Sound Effects

  • This library is a great collection of sounds of DOORS, furniture, windows, gates, sinks, drawers and curtains of the domestic type.
The library focuses on various types of homes/environments: poor/rustic house, elegant or contemporary, rural.
    Or based on the period: 80s / 90s – 60s and 40s.

    – Different perspectives: many files are double, a “Close Perspective – XY” file
and a second file recorded distant and off-axis named “Distant Perspective – ORTF”

    – Different actions, slowly, quickly, slamming doors, creaking, knocking, rattling, moving the door on the carpet.

Everything, or almost everything, has an action of opening and closing inside a house,
has been added to provide a very valid “Doors and furnitures” multitool:

Drawers, windows, curtains, cabinets, shutters, light switches, faucets, water flush, plastic panel, electrical panel, Cupboard and wardrobe, ovens, microwave… and household props.

recorded from various perspectives and always with different intensities – from delicate to hard.

Some doors are designed as a layer to be edited together with others. This allows you to have endless combinations available that can make you able to create the right “opening and closing doors” for your project.

    Gear used:
    – Schoeps cmc mk41 XY – Close Perspective
    – Oktava mk01 – ORTF Distant Perspective

  • How many sounds can you create with a polystyrene bodyboard? Well, here’s 1,000 to get you started!

This collection of sounds brings you 1,000 unique sounds at 96KHz/24-bit stereo created entirely from a bodyboard. From several creature sounds to computerized sounds, this library is extensive with 642 designed sounds with 11 different styles of vocalization, as well as all of the 358 base sounds that were the ingredients for the vocalizations. If you are looking to spice up your creature vocalization palette, then this library is certainly for you.

  • On the eternal search for new sounds, here is a hefty collection of creature voices created solely through the use of a metal flexatone.

This collection brings you 2,000 original sounds at 96kHz/24-bit stereo offering 4 distinct styles of vocalization prepared to breathe life into your creatures, whether they be alien or machine. Each style has over 450 variations covering over 15 different emotions such as “arguing”, “sad”, “scared”, “excited”, “laugh”, “question” and general “talking”. These 4 vocal styles are:

    1. “Voice A”: The untouched raw voice created by the flexatone, perfect for metallic creatures! (0:55-1:12 in the audio example!)
    2. “Voice B”: A slightly deeper voice with additional upper harmonics for a sci-fi aesthetic, ideal for futuristic machines! (0:02-0:13 in the audio example!)
    3. “Voice C”: A more mature voice with some throaty quivering, suitable for many alien creatures! (0:16-0:32 in the audio example!)
    4. “Voice D”: A brighter, lively, child-like voice perfect for younger, smaller creatures! (0:35-0:52 in the audio example!)

In addition to these 4 extensive voices, there are also over 150 traditional flexatone sounds such as the iconic comedic “boing” found in classic cartoons, as well as shakes, flicks, rises, falls and quivers!

Note: The sounds in the audio example have some panning added; the sounds in the library itself are entirely centred.

  • Have you ever wanted waterfall recordings with character, and texture, as opposed to hours of white noise?

Discover the roaring sound of a hidden waterfall, crashing on jagged rocks, pure ice-cold mountain water permeating the air.

The waterfall, hidden in the Carpathian mountains, is small enough that it still has texture and movement, whilst retaining that unmistakable roaring sound.

Recorded from different perspectives, distances and angles, over an hour and a half of recordings have been edited down to just over 11 minutes of audio at 24bit/96kHz, containing the essence of the waterfall.

The files are tagged with rich SoundMiner metadata, explaining in detail the perspective from which each sound was recorded.

  • COYOTES 1 – DESCRIPTION:
    • In High Desert Ambiences 4: Coyotes, I revisit the place where my field recording journey started: West Texas. On my drive out, a massive wildfire was burning large parts of the Davis Mountains. The day I arrived firefighters were finally able to contain the blaze, but sadly not before 22,000 acres burned. Much of the wildlife is too slow to escape, but luckily one pack of coyotes was fast enough to climb over a ridge. Normally I hear coyotes out in the plains where they love hunting jackrabbits. That night, however, I was recording from the edge of the dead fire. I was stunned to hear howling deep in the valley! The pack had run into the mountains to escape the blaze.
    • In this library, hear the angst-ridden vocals of coyotes running to escape a wildfire. Hear the howls and yips of an extremely close pack bouncing from high valley walls. Hear an echo chamber filled with the haunting howls of coyotes who has just had their home burned.

  • In the second installment of the High Desert Winds Series, get the blustery sounds of High Desert Winds 2 recorded in the resonant mountains of West Texas. This library was recorded during a massive two-day wind storm with gusts up 75 mph! These extreme winds rattled and shook the house in wonderful ways. The creaking and groaning windows, doors, and walls were vibrating so much that I could record wind for the first time using a contact microphone! There are also recordings of leaf vortexes, sand blasts, tarps popping, umbrella destruction, and much more. If you need the sounds of a stunning desert storm to complement the recordings in High Desert Winds 1, this is the library to check out.
