This library was created to provide designers with drag and drop sounds for sweeps, fades, surges, swells, and other embellishments. Each of the sounds in this collection were designed to be used to heighten events, but they can be mashed, stacked, and chopped to create all sorts of eclectic designs. There are plays on musical concepts as well as thematic events, with each sound purposefully building up, culminating in a peak moment, and then dissipating in some way. They are organized into 100 families (designs) with 5 variations each, ranging wildly in topic, movement, duration, dynamics, attack, release, loudness, density, and speed. Some are natural and organic while others are completely rigid and synthetic (and some fall variably in between).
If you need to festoon the heck out of a scene or event in your project…If you need some complex SFX designs craftily layered and ready-to-go…If you need a diverse set of easy-to-tweak, overflowing sonic enrichment, then look no further. You’ve found it.
Mountain Rivers sound effects library is about strong, running water, which gains its power from waterfalls. The water falls from big heights and after it comes to the earth, it continues as a fast creek with a lot of water, or as we say “mountain river”. These recordings were made in the one of the most beautiful places in the World, Yosemite National Park.
In the centre of Yosemite Park we can find Merced River (which is 145 miles / 233 km long), surrounded by mountains and waterfalls. Recordings of the Merced River were made from 12 various points and some of them includes recordings which were made with various distances. Also the Mountain Rivers library contains recordings from the bottom of two waterfalls: Bridalveil and Yosemite. Most of these waterfalls recordings were made from the middle of the bridges, the best place for getting awesome panoramic atmosphere.
Bridalveil Fall Bottom (Bridalveil Creek): 3 recordings from 2 bridges and a 4th recording from the side of the mountain river.
Merced River: 12 recordings from 8 points include 1 / 5 / 15 / 20 / 50 meter distances from the mountain river.
Yosemite Fall Bottom (Yosemite Fall Creek): 2 recordings from the bridge in the centre of the mountain river from 2 meters and additional recordings where river was surrounded by rocks with great and unique reverb effect.
Clocks is a small unique sound library – not recorded from traditional clocks but of edited sounds that tick tock. These recordings come from items such as a tape measure, door locking, screwdriver, and much more.
Recorded in 96kHz / 24 bit – All sounds are one minute long, loopable files.
Disclaimer: Music in the audio demo is not included in the product.
Introducing the ultimate roller coaster sound library: Roller Coaster Sound Builder includes high-quality recordings from 5 different roller coasters, from classic steel coasters to aggressive impulse coaster. This huge collection includes clean roller coaster passbys, onboard recordings, and classic roller coaster screams.
Roller coaster pass by sounds were recorded without background noise in an amusement park that was closed to the public. A great amount of natural screams with different intensities is also included, recorded during a regular summer day in the amusement park.
This collection provides unique, hard-to-access source material in high-quality, with a large amount of takes for creative sound design. We worked hard to capture as much useful material as we could when we had full access to the rides. All sounds were recorded in Särkänniemi amusement park, Tampere, Finland. Also available in the special Complete Amusement Park Sound Bundle.
Get the sounds of switches, buttons, knobs and handles – recorded inside an old, retired flight simulator donated to the Danish Technical Museum.
This machine used to make aspiring pilots sweat in their seats, putting them through all sorts of mechanical failures, emergency landings, and just plain flying.
There is basically a switch, button, knob or handle to start every single possible emergency situation a pilot and crew may encounter when flying.
When the sound recording started, some of them were partly broken, and others missing, some did not turn or switch, but most of them were still there and worked beautifully. The variety is surprisingly great, and very different from today's modern switch sounds.
91 tracks, recorded with a Sennheiser 416 onto a Sounddevices 702, all tracks Metadata tagged.
Get the sounds of crazy accelerations, drifting, wild breaking, screechy tires and more – captured from several different perspectives on a race track.
Small trickles, to gentle streams, raging rivers, waterfalls, and the Pacific Ocean (in Hawaii and Oregon). Many are quite long and are a perfect long background to a water-related section of your film or project.
The journey continues. This time we focused our attention on resonant chambers, unusual small-spaces, rooms and corridors (spiced with unique tonal character). These impulse responses will put your instruments in tight-spaces that are unreachable in the real world.
Including organic, futuristic environments and psychedelic chambers, all surprisingly fitting in a natural way. Just for this project, we pushed granular synthesis to the limits, mixing it with great sounding analog gear and a handful of our special algorithms, to make sure we delivered the most versatile and dynamics-rich product. Everything is ready for professional use, right out of the box; thanks to the precisely controlled tonality of the IRs.
You won’t find anything like this in any other place, and we are fully proud of it. Just try it.
The Seagulls sfx library includes 28 tracks of both single, isolated seagull screams, and bigger flocks of nesting seagulls, calling out to each other and their chicks. There are plenty of classic call sounds, but also some weird throaty and raspy screaming, and what could sound like seagull laughing sounds.
All tracks are recorded with the very useful zoom function of the Telinga microphone and dish.
Library includes both untreated tracks, and noise reduction processed tracks in two separate folders. Noise reduction processed tracks have carefully been cleaned up with a CEDAR NR system.
Though these birds are in an abundance around most harbours and industry around here, they are not always easy to record. You mostly hear them from a distance, or from places not easy to access. When you try to get close to them, they will usually fly away.
Many hours have been spent on rooftops, gardens, backyards, a junkyard, and different harbours to get this material.

Create with the dynamic energy of wind. As one of the most challenging subjects to record, wind sounds also inspire a range of creative and practical uses on projects of all types. That’s why we’re proud to present Cinematic Winds: Volume 2 – the exclusive followup to our most popular specialty library, Cinematic Winds.
Like its predecessor, much of this wind sound effects library is curated from legendary film sound designers Ann Kroeber and Alan Splet – both well known for their work with David Lynch and more. Volume 2 expands on this with even more moody, colorful wind recordings from Academy Award®-winning sound artist Richard King (Dunkirk, Inception) plus recordist/sound designer Colin Lechner (Raconteur Sound).
These sounds are full of character – from light breezes and swirling heavy gusts, to carefully-crafted whistling wisps and ghostly roaring swells. Capture the emotive power of wind as it rustles through leaves and howls through windows – ideal for inducing subconscious emotion, imposing a powerful presence, or creating both earthy and surreal soundscapes.
Descriptive embedded metadata helps you find exactly the sound you need with practical, literal interpretations as well as emotional impressions of the sound effects. The wind sounds are grouped into five categories:
Ann Kroeber, Alan Splet, Richard King, Colin Lechner
Mind States is an experimental sound library that includes different types of tones known for altering the state of mind of the listener
The thoughts and emotions of an individual are communicated by neurons within the brain. The interaction of neurons causes brainwaves and these vary according to the mental state of the individual. With an external stimulus like audio, we can synchronize brainwaves to the frequency of the audio and attain a desired mental state. This is achieved using Binaural Beats, Monaural Beats, or Isochronic Tones, where the difference between two tones is perceived as a pulsating ‘Beat’ which synchronizes with Brainwaves.
This library is created by our specialist team who have designed sound and music for some of the world’s most respected spa/relaxation companies. Our Audio Craftsmen have researched and experimented, creating different tones in different frequency ranges to trigger different psychological responses. The files were created using the purest tone generators available so that the brain will not be disturbed by additional harmonics of the waveforms.
These are categorized into Delta waves (0.1Hz to 4Hz), associated with deep sleep and relaxation; Theta waves (4Hz to 8Hz), linked to REM sleep, meditation, and relaxation; Alpha waves (8Hz to 13Hz), which are responsible for positivity, anxiety, fast learning, etc; Beta waves (13Hz to 30Hz), linked to increased concentration, alertness; Gamma waves (30hz and above), when we are in peak awareness, tension, etc.
Our library consists of Binaural Beats, Monoaural Beats, Isochronic Tones, and Solfeggio Frequencies which are said to alter brainwaves. Each of these includes tones covering the full spectrum of brainwave categories. All files are in 24Bit 96KHz, totaling 7.2GB.
This bundle is a perfect choice for Spa and meditation centers. Also, these tones can be used for experimental music, films, ASMR, and even for self listening. No doubt, you will be getting an exceptional audio experience in your projects with this library. Try combining our tones to build your own unique experiences!
Here are the included folders:
⦁ Binaural Beats: Two pure tones of slightly different frequencies are played together (one tone per ear).
⦁ Monaural Beats: Similar to Binaural Beats, except the two tones are played in mono, and the resulting difference in the tones are perceived as a separate tone in our brain. Monaural Beats are considered to be more effective than Binaural Beats and can be played through one speaker.
⦁ Isochronic Tones: These are single tones turning on and off at regular intervals, which results in a rhythmic pulse. These are widely used for Brainwave Entertainment.
⦁ Solfeggio Frequencies: These frequencies were used in the ancient 6-tone scale and believed to be used in several ancient sacred music styles. These tones are said to have capabilities in promoting various aspects of physical and mental health.
⦁ Pads: An additional folder that includes a variety of soft and focussed pads, perfect for layering with the included tonal elements.

How many times have you needed to create a small mechanical movement, a gadget click and lock, high-tech tiny gears, or metallic Foley weapon handling?
Sound design is about thinking outside the box – or sometimes deep into the box. Micro Mechanisms is a masterful collection that delivers the world of micro mechanical movement into your toolkit. Think about watch rotation, combination padlock, cryptex, clock ticking, tiny latches, ratchet or even a vintage toy sewing machine.
Recorded at 24 bits 96 kHz on a Sound Devices Mixpre-3 with a pair of MKH 8040, these sounds can easily be pitched down without any quality loss.
Guitar Designed originated from source recordings of an expert guitarist playing a variety of articulations across the instrument. Our Audio Craftsmen used a variety of tools to then mangle, distort and transform these into ground-breaking, futuristic sonic elements.

The Cinema sound effects library brings you the sounds of a quintessential cinema experience – from popcorn, snacks, beverages, fellow (even obnoxious) audience members and old-school creaky cinema seat!
Our Audio Craftsmen manipulated a variety of props and snacks to yield a huge number of useful sounds. The actions in these recordings cover moving popcorn around in a cardboard bucket, dropping nachos on a cinema carpet, pouring cola over ice into a cup, slurping it through a straw, rustling various plastic and foil snack wrappers, shushes, spectator reactions and comments, perspective coughs and whispers and much more!
Accent your film, TV or game scenes and build an authentic cinema, picture house or theatre environment with this Foley-based library!
Sounds have been separated into the following categories:
Cinema Seat: Close-mic’d and perspective recordings of the fabric and squeaks of a well-worn chair while someone sits down in it.
Cinema Steward Sweeping: In the after-movie quiet, hear the sound of an employee sweeping up popcorn and nachos with a broom on carpeted and hard surfaces.
Cola: Pouring soda into a plastic and paper cup, drinking, slurping, sipping, clinking and rattling ice, carbonated fizz, moving the straw, screwing a plastic cap – the fizzy drink essentials!
Popcorn: Eating, munching, shaking, crunching, sifting, dropping, digging, moving popcorn in a cinema-style cardboard bucket.
Nachos: As above but with nachos! Manipulated within a carboard tray, as one would find at the cinema.
Spectator Reactions: A multitude of lines and reactions one usually hears from fellow audiences, including gaps, coughs, and questions. Additional perspective whispers, murmurs and eating will form a fantastic foundation for building up any cinema or theatre scene.
Wrappers: The dreaded but essential crinkling of various paper and foil snack wrappers.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
