The core of this collection are natural sounds captured in the wilds of Oregon, USA – Western North America. The wildlife in the forests, streams, lakes, coast, and deserts of Oregon are a good substitute for most US and Canadian states west of the Rocky Mountains, including Washington, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, British Colombia, Alberta, Alaska, and Wyoming.
These recordings are from a pristine environment that avoid any human caused sounds.

Distant City Ambiences introduces the sounds of the ever-present noisefloor that is generated by the life in a modern city.
Several spots around the hills along Dresden/Germany have been visited in order to record these noisefloors from a distance.
All recordings are made with a 3-channel setup of Sennheiser MKH8020 / 8040 microphones that are able to capture the finest nuances which are often hidden by an aggressive compound of ever roaring engines, passing airplanes, trains and other acoustic emissions.
The library features 16 different locations that were visited several times between October and December 2015. Each place was recorded at different day and night times so that an entire 24h cycle of city ambiences is covered.
Distant Traffic by Badlands Sound puts traffic ambience in a different perspective: The library features over one hour of distant traffic ambience in 23 audio files.
The library includes distant bustling traffic, sparse roadways with everything in between.
Recorded in 96k / 24 bit with Sound Devices 702t – All files are three minutes each.
Distant Trains Sound Library delivers impressive multi-channel recordings of trains that pass by in a distance of at least 300 meters up to 1.5 kilometres.
Included are pass bys of freight, commuter and passenger trains plus single locomotives.
In order to capture the impressive walls of sound caused by passing trains an arrangement of 6 microphones was used. This setup encompasses stereo-pairs of MKH3040-MS, MKH8090-ORTF and MKH8040-WideAB. All pairs are recorded to separate files that are now available as time-aligned Reaper sets.
Each recording session took place at nights so that it was possible to capture extremely long approaches and tails that fade out to natural and calm night ambience without any disturbance by road traffic or other unwanted noises.

There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
