  • Mechanical Sound Effects Antique Cash Registers Play Track ~420 sounds included, 102 mins total $48

Antique Cash Registers - sound library

Clunky mechanical sounds from a collection of antique cash registers from the early 1900s + a bonus Kontakt MIDI instrument.

Grab our Old Cash Registers Bundle here and get this and an electric cash registers from the 1970s at a discounted price

Perfect source material for designing all sorts of odd mechanical machinery, steam punk inventions, UI sounds for points and money, or just actual cash registers in shopping scenes. ~420 sounds in 285 files.

For creating this library we had to track down old cash registers in Denmark. We recorded them all with several high quality microphones from multiple perspectives – even with a lavalier microphone hidden inside the machine for super dry mechanical sounds and contact microphone attached to the back for beefy low end that can be mixed in to make your sounds feel heavier. We even added punchy ready-to-use detailed mixes of all the microphones.

We experimented to explore all the sonic gems hiding in the machines. You’ll find sounds like the classic “money earned sound” from turning the clicking cranks and bell ring as the drawer opens, chunky mechanical sounds from pulling the levers and foley sounds from touching and handling the cash registers.

The library has been tagged with extensive metadata and has been tested in Soundminer, Basehead, Soundly and Pro Sound Effects’ Search to make it easy to find the sounds you are looking for.

The library comes with a Kontakt instrument (requires full version of Kontakt 6) with several round robins and multiple microphone positions that be used to add mechanical rhythms to your music, or easily sync the sounds to pictures with MIDI notes.

The Antique Cash Registers library includes:

    – Chunky rolling lever pulls in various durations
    – The classic Ka-ching! sound from from turning the crank
    – Performed continous mechanical sounds, perfect for machinery or creatures
    – Opening and closing the wooden drawers – with and without money
    – Foley and impacts from handling the registers
    – Clicky mechaincal sounds from turning the cranks and smaller knobs inside the registers
    – Several microphones from different perspectives as well as a punchy ready-to-use detailed mixes of all the microphones
    – A Kontakt Instruments with several round robins and multiple microphone positions that be used to add mechanical rhythms to your music, or easily sync the sounds to pictures with MIDI notes

We asked Katrine Amsler (Wolfenstein 2, Control) to play around with the library, and she came up with this beautiful haunting piece:

  • All files are recorded 32bit, 192 kHz and 24bit, 96 kHz with Rode NTG1, Rode Lavalier and Shure VP88 microphones, Sound Devices MixPre-6 II recorder. Library contains wav files of driving, interior and exterior foley, mechanical and electrical sounds.

  • Discover this massive collection of cutting edge quality, generic retro sounds and short music tunes. • This library features crowds from 4 to 800 people. The highlight surely is very rare to come by recordings from inside a cinema (crowd chatting, leaving, afterparty, cueing, and clapping for the movie at the premiere). But with this library, you get lots of interior and exterior recordings of applause (in churches, at concerts, performances & press conferences.
Also, there is quite a lot of walla. Mostly in German language, there is also lots of indistinct talking that can be placed in any background.

Most of these recordings were performed with a matched pair of Earthworks QTC50 on a stand in ab configuration, so they have a very nice stereo image and no movement during the takes.

Some recordings feature hard to recreate crowd sounds like laughing, or camera clicking (motors) at a press confrerence, clearing throats, children applauding or playing or multiple feet walking. There is also a recording of a theatre / opera rehearsal on stage (no singing).

I had planned a bigger crowds library, but due to Corona, my recordings in music stadiums & at sporting events got canceled. If If I record and release them at a later point, you will get them at a discount when you bought this library. I thought I release it anyway, as many editors can’t record crowd atmos and loop group atm.

  • In the tradition of the “Collected Ambiences Series”, the “Collected Animals” Sound Effects Library brings you a vast amount of broadly applicable recordings of various species. The fauna of this release comprises several european birds, an anxiously whining and purring cat, angry barking dogs, some parrots, oinking and ear flapping pigs, clucking and chattering ducks, chicken, geese, peacocks, flamingos, turkeys, barking seals, and a few gibbon monkeys.
All gathered over a longer period whenever any occasion occurred.

Each sound was painstakingly edited and cleaned – most with 0 background noise – for direct use in any kind of audiovisual project.
Clear naming and embedded BWF- and Soundminer Metadata grants clarity as well as fast and reliable search results.

  • Sirens wail! Authentic police, fire brigade, and ambulance siren systems, captured and catalogued for media production use. The recordings were made at distances ranging from 1.5 to 5 meters. Each siren has several subtypes of sound. For all of life’s emergencies, within are the sounds that signal. Neumann U 87 microphones were used for the recordings.

  • Travel & Transportation Vintage Air Travel Play Track 109 sounds included, 54 mins total $7.50

Vintage Air Travel – Planes, airports, stewardesses, pilots, announcements and more.

This pack contains some of the sounds associated with vintage air travel. Not a specific decade (some parts will be suitable for a contemporary setting), but think of the film ‘Catch Me If You Can’, 60s 70s 80s. An era when smoking was still allowed on planes, when PAN AM and TWA ruled the skies. I have created these ambiences, voices and sounds to suit that era.
There are two ‘tourist information’ tapes, based on the audio that would have accompanied a slide show for visitors to London and Los Angeles.
There are public address announcements that you might hear in an airport.
There’s stewardess VO as heard in the cabin of a jumbo jet and stewardess greetings as you board. A few pilot announcements, sounds of busy jumbo jets in-flight from a passenger perspective. A ride in a Cessna, with pilot chatter, planes passing overhead and more. For a full list of sounds, view the excel document, and play the preview file for a taster.
