  • Ready, aim…FIRE!

Pull the trigger on this one-of-a-kind antique gun library! Using a multi-mic configuration (comprising the Sennheiser MKH50, Røde NTG-3 and Line Audio CM4 Stereo Pair) our Audio Craftsmen recorded a professional armourer manipulating two authentic 19th century muskets. The result is a carefully edited collection of intimate sounds, including opening and closing the frizzen, dry firing, trigger fidgeting, dropping and dragging the gun on various surfaces, loading with ramrods, blowing into the barrel, hands sliding and twisting across the gun, slamming the stock, grabbing the barrel and more!

Our multi-mic set-up means for most of the actions you can enjoy different perspectives while designing technical scenes. Perfect for Film, TV, documentary and game projects that feature flintlock or caplock muskets, rifles or pistols. This library is a real Foley treat!

Sounds have been separated into the following categories:

General Handling: Hand twists, grabs and slides.

Scraping: The stock (butt) of the gun scraping across wood and cobbles.

Loading: Actions involving the ramrod and barrel.

Mechanisms: Manipulation of cock, caplock, frizzen and trigger.

Groundwork: Anytime the gun is in contact with concrete, earth, sand and wood surfaces. Includes the gun dropping, falling and being picked up, as well as the stock slamming onto the ground.

Each file contains multiple performances of the named action.

All sounds were recorded in 24Bit 192kHz, and have been tagged with extensive UCS metadata for ease of use.

  • The Foley Vault is home to an ever-growing collection of original Foley recordings.

Each library was captured by professional Foley Artists on our in-house Foley Stage using a Sennheiser MKH50 microphone.

The assets chain together particularly well so that you can use them to make long continuous runs.

The timbre and dynamics of these sounds lend them to be used for many different designs than just scrapes and scratches, such as movement in snow or sand, powerful bursts, high energy flames, shifting heavy objects, large beast vocalizations (dragons, anyone?), and more. As well, their metadata is organized conveniently to allow you to grab chunks of variations on similar movements and drop them into your favorite audio implementation software for quick assignment to random containers or sequences for an asset or call.

This library will almost always find itself being thrown into a creative media project one way or another. Its full of a particular cornerstone sound that is essential to any sounds designer’s toolbox.  And with such a variety and versatility to explore, we promise it will serve you well.

  • Have you heard about fractals, if so then you probably know that they can be used as art; to an almost-infinite detail creating mind boggling patterns. Luckily, it so happens that one of our core team sound-designers is also a well known fractal artist.

With the help of “photo-synthesis” and “spectral-manipulations”, we extracted the unique impulse responses straight out of some of the most mathematical pieces of art we have ever seen. These visually insane patterns resulted in some truly unique sonic experiences, which we have been unable to find anywhere else. More importantly, now you can add an extra layer of complexity and dimension to your sound with the easy-to-use impulse responses.

These are not the typical reverb tones that can be found or created, in most already-existing convolution reverb plugins.

Think about these Mathematical Impulse Responses, as unique effects and textures, a sound designer’s’ paradise. Make your math-rock mathematically richer than ever before, or give your EDM a new harmonically otherworldly twist, go where you want to go without the fear of being held back by the tools you use.

    Details:

    • 64 impulse response samples
    • 48khz / 24bit wav files
    • Compatible with any convolution-reverb software
    • WAV + ReFill version (for Propellerhead Reason 8.3+ with 64 Combinator & RV7000mk2 patches)
  • We here at Sonner Sound have collected a wide range of buttons, switches handling noises, cranks and dials, both old and new. There’s over 500 sounds collected in 68 files, so something here for everyone! Regular household buttons such as light switches and computer mice and some more experimental in steampunk style. They’re recorded at 96 kHz and 48 kHz at 24 Bit (both Stereo and Mono) with rich meta data. Recorded with Sennheiser MKH50 and DPA 4017.
