.
Quick, clean, and precise. Enjoy.
The AUDIO IMPERIA “Dystopian Dreams” cinematic tool kit series is specifically designed for modern post-apocalyptic and science fiction campaigns and offers a wide variety of sounds and effects.
For Volume 1 we turned to renowned producer Histibe, well known for his outstanding sound design talents. His works have been published on notable platforms such as Vimeo Staff Picks, JAY Z's Life+Times, UKF, DJ Mag, Dezeen, Complex, BBC, OFFF Festival, Loopmasters and many others. Together we created a cinematic tool kit that will provide you with the perfect set of go-to sounds for your project.
We spent countless hours on designing these sounds, drawing inspiration from movies like Maze Runner, Mad Max: Fury Road, Oblivion, I am Legend, 28 Days Later, Terminator Genisys, Priest, World War Z and TV shows like Heroes, Supernatural and The Walking Dead.
Dystopian Dreams requires the full version of Kontakt 220.127.116.11 or higher (the patches will not run in the free Kontakt Player)

You can choose between different types of drones ranging from intense pulsating ones, dynamic and evolving ones to the constant drones. Get a collection of otherworldly sounds from a very special instrument / rig, custom-designed by Tim Nielsen and Jeff Davis. From low and thunderous, to high and piercing, it generates sounds quite unlike anything else out there.
Eerie Forest is a collection of subtle ambiences recorded at night in dense forests in the regions of Transylvania and Moldova, Romania over two trips in Spring and Autumn 2017. The library features soft wind, distant hum, vegetation rustles, dogs barking at various distances, church bells tolling, a variety of owl species and other birds like ravens and woodcocks. All these elements are not foreground, but rather washed-out, echoey and atmospheric.
Eerie Forest is not suitable for foreground sound elements as the recordings are very soft and subtle. Make sure you check out the demos before you purchase.
In this collection you'll find EMF captured from devices like: phones, TVs, hard drives, Playstation 3s, MacBooks, printers, scanners, juicers, pencil sharpeners, frequency counters, digital sweep function generators, camcorders, VCRs, DVD players, DSLRs, network routers, mixing consoles, and MUCH MORE!
Endless Drones is a diverse set of 100 multi-layered atmospheres and mangled drone textures, that will help you portray an unsettling sense of mood or establish a unique sense of location in your projects.
All sounds are formed from field recordings and organic sound elements that are spliced, mixed and merged with synthetic tones and low-end rumble sources, using extensive processing and advanced production techniques.
Some of the most interesting real-world elements that have been used are city hum noises, roaring factory ambiences, radio statics, cicadas, water flows, howling winds, spooky waves of laughter, horse galloping sounds, nasty metal scrapes, and slides, tape wrapping sounds around the gears and rainscapes.
It’s my pleasure to introduce you to this dense library of accomplished and cacophonous sounds. This is a dramatic and horror filled library, teaming with tension and ghostly ambience, stingers and hits.
Most of these sounds have been used in film and television in one form or another. They’re more than just “designy sounds”.
These are intended to create a score of tension that can help you build a scene to it’s full potential. These sounds add movement within the soundtrack, especially with the drones. When creating sounds, I like to inject some sort of movement within the sound itself, so that it’s never stagnant or ‘still’ sounding.
So if you’re looking to notch your project up a level with dark, moody and expressive design, this is a good bet for you. Hopefully you’ll have as much inspiration as I did when creating these.
AUDIO IMPERIA strikes again with “Event Horizon”, a new library featuring futuristic, electronic sounds, synths and effects, all delivered in high definition 96kHz / 24bit. Welcome to “Flute” a simple but beautiful collection of 30 atmospheric soundscapes (24 Bit / 96 kHz, WAV, 1,3 GB) created using a tin whistle and a bamboo transverse flute.
Thanks to his peaceful and meditative tone this collection is great for fantasy productions or for creating a calm mood. You can use the sounds to create a musical bed for music tracks too, making the pack a versatile addition to your collection.
Each soundscape has a duration of 1:11 minutes.
As a bonus I included the sources (24 sfx) used to create the sounds in the library.
With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
A Sound Effect is a great resource for keeping up on what's out there in the SFX library world. The site is well organized and it's easy to find stuff.
I love the behind the scenes articles - and the ability to purchase directly through the site is super convenient. The process is very straight forward and painless. I recommend it all the time.
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
