  • Mechanical Sound Effects Anarchy Play Track 204+ sounds included, 195 mins total $23

The booming and serrated voice of a 100th anniversary edition American classic is upon you. And this Fat Boy had quite a lot to say. Mostly in a dialect of deliciously loud and explosive transients.

You’ll find that this library not only covers glorious engine dynamics and potato-y straight pipes, but also various switches, mechanics, linkages, electrical functions, the horn, and even a guardian bell. There are pass-bys and encircled recordings in both mono and MS formats (the latter of which are left raw for you to decode at gain and width settings appropriate to your needs), static running captures, and a structure of engine throttling that can give you delicate control over the engine’s power.

  • The sound designer's secret weapon! These files have been used a LOT by us at Double Trouble Audio when we've needed some heavy punchiness to our sound effects. Punchy Cardboard is a collection of high quality cardboard sounds processed with tape to make a really organic sound that can help you sound a lot more punchy.

We’ve also processed all the sounds with three different levels of analogue saturation, which is a great and affordable way to add an analog uniqueness to your sound effects.

This pack really shines when layered with explosions, impacts, car crashes, slaps and fights. Anything that needs that extra oomph!

    Sounds included:
    • Cardboard Gnarl (7 sounds * 3 tape variations)
    • Cardboard Hit (54 sounds * 3 tape variations)
    • Cardboard Rumble (6 sounds * 3 tape variations)
    • Cardboard Saw (17 sounds * tape variations)
    • Cardboard Squeak (2 sounds * 3 tape variations)

  • Whoosh Sound Effects Tubular Play Track 365 sounds included, 62 mins total $28

This library is the result of tinkering with shotgun mics recording inside of different tube structures. When our initial tests produced a wide range of sonic colors, we went all in.

The tubes used include organic and man-made materials, some rigid, some flexible, some dense, some light, all with varying lengths, diameters, and thicknesses. They consist of bamboo, PVC, 2 variations of vinyl, thin plastic, copper, tin, rubber, dense foam, and a steel-coiled membrane. Each material has a different effect on the sounds passing through them. We generated turbulent drones, thick strikes, resonant scrapes, noisy bells, delicate debris, and more. The overarching characteristics are soft, insulated, and misty. Due to the behavior of the waves in the open tubes and the pickup pattern of the shotgun mics, there is a natural frequency modulation that gives the sound a slightly narrowed, hollow timbre. They work very well in simulated settings, enclosed spaces, and when there is a need to exaggerate the magnitude of tiny worlds. But they are equally as useful as raw design fodder, especially when a unique texture is needed.

This is our first library created solely for the sake of experimentation, though based on the results, it may not be the last!

    Speeds and actions:
Three speeds. Departures from slow, medium to fast getaways. Arrivals from slow stops with gently squeaking handbrakes to heavy stuttering skids.

    Five perspectives:
    1. Onboard Front: captures the whirring tire and surface sound.

All Passbys, Arrivals and Departures move from Left to Right.

    Metadata & Markers:
Because we know how important metadata is for your sound libraries we have created a consistent and intuitive description method. This allows you to find the sound you need easily, whether you work in a database like Soundminer/Basehead/PT Workspace work, or a Exporer/Finder window.

However, we are aware that some people have different needs for different purposes, so we’ve created a Metadata Reference Guide that explains the structure. And because we’ve automated the metadata proces, you can be confident that a ‘find & replace’ command will always replace all instances.

    Download our Metadata Reference Guide

If you have any questions about this, contact us!

Additionally, we added Markers to some wave files, so specific sound events are easy to spot in Soundminer or other database apps.
