Want the sound of summer by the sea? This library was recorded during the summer of 2016 in Sardinia and French Normandy.
“Summertime” delivers more than 1 hour and 50 minutes of sounds in 49 files: A lot of sounds of sea, including shore from various distances, ports, some seagulls, waves. It also features kids playing on beach and people chattering and even some crickets.
All recordings are at 24Bit/96KHz with Soundminer metadata included.
Inspired by the ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) community, this collection includes 43 mono/stereo pairs of whispers, scratches, taps, rubs, breathing, buzzing, and more. The general goal of ASMR is to induce a bodily response from the auditory stimuli, much like a shiver, chill, or euphoric wave. From an auditory perspective, this is usually approached by using delicate, intimate sounds in a repetitive manner; known as 'triggers'.
The files are all loopable, averaging ~2'20″ in length, so you can leave them on repeat for a continuous ASMR experience. This also allows a sound designer to drop them into any environment where they need an indiscernible loop. The mono+stereo pairing allows for creating the appropriate stereo spread (or eliminating it all together) that a particular event requires. For some of the more common triggers, we provided a few variations.
Definitely intending to be a unique addition to your sonic anthology, this library will provide you with hours of evocative ear candy.

The BURP sound effects library brings to you a varied and expressive set of burps and belches. All from the gut of Jack Menhorn; the goal was to produce a burp library that would be great for regular belches in addition to monster and creature vocalizations.

Thermal Flux is a sound effects library formed by extreme temperature reactions. With materials ranging from -119°F to 1900°F all captured at 192kHz/24bit, it’s a fiery (and icy) collection of unique sound design source material.
In each recording, props with vast temperature differentials interact with each other… Red hot ball bearings vaporize liquids, melt ice, and destroy various household products. Extremely cold metal instantly freezes water. Molten metals and glass pour into water, groaning, chirping, and crackling, as they solidify. Dry ice causes coins to viciously chatter. Water beads bounce, whine, and buzz on blazing hot pans. White hot sand roars and erupts upon contact with water. All of this and more was recorded with mics capturing quality frequency information up to ~65kHz. This ultrasonic content allows for extreme pitch shifting without compromising fidelity.

The sounds recorded at the art workshop, focus more on the rooms and reverberation found here. The sounds also include, artists working in their own shops, cleaning, writing and painting. All sounds in this collection are stereo.

The harvester Claas Lexion 530 Library contains all the sounds a decent harvester produces on the field in one day. We were allowed to accompany this gigantic 300+ horsepower machine on the field and document all its activities. It roars and sounds harsh and dangerous.
Whether you are looking for realistic farm sounds or want to design a futuristic vehicle. The harvester files are ready to use or very easy to manipulate as they deliver sounds across all frequencies captured with high end equipment. Both helium-3 harvesting spaceships and apocalypse scrap transporters can be produced in just a few steps.
In addition to the standard exterior recordings such as bypass, away and up, the library also includes on-board recordings from the cab, from the platform, as well as various mic positions such as directly above and beside the cutting knives, on the belt, at the unloading pipe and many more. This is a unique bicycle library that captures this characteristic bike in clean, quiet, nicely performed true exterior rides. Including multiple perspectives, speeds and actions. From fast passbys on asphalt to slow onboard recordings and smooth stops.
The UglyBike is a typical old bicycle that’s working fine, but needs some TLC. It is a bicycle that’s just average, a little rattle a gentle scrape, a bike that everyone has had but got traded in for a newer one. A story of unrequited love.. :)
Speeds and actions:
Three speeds. Departures from slow, medium to fast getaways. Arrivals from slow stops with gently squeaking handbrakes to heavy stuttering skids.
Onboard recordings are 2-3 minutes long depending on speed. Higher speeds > shorter duration.
All 3 onboard mics are edited in sync with one another to make layering easy.
All Passbys, Arrivals and Departures move from Left to Right.
However, we are aware that some people have different needs for different purposes, so we’ve created a Metadata Reference Guide that explains the structure. And because we’ve automated the metadata proces, you can be confident that a ‘find & replace’ command will always replace all instances.
If you have any questions about this, contact us!
Additionally, we added Markers to some wave files, so specific sound events are easy to spot in Soundminer or other database apps.
The UglyBike library is part of the complete ‘City Bicycles’ library package available at www.frickandtraa.com. With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
