  • Foley Sound Effects SKIN Play Track 3277 sounds included $25

This idea was created with efficiency and budget in mind. On independent films we don't always have the luxury of budgeting out an extensive amount of foley. There are tons of resources for cutting cloth, props, and footsteps, but there are none for actions of the human body in every day situations. In this comprehensive library you will find touches, pats, scratches, slides, clasps, slaps, and so many other common actions involving skin that will help bring realism to your projects.

    Metadata & Markers:
Because we know how important metadata is for your sound libraries we have created a consistent and intuitive description method. This allows you to find the sound you need easily, whether you work in a database like Soundminer/Basehead/PT Workspace work, or a Exporer/Finder window.

However, we are aware that some people have different needs for different purposes, so we’ve created a Metadata Reference Guide that explains the structure. And because we’ve automated the metadata proces, you can be confident that a ‘find & replace’ command will always replace all instances.

    Download our Metadata Reference Guide

    Download complete metadata PDF

If you have any questions about this, contact us!

Additionally, we added Markers to some wave files, so specific sound events are easy to spot in Soundminer or other database apps.

  • Percussion Instruments Cymbals From Hell Vol. 2 Play Track 141+ sounds included, 102 mins total $51

Cymbals From Hell Vol. 2 is a haunting collection of raw and designed gong sounds, brought to you as the successor to one of our most popular horror libraries to date. Crafted from various types of gong recordings, this library brings you the creepiest stingers and harshest resonances to terrorise your audiences.

Made in collaboration with Igor Tikhonov from KEDR Audio, who captured various types of gong sounds and several performances using both Mid-Side and omnidirectional A/B microphone techniques to encapsulate an expansive stereo-field and the richest gong textures.

Our Audio Craftsmen then meticulously edited and designed them to make the most frightening and disturbing sounds including harsh, distorted gong rumbles, horror stingers, low heavy gong rumbles, mangled hits, and much, much more.

All the sounds are extensively meta-tagged and are UCS complaint so you can easily find the sound you need and are in 192kHz/24bit allowing for further sonic manipulation.

  • Fully over 6 tons of metal was pummelled during the making of this sound library. Prepare for some serious metal impact recordings with this massive SFX collection that will be the go-to for game sound design, trailers, and film. Recorded over several months with precision recording techniques and discerning ears, this hard-hitting, vast library will serve any serious sound designer well for years to come.

    Capturing Intense Metal Impacts

After recording a few dozen metal impact sounds with a standard close-mic recording setup, we were just not getting the next-level quality we wanted for this library. The recordings had an overbearing proximity feel and the sharpness of the transients was fatiguing our ears. With time, experimentation and a lot of listening we found a formula which changed the game completely. We want to share some of our findings with you!

    Microphone Setup Positioning 1

Using a stereo pair of Sennheiser mkh 8040s feeding into a Mix Pre 6, the first step was to change up the mic positions into some balanced but unusually placed, more distanced configurations. For the sound pressure levels (SPL) that the impacts were throwing out, mid-distance recording positions were providing a broader frequency, more balanced overall feel. It might be obvious, but taking the time to position the mics and find where the nodes of sound waves are most interesting is key. At this point in our setup, the captures of the old metal cabinet we were pounding already started producing some very interesting results.

    Microphone Setup Positioning 2

Getting within striking distance of the quality target, we still found that the recordings were not celebrating that resonant bass personality that is particular to metal objects and surfaces. To address this, we brought in a LOM Geophon contact mic which we do recommend to pick up low end frequencies beautifully. Positioning the Geophon at different nodal points on the metal surface – which was entirely different for each surface used – we started getting some well balanced low end into the recordings. The captures were really starting to get to where they needed to be; the bass was there, the frequency range was there, and above all, the complex personality of the metal impacts was really pouring through the headsets. Almost there, some truly fantastic audio captures.

    Microphone Setup Positioning 3

The final touch was added to the recording setup when a fourth microphone, a shotgun Rode NTG2, was added to the mix. The shotgun mic was pointed directly at the source of the impact with mid-low input gain to bring in a present but balanced transient into the impact recordings. Absolute magic – the quality target was achieved and even surpassed. For recordings like these we can definitely recommend multiple microphone positions, and a high quality contact mic is essential. For each object and surface used in this Metal Impacts SFX Library, either one of the recording formula described above was used to capture the best sounding metal impacts, shakes, resonances, rattles and rings you will ever own.

Most sounds were captured below 110 St. and prominently in the Lower East and West Village. There are a multitude of police and firetruck sirens at varying distances as well as some not so common areas like the Intrepid Pier and the Hudson River Heliport ambience.

I’ve also included some extensive subway rides. All boring bits were edited out for a strong final product. There are multiple train rides with various levels of walla and PA announcements.

One thing that is very common in NYC during the summer months are the rain and thunderstorms. I’ve included a number of wet traffic, distant thunderstorms and heavy rains.

All in all this is a good representation of New York’s streets and subway systems.

  • Mechanical Sound Effects Meridian Play Track 86 sounds included, 200 mins total $23

Inspired by the ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) community, this collection includes 43 mono/stereo pairs of whispers, scratches, taps, rubs, breathing, buzzing, and more. The general goal of ASMR is to induce a bodily response from the auditory stimuli, much like a shiver, chill, or euphoric wave. From an auditory perspective, this is usually approached by using delicate, intimate sounds in a repetitive manner; known as ‘triggers’.

The files are all loopable, averaging ~2’20” in length, so you can leave them on repeat for a continuous ASMR experience. This also allows a sound designer to drop them into any environment where they need an indiscernible loop. The mono+stereo pairing allows for creating the appropriate stereo spread (or eliminating it all together) that a particular event requires. For some of the more common triggers, we provided a few variations.

Definitely intending to be a unique addition to your sonic anthology, this library will provide you with hours of evocative ear candy.
