– Noise Reduction Plug-in
MR Gate is a full featured expander/gate that can be used to gate noise during quiet sections. It’s a very comprehensive gate implementation with adjustable lookahead, variable ratio, attack and decay times, etc. In addition, it has a scrolling time display that shows the level of the input signal and the gate attenuation, very handy for setting up the parameters. Also, it has a monitor feature that lets you hear the gated signal which is kind of cool for listening to the background without the foreground.
All files are recorded 32bit, 192 kHz, with RØDE NTG1 and FEL Clippy XLR EM272 microphones, Sound Devices MixPre-6 II recorder. Library contains wav files of driving and exterior foley, mechanical and electrical sounds.
During these last months we have recorded several Ambisonic room tones. This is a small selection of the best Room tones In IMMERSIVE format!
We choose ambisonic for our libraries as the most adaptive format in Audio Postproduction. We serve the edited and mastered AMBIX files, and decoded surround format in Dolby ATMOS, 5.1 and STÂ .
We recorded around 29 beautiful tracks in ambisonic format, 48Khz and 24 bits HD. As always, top quality recordings specially designed for film audio projects.
All our libraries are UCS compliant (universalcategorysystem.com). In this new category system all files contain extensive metadata like file description, Category & Subcategory. Metadata can be read and processed by the most common audio libraries management tools . Starting with Full support from Soundminer and more audio tools adopting this system, we are adopting metadata UCS system in our files!
All files are recorded 32bit, 192 kHz, with RØDE NTG1 and FEL Clippy XLR EM272 microphones, Sound Devices MixPre-6 II recorder. Library contains wav files of driving, mechanical and electrical sounds.
Australian Rules Football or AFL is one of the most popular sports in Australia – and the crowds are incredibly enthusiastic. This library of football sports crowds was recorded at a major stadium from various perspectives – from being a part of the mob where you can hear individual voices, all the way to top level where the cheers become a massive roar of thousands of voices.
With over an hour of content, this should have all the moments and perspectives that you need. There’s elated cheers, boos, gasps, chants and everything in between. There’s even some swearing – but don’t worry, that’s in a clearly marked folder and tagged in the metadata so that you can filter those files out if you need it to be family friendly. Plus for when you need to hit the ground running, there’s a 6 minute loop-able ambience punctuated with both highs and lows.
To top it all off there’s some recordings of crowd ambiences around the venue, including hallways, turnstiles and even outside the stadium. Lastly there’s my personal favourite: several recordings of the iconic AFL siren.
This is a great package filled with authentic Australian accents audible in the close up recordings – but in the middle and far perspectives all those voices becomes a massive wash that will blend nicely with other crowd libraries from any other sport and country.

This is a vintage classic and highly sought after make and model of cafe racer. It’s just enough grit to give some bite and just enough age to give it character. This library includes drive bys, static revs, city driving, straight aways, engine braking, and more! With two very different sounding and unique microphone perspectives on the exhaust and engine you get a variety of options to choose from. Enjoy this rippin’ classic!
This Suzuki SV motorcycle is modified from the original with a beefier exhaust. It sounds unique by itself but with two different perspectives on the exhaust and engine you get total control of what elements you want. Each engine and exhaust recording has a custom blend option so you don’t have to make any edits, they’re ready to go. This library includes drive bys at various speeds up to 60 MPH, static revs, moving revs, idling, engine on, engine off, engine braking, and more! Add this grizzly motorcycle to your library for some mad maxian, dystopian goodness!
Finalist – Best Sound Effects Libary – Indie Sound Awards 2022
The sound ‘Kind Creature’ made with the V7 library won the British Sound of the Year Award presented by The Museum Of Sound and The New BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
Custom made sounds made with the V7 are used in the scores for Control, Wolfenstein and newer projects by award winning game composer Martin Stig Andersen.
V7 is a home-built metal spring sound-tool made from an old measurement-unit found at a flea market. Now – disassembled, rebuilt and mounted amongst other things with a 33 foot long Giant Spring that connects the measurement box to an open metal staircase and creates a natural spring reverb.
I Played with a bow, friction rubber clubs, metal slides, whipped cream gas cartridges and a souvenir Eiffel Tower.
The result is a unique sound effect library of massive metallic hits, gongs, scrapes, squeaks, friction, rumbles and rattles. From subtle, soft squeaks and harsh, brutal metal shrieks to long and deep musical metal moans.
V7 is recorded with an Ehrlund EHR-E microphone placed inside the metal box. All files are in 96 kHz/24 bit and contains the original acoustic recordings.
73 files with 700 + individual sounds – all tagged with detailed Universal Category System (UCS) metadata.

Japan: Bullet Trains is a collection of exterior recordings and interior ambiences of a variety of Japanese bullet trains which includes passbys, arrivals, idles, departures and ride ambiences.
The shinkansen, or bullet train, is a symbol of Japan’s economic and technological prowess. Streaking by at speeds of up to 200mph, their sound pierces over miles of empty farmland. In rare spots where you can get near the tracks, the air pressure bursts of these trains passing by can knock you off-balance.
Recording coverage between models vary quite a bit, so please check the tracklist to get a sense of what is available per bullet train model.
Note: The W7 series bullet trains were recorded within their first month entering service, well before they had time to wear-in.
Models represented in this collection:
(Dates indicate the service years for the model, not the specific age of the train recorded)
These recordings were originally part of the Japan Sound Effects Collection Kickstarter campaign that was successfully funded in 2015.
All recordings have meticulously written Soundminer metadata embedded in them and comply with Universal Category System naming standards. Included in the download folder is also an excel file and CSV file with all of the metadata fields.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
