Articulated presents the result of several months investigation in the realm of rustling matters:
A toolkit to create presence, reality but also interesting textures and silences.
Light breeze and heavy wind gusts were recorded on many locations: in forests, near shrubs, tall grass, corn fields, and in streets. Leaves were captured fluttering on branches but also whirling and dancing on the ground.
Great amount of variations: Leaves of all shapes (needles, compound, single, broadleaf, dry, twigs, branches,…), and various materials such as plastic, paper, fabric, dirt were recorded.
All of which through various interactions such as shuffle, shake, rub, brush, hit, fiddle, whip, and whoosh.
• Windy foliage in trees
• leaves dancing on the ground
• plants interactions & movements
• shuffling, shaking, brushing, rubbing, hitting, swooshing
• all kinds of leaves shape and many types of vegetation such as grass, broadleaf branch, reeds, maple twigs, bamboos, needles, dry leaves, twigs, straws
• additional texture that can help extend the sonic palette of rustling noises such as plastics, papers, metals, glass, pebbles, dirt, fabric, leather
A street fighter style sound pack featuring foley sounds for punching, kicking, slapping, body slamming as well as male vocal excursions for giving punches, taking punches, getting choked, powering up, victory and dying.
With a distinct lo-fi aesthetic and edge, this unique collection of electromagnetic field recordings is perfect for environments which require disrupted communications, electrical failures, signal breakdowns, computer malfunctions or any kind of abstract glitch element.
Sourced from various everyday household electronic devices such as modems, games consoles, digital TV receivers, extractor fans, laptops, tablets and mobiles phones, there are a total of 172 raw files in this collection separated into 3 categories, Loops, Oneshots and Sequences, giving you numerous options for utilisation.
Low quality preamp experiments, faulty connections and general unexpected audio errors were exploited during the recording and editing process, adding distinctive flavours to a number of the sounds. As well as coil pickup microphones, the pickups from electric guitars and basses were used to capture the electromagnetic sound of several devices for a genuine low fidelity feel.
Whether soundtracking a system rebellion in your latest Sci-Fi epic, the technological landscape of a Dystopian society or you need to create a disturbing, noise-laden atmosphere for a paranormal Horror, this collection is well-suited to a huge number of projects and media, be it games, film, TV, art installations, podcasts, audio books or music production.
Also included are 157 processed Transition FX which were created from the raw source material. These abstract effects also serve as a Transition or User Interface toolkit, ready to be used as they are, layered to your liking or processed to the extreme for something completely new.
Loops: 18 (Mono)
Oneshots: 65 (Mono)
Sequences: 89 (Mono)
Processed: 157 (Stereo)

We had the chance to make the crossing of the North Atlantic Ocean on a cargo ship container (ATLANTIC STAR).
We boarded in the Antwerp industrial port in Belgium, sailed the English Channel, and then stopped at Liverpool’s industrial port.
Then we crossed the North Atlantic Ocean to reach Halifax, Canada. This trip took us 10 days, 10 days of sounds recording.
Through this trip, we were able to access places that normally are closed to the public: industrial ports, and a container ship.
-The completed sound bank (Stereo + Surround-Ambisonic) contains 154 files record in 24 bit / 96 kHz

This is a unique bicycle library that captures this characteristic bike in clean, quiet, nicely performed true exterior rides. Including multiple perspectives, speeds and actions. From fast passbys on asphalt to slow onboard recordings and smooth stops.
The RacerBike is that kind of bicyle the snobby double shot cortado drinker nochalantly parks in the window at his favorite barista. This vintage Koga Miyata is maintained very well, with fresh lubricants and perfectly lined up gears it’s a smooth racing devil that you pay nicely for second hand (we can tell, we are the coffee snobs).
Speeds and actions:
Three speeds. Departures from slow, medium to fast getaways. Arrivals from slow stops with gently squeaking handbrakes to heavy stuttering skids.
Onboard recordings are 2-3 minutes long depending on speed. Higher speeds > shorter duration.
All 3 onboard mics are edited in sync with one another to make layering easy.
All Passbys, Arrivals and Departures move from Left to Right.
However, we are aware that some people have different needs for different purposes, so we’ve created a Metadata Reference Guide that explains the structure. And because we’ve automated the metadata proces, you can be confident that a ‘find & replace’ command will always replace all instances.
If you have any questions about this, contact us!
Additionally, we added Markers to some wave files, so specific sound events are easy to spot in Soundminer or other database apps.

We traveled across Canada, from the east coast to the west coast, and from the north to the Southern American' border to capture the spirit of this fantastic country and its wild landscapes:
infinite forest and boreal forest, huge lakes, mountain rivers, torrents, ocean, plains, alpine tundra, mountain ranges, caves, and also city environments.
Over the course of 3 months we captured quiet soundscapes from gigantic boreal forests only populated by birds and squirrels. We went to the end of the north road, to the edge of the Saint James Bay, where the ice winds of the Arctic met the tundra and the end of the boreal forest.
We discovered many lakes and rivers that characterize this wild country. We crossed the gigantic plains of Manitoba to join the Rocky Mountains and the British Colombia.
Facing this wilderness, we did not forget the cities and its humans: In Montreal and Ottawa we captured many atmospheres: markets, urban parks, streets and pedestrian areas.
-> We went record in these locations: Nova Scotia, Montreal, Ottawa, Tadoussac, Bois Robert, Bay James, Ruppert river, Harricana river, Temiscaming forest, Chapleau Faunetic Reserve, Ontario Forest, Manitoba's prairies, Northern Rocky Mountains, Salmon Glacier, Lynn canyon, Callaghan lake, Jasper.
-> All GPS coordinate are include in the sound sheet.

'Forest Ambience One' is the first library in my nature ambience series where I intend to record the vast and unique forests of Finland and their changing sound between the four seasons.
This library consists of 21 unique pine and birch forest ambiences recorded in Northern Finland during summer. Most of the ambiences have occasional birds in them but I was lucky to capture the sound of the forests without the birds too.
Due to the varying weather during the summer I also decided to record some of the locations when it was raining lightly and also when the rain had passed to get that after rain dribble.
The average length of each ambience is between 3-5 minutes so you can easily create your own ambience loops for e.g. video games.
Forest Ambience One is recorded with Sound Devices 702 and a stereo pair of Sennheiser 8040's in ORTF – and you get the sounds in two formats: 96 kHz, 24 bit and in 44.1 KHz, 16 bit, for more convenient ways of utilizing the sounds in games and other media.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
