    Equalizer & Filter 4020 Retro EQ Native v6 $69

    The 4020 Retro EQ is a four-band EQ and complimentary filter set. The HF and LF bands are shelving EQ, with two additional parametric EQs at the HMF and LMF bands. All EQ bands operate on a unique gain dependent variable slope/Q system for a vintage smooth sound and increased boost/cut frequency selectivity high gains. The HPF and LPF filters use a unique split-octave design giving a 12 dB/Oct slope near the selected frequency, and a maximum slope of 24 dB/Oct.
    All Retro plug-ins use a McDSP designed output stage topology to eliminate digital clipping at any output level and produce a smoother distortion characteristic. This feature is in addition to the analog saturation modeling that has made McDSP famous over the last decade.

    Wind Textures II continues with the series started on Wind Textures. New textures and locations have been included in this collection in order to make it as diverse as possible.

    • Urban areas: empty streets howling and whistling, trees rustling, plastic and cloth materials flapping.

    As well as hand-operated tools, Nuts and Bolts gives you several power tool sound effects being operated at different intensity levels. All of the sounds in this library have been recorded in context, meaning that they reflect how you would actually use the tools, not just how they sound in a controlled studio environment. We recorded close, distant and far recordings to capture natural reverb, giving you the maximum flexibility when searching for the right sound for your projects.     Nuts and Bolts contains a total of 145 files (with lots of variations per file) including a designed folder of 10 sounds.     Featuring 38 pristine nature recordings from remote locations across the U.S., Biophony delivers a diverse collection of ambient environmental sounds.     To capture these sounds, recordist Jason Strawley and videographer Andrew Garraway traveled to four states from Florida to California with the goal of capturing a variety of ecosystems including swamps, ponds, and forests. The result is a dense collection of vibrant wildlife recordings brimming with life. According to Strawley, one of the most difficult aspects of the process was finding locations unaffected by human intervention, be it noise pollution or the overarching effects of climate change. In his own words:

    “Human-made noise pollution foiled many a recording, forcing us to travel to more and more remote locations. We should all be advocating to preserve more wild lands, but it’s not just about the land – we need to preserve the soundscape and darkscape as well. Some national parks are doing a great job with this and I hope we can contribute to awareness in some tiny way.”

    I purchased a car in a junkyard and we went to town smashing it up. There are metal hits and glass hits as well. There are some great safety glass explosions as well as glass debris flying around inside the car. I smashed a bunch of the engine with a sledge hammer as well as dragging metal over engine parts. One of the best sounds is grinding and tearing the windshield. As safety glass is often covered with a thin film of plastic, it made the best sharp crackly flesh peeling sound ever. Perfect for adding destruction details.

The audio files are recorded at 24bit, 192k with mono and stereo recordings. The Sennheiser MKH-60 was used for the mono files with a slightly more distant mic placement than the stereo files, which were recorded with the Sennheiser MKH8050 and the Sennheiser MKH-30 near the shoe. From different walking speeds, to jogging, sprinting, jumping, hard stops, scuffs, and more! There are several performances with each file to fit the right action you need. That’s a whopping 618 footsteps between the mono and stereo files!
