Newsreel Noises features a collection of unwanted Noises, Rumbles, Hums & Crackles – collected when digging through copies of newsreels from the the 40ies and 50ies of the last century. Whenever such a newsreel starts or ends a lot of sidenoises occur and each one plays another pattern of mysterious sounds. The library is organised into 10 categories:
* Cadenced, Crackle, Hum, Impulse, Noise, Pulsed, Rattle, Rhythmical, Shuttle, Tonal
The library delivers more than 150 WAV-files with embedded loop points. Each file has a descriptive name where the first part describes the strongest element of the sound and the second part gives additional informations about the structure of each sound.
Night Cityscapes delivers the urban sounds of a sleeping city. The collection includes more than 3 hours of night and early morning ambiences that are recorded in Sofia, Bulgaria. All recordings were made between 01:30 and 05:30 am. This collection will uncover city in a way you may not know.
You will find atmospheres of quiet and empty small streets in the city center, where can be heard some air conditioners, urban hum and light traffic in the far background.
Lonely sounds of traffic lights. One single taxi passes and disappears into the night, and then it is followed by silence. Empty streets and squares with distant voices and footsteps going somewhere. Major boulevards with light night traffic. Industrial empty streets, where electric buzz and big air conditioners can be heard.
Very, very early morning atmospheres filled with singing birds eager to foreshadow the beginning of a new day.
‘Night Cityscapes’ will fill the missing part of your nocturnal urban atmospheres.

‘Nightlife’ is an collection of authentic nightclub based crowd ambiences, professionally recorded over an entire evening outside a busy and popular nightlife location in London.
This unique library captures audible moments beginning with a few small groups of revellers, excitable but sober as they arrive for their evening out. Then the ambiences journey through to the earlier hours of the next morning and throwing out time, when larger crowds emerge louder, looser and perhaps drunker than before.
These expressive tracks perfectly capture the atmosphere of a night evolving, featuring genuine nightlife walla and including ‘spot’ type effects of reactions such as; whoops, shouts, cheers and screams.
All sounds in the ‘Nightlife’ SFX pack have been recorded in high-quality 24bit, 96kHz using Sound Devices recorders and DPA microphones. In addition, each individual file has been tagged with detailed Soundminer metadata to speed up workflow and increase organisation.
Everyone needs some good whooshing, but sometimes you just want a whoosh that will cut right through the crap. This pack does not contain earth moving cinematic slams, but rather crispy, bright, swishes, swooshes and whooshes designed for television, radio and internet use.
We figured 99 whooshes was a good start to get you out of trouble, and we've provided a wide range of sounds, from nice clean wipes and slides to more complex textural sounds. Each file contains a single whoosh so you can grab the one you like and throw it on your timeline.
All files are 24 bit / 48kHz .wav files and are Sound Miner metadata embedded. Enjoy!

Whether your need to bring a lone rogue to life or a surge of arrows in an epic battle scene, Nocked will provide you with a plethora of flexible content.
Our largest library to date, this collection is a comprehensive focus on the sounds and functions of the archer and the act of archery. Included are eight recorded bows (2 crossbows, olympic recurve, traditional recurve, longbow, long compound, short compound, and Magyar bow) with 2 additional 'mythic' bows of our own design, each using 3 types of arrows (aluminum, carbon, and bamboo) on 3 varying surfaces (hard, soft, and dirt) from 4 simultaneous recording positions (at bow, at target, midflight mono, and midflight stereo). Each bow and each arrow type have a character all there own.
The content’s dynamic range is wide, from whispering bamboo arrows gliding on rests as they are drawn to firing position, to the powerful THWACK of crossbow bolts striking their target. All non-firing sounds were recorded in a controlled studio environment while all recordings of the bows being fired were taken on a plot of wide-open rural farmland, encompassed by forests. When needed, this ambient natural environment provided an ideal impulse response to be used in the design and editing of some of the sounds to create a heightened effect.
A multitude of takes are provided across each bow/arrow/surface/position combination for easy randomization and differentiation of sounds, or to track any number of unique archers at any given moment.
Go ahead, let them fight in the shade.

Featuring a very special (and spatial) library. If you want true natural interior noises, Noisy Buildings delivers. The pack contains high quality sound files, recorded in abandoned spaces. This first volume represents rumble and rattle sounds, perfectly suited for psychedelic and horror madness – or just when you want to create an unsettling atmosphere. The sounds are rich in natural reverbation, which is specific for large and medium building spaces. For example, you can find very loud and strange sounds of breaking windows, falling into the elevator shaft.
Sit back, relax, and listen to all the sounds a car makes. No, not the hum of the engine, not the tire squeal either, but everything else. Non-Engine Sonata Noises includes sounds (noises) of various button, switches, compartments, doors, slams, and even an automatic seat inside a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. These are the features you interact with ever time you step and sit inside the car, but get drowned out by the frustrations of traffic and stop lights. This pack totals 56 sound files with over 1224 sounds recorded in MS using the Sennheiser MKH8050 and MKH30.
Flip on the heated seat switch, and search through meta-data tagged using Soundly and Basehead.

Normal, everyday door sounds? Yes – and lots (and lots) of them!
A door opening or closing in a film/tv show/video game can absolutely take you out of the experience if done incorrectly.
At the end of working on Uncharted 4, the last sound I created was a door opening and closing. It was just a normal household door. I couldn't find any good door opening and closing sounds (and creaks…don't get me started). I also didn't have time to go out and record my own source. I was extremely frustrated.
There are a LOT of different types of doors in this world. Most sound libraries try to record ALL varieties of doors. The problem is that you might have a lot of different and unique doors, but only a couple of NORMAL house doors. Or, they just have a couple of NORMAL industrial doors. A sound designer's worst nightmare is lack of variety and choice.
With that in mind, I went on a personal journey to record all the normal doors I could find. I recorded door openings, closings, squeaks and creaks. That's it! I wanted the largest variety of normal house and industrial door openings/closings/creaks/squeaks on the market. For my next projects, I didn't want a door sound getting me frustrated!
• Normal Household Door sound effects
• Normal Industrial Door sound effects
• 1400+ Sounds
• 120+ Doors
• Opening, Closing, Squeaking and Creaking
• Stereo 96Khz, 24 bit – 2.48 GB

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
