The Pontiac GTO sound fx collection includes 606 sounds in 27.05 gigabytes of audio. It features the sound of a 400 c.i. 335 horsepower V8 engine from a 1967 model of the American car.
A total of 26 takes depict both onboard and exterior perspectives. 14 onboard perspectives (15 channels) share exhaust, engine, and interior microphone recordings (including an Ambisonic POV) of steady RPMs, gearshifts, and ramps. The 8 exterior perspectives (18 channels) include departures, arrivals, and passes by at slow, medium, and fast speeds. The collection also showcases a variety of performed effects (doors, horns, etc).
The sound bundle includes Pro Tools and Reaper sessions with all takes pre-aligned, raw impulse responses of the interior cabin, and 3 ready-to-use designed stereo mixes of the interior, exhaust, and engine microphones. Every clip is embedded with 18 fields of professional metadata.
The “Cedar” library series is a collection of libraries, comprised of three different instruments:
– Ponticello (the present one)
– Sul Tasto
Each volume is a single Kontakt instrument with a peculiar timbral personality. The entire series is created recording sounds from a luthier classical guitar. They can be used for composing and producing purposes – like an acoustic percussion setup – as well as for soundtrack composition and sound design in films, video games and any other multimedia product. “Ponticello” and “Sul Tasto” also feature a dedicated effects page that can be used to process the sounds in the library with several processors, both send and insert effects. They are “percussion oriented” sounds, while “Bizzarro” is a keyboard instrument.
Introduction to “Ponticello”
The instrument contains 10 sets of sounds, called “Engines”. Each set has a dedicated channel strip in the interface and can be processed with a dedicated sub-page. You can also choose an individual audio output for further processing in your favorite DAW with effect plugins of your choice. Each sound has been recorded with two different mic placements, and you can mix them to your taste.

Two Guys, three microphones, and a mountain of bubble wrap. What else to do but record the knuckle popping, transient heavy, tiny air explosion created by the ever calming sound of Bubble Wrap. This library was recorded in collaboration another fan of Bubble Wrap, Adam Carl. Microphones used was the Sennheiser MKH60, Sennheiser MKH8050- both exported as mono .wav files. The stereo microphone used and exported was the Audio Technica AT2022. How many variations of popping can you create? Between the two versions included in this pack, original and reduced reverb, 2483+ sounds per pack over three microphones 828 sounds per microphone, or 4966 Combined are packed waiting to be popped!
Why did we include almost 3 hours of total sound in a bubble wrap library? When you include the squeaking of blowing on the corners or rubbing two bubbles between fingers, clicking a pen pops, popping using a drill, and even filling the bubble with water using a syringe. Other secret sounds include popping inside a metal trash can- similar to sounds of bullets ricocheting off metal, popping wrapped in tin foil, and stretching.
All sounds are exported either in mono (Sennheiser) or stereo (Audio Technica) and meta-data tagged using Soundly and Basehead.

Very in-depth recording of a Porsche 911 SC 1981 with the 3.0 liter engine. It is rated 204 horsepower at 5900rpm. The car has the 5-speed 915 gearbox. The recording includes all kinds of driving at different speeds, cruising, startups, shutdowns, reversing, driving at constant rpms, various accelerations and decelerations, ramps and even faked unsteady bad driving. Lots of foley is also included like doors, hoods, switches and knobs, horn, seatbelt, electric windows and more.
Approx 25 channels out of which 8 channels are inboards covering interior, engine and exhausts.
The exterior microphones are positioned at different spots around the recording location and covers approaches, aways, passbys and more at different speeds.
A fun trivia is that this library was used for the main character’s car in the Swedish version of the TV-series “The Bridge”. Total recording time is 75min 28s.

SSL14 Porto City Sounds is one of our recording travel projects, captured in Porto, Portugal during a 3-days visit to the country. The Surround Sound LAB team traveled to Porto just to record the main essence of this city.
This library contains the main character of the lovely city: Boats, trains, wine and history in one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal.

Recordings of a potato gun made of PVC tubes (one barrel connected to a combustion chamber) and using hair spray for combustion. Shots are triggered manually by a lighter producing a sparkle in the combustion chamber.
This library consists of 32 shots in various configurations: with projectiles (apples), without projectiles, without the barrel, and finally with the combustion chamber opened. Sounds for this library were recorded over 5 sessions – in a private zoo and in the field, all in cooperation with professional birds trainers. All of them were recorded outdoor (and just a few in an outdoor aviary). Trainers helped us to get variety of bird calls and vocalisations, like: shriek, cry, squawk, screech, whistle, scream.
Three sessions, were recorded extremely close to birds on very quiet big field. The intention was to grab very isolated and rich sounds, useful for sound design. For this sessions we used Sanken CO-100k and Sennheiser MKH-8060, which were super close (just a few centimeters away from brids beaks) and Schoeps CMC-6XT MK41 a bit wider for more natural/open sound. Although sometimes Sanken and Sennheiser sound very similiar (they were in similar position), we left both files. Sanken recordings (@192kHz) are amazing for pitch shifting, yet sounds recorded by Sennheiser are very natural in neutral pitch.
When pitch shifted, all sounds become very evocative and emotional sound design sources.
All files contain natural sequences and rhythms of calls. There are also close wing flaps, movements and even sounds of birds eating recorded in macro close POV.
The library is extensively metatagged in Soundminer.

Print Shop is a SFX & Ambiance pack containing a lot of great material from a big industrial print shop. The Soundcatcher recorded 4 different printing machines, Print Shop Ambiances in ORTF and a lot of really nice subsonic stuff with two contact microphones. Our hockey crowds were recorded over the course of an NHL season and were done with unprecedented access. Entire games were recorded from various locations including:

– in the upper level seats in the hallway
– outside the doors pre and post game
– in the platinum level bar
– under the bleachers
– from the top of the penalty boxes
Each location was recorded in beautiful dual ORTF or double MS quad.
