Rain & Thunders is a small collection of ambisonic recordings performed at various locations in the countryside.
39 unique recordings, Including 11 isolated thunder samples.
To create this sound package, a costume rain protection rig was built, and a Sennheizer Ambeo microphone paired with Zoom H8n was used.
This collection is great for post-production, VR/AR experiences, game developers, and any real-time 3D audio engine.
All files are tagged and categorized for your convenience – supporting tag-filtering browsing applications.
This package includes 39 Samples – A total of 25 minutes of content.
Supported formats: First Order AmbiX B-Format and Stereo (Total of 78 files).
Multichannel recordings of the ice (in sync): stereo, mono and underwater/under ice recordings. Audio tool for further sound design, production etc.
Multichannel, recordings of the ice; Surface/underwater recordings of the ice. Check the sound list for info/ object of recording.
Each multichannel recording (or position/place of recording) is in a separate folder. Each channel/recording is Metadata tagged with description of equipment/format/character. Each multichannel recording (each folder) consist of:
– 4 Ch STEREO Mix, all channels mixed together (surface and underwater), ready for use stereo file
– Ch 01-MID, mono file, front/MID microphone-cardioid, RAW
– Ch 02-SIDE, mono file, SIDE microphone-figure of eight, RAW
– Ch 03-HYDRO LEFT, mono file, Left side hydrophone, RAW
– Ch 04-HYDRO Right, mono file, Right side hydrophone, RAW
– STEREO HYDRO Mix, stereo file, two hydrophones mixed together, ready to use underwater/ice stereo file
– STEREO (surface) file
You can use mono channels to create your own mix (or use it as mono) or use a stereo-ready to use file (or combination of both).
Using mono recordings/files for multichannel mixing can be very creative for SFX, or maybe in film, for example, to accompany first surface (frame) and then underwater (frame) separated, or half submerged camera (frame).
For mixing stereo (surface) files (microphones) you will need an MS matrix (plugin). This is a very creative tool which allows you to control the amount of stereo field or front to side ratio of the sound captured. If you are not familiar with MS there is a ready to use stereo (surface) file and you can use/mix it with underwater/ice file(s).
(for MS: Sennheiser MKH40 – front microphone/cardioid and Sennheiser MKH40-side microphone/ figure of eight.) Hydrophones are Aquarian audio H2a XLR.
Continuing the popular Videogame Foley Essentials series, Vol. II offers up an additional 1454 individual sound effects all mixed at the same volume level, carefully cleaned-up of any unnecessary background noise and artifacts ready to be dropped onto any audio middleware solution such as Wwise or FMOD. These sounds were created with videogame development in mind, meaning all sounds are short and snappy one-shots with dozens of iterations each, capable of being layered, stretched and bent with surprising results. The goal is to help the editor/sound designer on their workflow by simply dropping these ready-to-go sound batches on their middleware projects, avoiding auditory repetition and fatigue for the gamer whilst keeping them totally immersed on their upcoming adventures.

ARP’s SOLUS synthesizer is a portable powerhouse synth that can produce some seriously beefy sounds that feel right at home in today’s music. Released in 1980, SOLUS was developed as a portable performance synthesizer, hence being constructed as a flight case, featuring a hardwired power cord poking out of the front panel and panel-mounted I/O. Featuring two oscillators with sync functionality, ring modulation, and a classic ARP filter, this synth boasts plenty of sonic potential.
SØLUS features super beefy basses, searing leads, sturdy synths, and so much more. All ready to be used in your favorite DAW. As always, this synth was meticulously multi-sampled to preserve its original tonality while keeping noise to the absolute minimum.
While ARP SOLUS is a synth often standing in the shadows of its legendary siblings ODYSSEY and 2600, it truly is an instrument worthy of Alan R. Pearlman‘s legacy. When it comes to cutting through a mix, it’s one tough synth to beat.
As always, this synth was sampled using pristine converters, DI, and Rheingold cables to bring the instrument’s full sonic potential to your productions. Since ARP SOLUS only accepts a limited range of CV input (somehow you can’t feasibly play below C2 via regular CV), every single one of the included samples had to be hand-played and edited on top of being meticulously looped by hand for seamless infinite sustain.
Cinematic Waves Beaches Protected Inlets & Lakeshore
From across his homeland in the Pacific Northwest and beyond Nick brings you Shore Waves. A curated collection of pristine water lapping, crashing, and thundering along diverse shorelines of lakes, coves, and oceans. This library is pure water and free of creature, human, or external sound (except in specific recordings noted in the title or description). Recorded over the years while walking beaches and lakes, these waves are carefully selected to be the most musical and dynamic. Nearly entirely loopable, Shore Waves comes with extensive metadata and is UCS-compliant.
The focus of this collection is to include a variety of water wave sounds. A quiet lap on a sandy beach, tumbling rocks in the ocean shore break, rhythmic glugging along a rocky shore, building into the full cacophony of thundering ocean surf makes for a diverse library. These sounds are captured from various perspectives, such as close-up recordings of small lapping water and wider recordings that express the ambiance of a choppy lake or distant beach.
Creaking Door is a simple library of expressive door creaks and heavy impactful door slams. We captured various squeals, creaks, wails and other crazy vocalizations from the door. The library is a great tool for adding character and weight to doors.
This production music library offers an irresistible fusion of Jamaican-Caribbean vibes and modern reggae, accentuated by sultry Latin undertones.

The Bells From Hell Bundle comprises our series of unsettling, otherworldly sounds designed from the foreboding tones of bells.
An array of chimes, bongs, rings, tinkling and tolls were captured by our Audio Craftsmen both in the field and in our acoustically treated recording studio. Through a series of creative, experimental processing, these were then transformed into a collection of strange, discordant tones.
This bundle features over 6 GB of dynamic and dark sounds – from abiences to hits, to echoes and resonances – making it perfect for horror and sci-fi projects that require a distinctly unnerving edge.
Sounds have been separated into categorised folders, allowing you to intentionally build up your own sonic palettes.
All three libraries are delivered in 24B 192 kHz. The entire bundle is tagged with extensive Metadata for ease of use.
Recordings of the ice recorded in: stereo, underwater (two hydrophones) and with contact mics placed directly on ice, ice sheets.

There are two folders, with stereo recordings and with underwater and contact mics recordings.
Metadata tagged with description of equipment used on each recording. Recorded with great care with pro grade equipment. Noise (pollution) free. Various perspectives and sounds, check the sound list for add. info.
Irrigation is a collection of water flow ambiances captured in and around the Treasure Valley of southwestern Idaho, where the Payette, Boise, Weiser, Malheur, Owyhee and Burnt rivers drain into the Snake River. Follow the flow of crystal clear water as it travels from mountain-fed streams and rivers down into large reservoirs. Listen as water courses through the pipes and along the canals that carry it to sprinklers large and small. Finally, irrigated water fans out onto verdant golf courses, people’s front yards and farmland.
Be inches away from the sweeping spray of center-pivot irrigators. These create acres and acres of green circles in an otherwise barren landscape, making agriculture here possible. As a sonic side benefit, they produce cadenced sounds that will lull you to sleep.
Water allocation, i.e., who gets how much when there’s not enough to go around, is a huge, polarizing issue confronting residents, industries, politicians and wildlife in the western United States. Farmland is turning into subdivisions at an alarming rate.
Use these recordings, captured in pristine 24-bit/96 kHz quality by field recordist Richard Alan Hannon, to illustrate subject matter that will be in the headlines for years to come. Seamless loops have been meticulously crafted from sounds that allow for it. Giving you more opportunities to utilize these sounds in your projects.

A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
