Ok, ok, before you hit the preview button…back in school a friend made a short film with lots of fighting and light sabres. Who doesn’t want to try their hand at making those? This was my valiant attempt as a fledgling sound designer. They ain't the real thing but perhaps useful nonetheless. Enjoy!
Liquidation is a liquid texture library covering everything from water to slime to fizzes and bubbles. Source material in this library includes wet slimy pasta, giant water balloons, large containers being submerged underwater, leather fizzing in a chemical bath, pool water splashes and more. Plus it was all recorded at 192kHz/24bit so you can really stretch and thrash these sounds – and the vast majority of the sound files are in stereo. Whether you're designing an underwater adventure or an alien autopsy, this library is full of complimentary textures to layer together.
The LiquidMetal – Waterphone SFX pack contains a lot of great material for your next deep impact horror project, when you need eerie, suspenseful and deep sounds that bring the fear out in you and your audience.

Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the oldest city in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by hundreds of years. Lisbon (Portuguese: Lisboa) has experienced a renaissance in recent years, with a contemporary culture that is alive and thriving and making its mark in today's Europe.

Little Boxes is a curated collection of four unique sound sets designed to compliment one another sonically and texturally. These textures move from acoustic to electroacoustic to analog synthesis – all programmed into beautiful Kontakt 4 instruments (full NI Kontakt

A small device meant to be hung flat on the wall, the balls will swing and strike the strings if the ground begins to move.
This box was shaken, plucked, strummed, performed and ebowed to produce a beautiful palette of acoustic string textures.
In Kontakt those sounds evolved into a group of instruments that ran from folksy, zither like patches to lush, shimmering pads.
69 human vocalizations processed to be smaller than human.
This library would be a great fit for an indie game in need of a character sound to enhance movements, actions and/or fighting.

These included cameras, carabiners, wrenches, rack cases, knives, can openers, tongs, crimpers, solder suckers, file cabinet doors, vehicle doors and servos and much more – all with multiple unique performances per set.
Great care was taken to record each performance with the highest sonic quality and detail. We chose a pair of MKH50s in XY as our primary setup, creating a big, clean stereo image on every sound.

We’ve spent many hours exploring London’s far corners, seeking out the darkest, dirtiest, dimly lit areas of the capital’s streets in search of evocative and truly authentic sounds.
On visiting a large range of locations across the city we embraced our surroundings to capture the city’s natural reverberation and unique sonic qualities.
London Edge is the result of our methodical and passionate search for moods, atmospheres and textures, inspired by our favourite London dramas.
All sounds have been recorded in high-quality 24bit, 96kHz using Sound Devices recorders and Sennheiser MKH8040, MKH416, MKH30 and DPA4060 microphones. Each file has been tagged with detailed Soundminer metadata to speed up workflow and increase organisation.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
