We visited Chicago last summer and once again, we recorded it, capturing 17 beautiful tracks in ambisonic format, 48Khz and 24 bits HD. As always, top quality recordings specially designed for film audio projects. The library was decoded and mixed in Dolby ATMOS at AdHoc Studios.
Enormous in size and intricate in detail, this library provides you with all of the tea, coffee, and various drink sound effects you very well may ever need. Good pick. The sounds herein are rich and filling, striking chords of warmth and refreshment while stirring tantalizing thoughts of supple beverage creation. From hand utensils, and preparation vessels to automated units, unique devices, and heavy machinery, you get it all.
Many of the subjects in this library are captured from a variety of perspectives and with a multitude of takes so you can just as easily drop them into containers and events within a dynamic game environment, or choose from a wide variety of performances to perfectly fit in a one-off film scene. The vast majority of the library (99%) is recorded in 96kHz resolution, with a small chunk (1%) captured in 48kHz. This was done to save you some disk space regarding some of the longer and larger recordings. This bundle was built with 4 different car libraries:
In this 102 minutes long sound library (without RAW files) you will find 16 designed and 32 raw engine sounds recorded onboard, 26 pass by and engine exterior sounds, 17 foley files and 9 engine interior recorded inside vehicles cabin in sync with microphones under the hood.
In this 88 minutes long sound library you will find engine recorded onboard and outside, passby sounds, foley and engine recorded inside vehicles cabin in sync with microphones under the hood.
The Renault Kangoo 1.6 16V sound library features 227 96kHz/24 bit WAV files (including RAW files, for design purpose) recorded with 2 Sound Devices 702, 2 Sennheiser MKH 8040 microphones, Rode NTG3, 2 DPA 4061 and Sony PCM-M10 recorder. This library covers sounds of regular driving, slow and fast accelerating recorded under the hood and inside a drivers cabin at the same time, so the files are in sync and ready to edit in your DAW. In addition this library features exterior recordings, from slow passes through medium and fast ones, reverse sounds, doppler effects, braking and idle, driving away and more.
Everything was recorded from 3 perspectives with different equipment. Mono recordings followed the car all the time, and were recorded with NTG3. Stereo ones were recorded with Sony PCM-M10 and Sennheisers MKH 8040 in ORTF. Those microphones were standing still, capturing the car passes from left to right.
Last but not least, foley. This library covers different actions, like opening and closing doors recorded from the interior and exterior perspectives, opening and closing slide doors, hood, back doors and windows. Pulling and releasing the hand brake, AC fans, buttons and switches, emergency and turning lights, opening and closing glove compartment and more.
The total length of the files is 142 minutes (without RAW files). In addition to the cleaned and premixed files, you will receive Engine RAW recordings as a separate download link. Thanks to those files you can design the engine or interior sounds the way you like.
Get the sound of honey bees – inside and outside their hive – with this 96kHz and 24bit Beehive sound library.
All files were recorded outside the town, far away from the roads to capture the clean sound of the hardworking bees.
I had a chance to record those insects before the feeding time, so they were hungry and really active.
My main goal was to capture different sounds, not only the ambiences but also some close ones, like the sound of the bees landing on their landing zone or just the interior sound of the hive.
14 stereo files were recorded with Sound Devices 702, Sony PCM-M10 recorder, two DPA 4061 microphones hidden inside a hive and two Sennheiser MKH 8040 to capture the ambience in front of the hive.
Every stereo AB interior recording can be split to mono to isolate the single buzzes, and the library features a total of 44 minutes of bee sound recordings.

Beef up your sound design with the ferocity of Gators – from beastly bellows and monstrous growls to aggressive hisses and vicious jaw snaps. This one-of-a-kind, exclusive speciality library delivers stunning alligator sound effects ready to add power and intensity your audio projects.
And “one-of-a-kind” is no exaggeration. There’s a reason you will not find a similar collection dedicated to alligator or crocodile sound effects anywhere else. These sounds can not only be dangerous to record, but they are extremely difficult to capture as alligators are typically very stealthy, quiet creatures… except during mating season.
Luckily, recordist Colin Hart embarked on several excursions to the swamps of Florida to develop a method for cueing the monstrous sounds from these cold-blooded beasts – so you don’t have to. After seven years (plus a mangled blimp, destroyed boom pole, JBL baby stroller, and a couple testing subwoofers from Boeing), these incredible alligator recordings are now available for your own projects.
In addition to bellowing mating calls, warning hisses, terrifying snarls and more alligator sounds, the Gators library also provides partially submerged hydrophone recordings as well as marsh and bird ambiences.
Add this rare secret weapon to your sound design toolset and give life to creatures, monsters, dragons, dinosaurs, crocodiles, and other beasts. The organic immensity of these sounds also make perfect layers for explosions, thunder, fire, engines and more.
“DELAY” is a simple mini collection of 31 WAV files (96kHz/24bit) aimed to enhance atmospheres and create movement.
Sources were processed with extreme applications of delay effects to create a palette of interesting textures.
“DELAY” is a great addition to your current collection of production elements.
“Thin Ice” is a handy collection of gripping ice sound effects.
It offers raw sound materials encompassing 315 sounds of cracklings, frictions, impacts, and squashes.
Motion Texures is a broad library with a narrow purpose: to draw sonic lines and create gently moving sonic textures.
The concept is that consistent sound of friction will translate well to visual design elements that have CG and text movement on screen.
We recorded the friction sounds of dozens of small to medium sized props in constant motion. Major categories include metal, plastic, cloth, wood and skin. Some of the most interesting sounds came from the props that had small cavities such as the spray can lid and the water bottle. The constant changing of the cavity state relative to the mics creates strange vocal sounds.
Once the sounds were recorded we employed a proprietary smoothing process as a second pass to the sounds and provided them in addition to the original textures. These smoothed out sounds still have the organic quality of the original recordings, but with far fewer transient events. The end result are sounds that feel straighter than the more circular sounding original textures.
Inside of the Kontakt instruments we stacked layers and effects to create a broad base of deep and interesting textures. Many of the Kontakt presets mangle the sounds far beyond recognition of the original recordings.
UnEarthy Ambience features 74 designed ambiences ranging from eerie organic textures, thick industrial machine rooms, and futuristic sci-fi atmospheres.
Add a polished layer of subtle tension, evolving textures, otherworldly roomtones, complex soundscapes or natural environments twisted into new spaces. UnEarthy Ambience gets you 2.8 GB of dark, futuristic, organic, designed drones and soundscapes from original field recordings and modular synth sampling in total.

Need high-impact car crash sounds – captured from both the inside and outside of a car? While there are no sounds of actual monsters attacking a car, there's certainly a lot of of recordings of sound-guys jumping on car roofs, beating car doors, smashing windshields and destroying paint jobs, with a big axe, and a crowbar.
Low sense DPA 4061 microphones were placed inside a car, and different actions were performed on it, like hitting, dragging, jumping, stepping and other improvising actions.
Microphones were also placed inside and outside the car, and windshields were smashed, with crowbars. These recordings covered the massive impacts as well as the small detailed glass pieces falling inside the car.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
