This week we have sounds of activities that we love to do as humans. We have summer pastimes like going to football games, basketball games and swimming, sounds of travel with airport and airplane ambiences and the hot springs of a Portuguese island, sounds of war with tanks and jets, and sounds of human mythology with sadistic zombies. Whether the characters in your project are enjoying their time off or running for their lives, we’ve got some libraries for you.
The Undead

  • These are no ordinary zombies, they’re not your mindless, shuffling, flesh craving human husks. An evil runs through what remains of these creatures’ bodies. Flesh has all but decayed from their bones and whatever humanity they had in life has long since departed.

This library is dedicated to the chilling vocal sounds of the zombie. It is ideal for films and games, TV or trailers and includes 102 bespokely designed zombie vocal assets, including breaths, idle grunts and groans, attacks, pains, death, war cries and more.

Whilst this library caters primarily for the more aggressive variant of the undead, it wouldn’t sound out of place when used on other terrifying abominations.

All assets are delivered in 96kHz, 24-bit stereo files and include full Soundminer metadata.

Just in time for Halloween is 'The Undead' by ShotgunMike. This library features zombies, but not the kind you'll find in movies like 'Shaun of the Dead'. Instead of simple moans and groans, these zombie growl, hiss and roar, causing the decayed, tattered skin in their esophaguses to rattle. You will also find sounds of the walking dead breathing, biting, attacking, shrieking, and dying. The library is even organized for interactive use with metadata tags such as idle, taunt, war cry, pain and more. For sounds of zombies and other bloodthirsty creatures, check out 'The Undead'.

Cannonball!

  • Water & Ocean Sounds Cannonball! Play Track 365 sounds included $49

Get over 350 splashes and complimentary water movements/textures with the “Cannonball!” water splash/movement SFX library. There’s dives, lunges, emerges, swishes, and drips.

Then there’s some more unique elements like these really cool percussive splashes using axes and hammers, water whooshes and sweeps recorded in quad, all to give you more than just your typical splash. Except for one session in the foley studio, all of this material was recorded outside which means no tub reflections.

A toolbox of sounds that you will come back to over and over.

'Cannonball!' by Big Room Sound Inc has 365 sounds of splashes and water effects. In this library you will find dives, lunges, emerging, swishes, and drips recorded in a quiet outdoor pool with soft natural reverb. It also includes unique elements like percussive splashes created with axes and hammers and water whooshes and sweeps for more creative water sound design. Whether you're looking for sounds for your pool scene or water foley for your magic creatures, check out 'Cannonball!'.

Tanks and Jet

  • Tanks & Artillery Sounds Tanks and Jet Play Track 30+ sounds included, 34 mins total $25

Tanks and jet was recorded during a real military drill in Sweden featuring a variety of tanks, and a JAS 39 Gripen.

From the creaking and clanking of the tanks to the glorious and soaring JAS, and all the way to the brutal tank cannon and machine guns. This pack contains all ingredients for nasty machine warfare. All of the files were recorded during a military drill performed in front of a live audience.

All files are meta-data tagged with keywords and a description.

    Tanks and Jet includes:

    • Tank Driving (18 files, 18:22 in duration)
    • Tank Battle (7 files, 04:27 in duration)
    • Jas Gripen Flyover (7 files, 12:09 in duration)

'Tanks and Jet' brings you more sounds of war by Double Trouble Audio. This library features a variety of Swedish tanks as they drive, idle, rev and stop, capturing all the close-up details of their creaking metal, wobbling plates and exhaust. The collection even includes sounds of cannon fire and machine guns as well as a flyover from a JAS Gripen, which seems to split the sky in half. For sounds that will make you feel like you're holding onto the side of tank, you won't find a better or more detailed tank library for this modest price!

Essential Football Stadium Crowds

  • Welcome to the Essential Stadium Crowd sound effects library: All the crowds, back room ambience and practice tracks were recorded at the Phoenix Cardinals Stadium, pre/during and post game. I had the opportunity to have a press pass and free reign in the stadium.

Some of the recordings were recorded way up high in the upper bleachers, and some behind the end zones, as well as other interesting places. There are significant differences in the locations and the ‘thickness’ of the crowds. With this library, you should be able to fill out any sort of large sports arena ambience, as I’ve edited out most of the PA Announcer to give more of a general stadium feel that could be anywhere, and any major arena sporting event. The PA that is left in can easily be edited out.

All the sounds were mastered in Pro Tools, with very transparent processing going on. My signal chain consisted of a C4 Compressor, DMG Equality EQ, and a L1 Limiter. All reverb is natural.

'Essential Football Stadium Crowds' by Tsunami Sound Wave gives you all the sounds you forgot to record during your stadium scene. This library has cheering and clapping that are both close-by and from a distance, plus it has unintelligible sounds of the announcer, the pounding beats of a pep band, and even backroom sounds of an excited team. It has it all! Whether you need discernible sounds for your sports game or crowd ambience while your characters sit in the bleachers, 'Essential Football Stadium Crowds' will have you covered.

Brazilian Airports & Plane Journeys

The majority of sound files in the library are over ten minutes in length, giving you a huge pool to source your audio from.

With Brazilian Airports & Plane Journeys you will never be left wanting for airport or passenger ambiences again.

'Brazilian Airports & Plane Journeys' by Sonic Innovations has sounds of an international journey from the perspective of the traveler. This library has over two hours of sounds from a complete trip - from the check-in and baggage check to grabbing a quick bite before departing. Popular sound effects this week:

  • Cinematic & Trailer Sound Effects Abandoned Oil Tank Play Track 327 sounds included $40

On a recording trip to the smaller Danish port town Struer, I came across an abandoned empty oil tank. Inside I found two giant wires attached to the floor and the ceiling of the tank, almost like a huge 2 stringed double bass. I’m telling you the reverb in there was longer than the Eiffel Tower on a cloudless day !

On the outside this was just an empty abandoned building, but it turned out it was not empty at all because it was full of sound and a few dead birds. I’m glad I was curious enough to go inside for a closer investigation and not just pass by.

After several hours of concentrated recording, it was nice to get my ears back out in dry air. I’m happy there are no open sends to Valhalla in real life but experiencing the eternal resonance on the low frequencies from the wires was absolutely amazing.

Abandoned Oil Tank was recorded with a LOM basic Ucho stereo pair, a Zoom H6 and the LOM Geofon. All files are in 96 kHz/24 bit and contain the original recordings.

The result is a unique sound effect library including balloon pop impulse responses from a truly unique location that very recently became even more unique since word says that the oil tank is no more and has abandoned this world.

327 individual sounds – all tagged with Universal Category System (UCS) metadata.

Many sounds in this section were captured from vintage equipment, from a 1928’s tram to old telephone switchboards, high voltage levers and control surfaces.

  • Metal Sound Effects MetalMotion Play Track 2000+ sounds included, 239 mins total $110

MetalMotion is a sound design construction kit that contains four hours of moving metal mayhem: clicks and clanks, rolls and drags, wronks and squeals, scrapes and rattles, ranging from from tiny to monstrous. Nathan Moody’s unique performances with unusual combinations of props produce everything from Foley-like movements to intense groans and howls.

Whether you’re covering a robot’s movements, sweetening weapon Foley, making crafting or pick-up sounds in a game, placing unusual layers beneath a kaiju’s roar, or crushing a submarine with undersea pressure, this collection covers the full range of subtle to raucous. Each file has many performance variations for creative choice and game audio asset creation.

While there are some tasty impacts within, this library’s true focus is on characterful movements: handling, rummaging, opens, closes, ratchets, swirls, rolls, drags, drops, spins, rubs, zuzzes, and bows. Metal containers, filing cabinets, modern appliances, vintage (and very rusty) tools, cymbals, bells, grills, plates, bars, rods, and tubes, and many other props lent their voices to this collection.

This UCS-compliant library was recorded with a combination of standard, contact, and ultrasonic-capable microphones through Millennia preamps. Sample rates vary based on the amount of ultrasonic content in each file. The audio files are mastered for realism, ready for extreme processing and pitch shifting of your own, but still useful in more grounded contexts.

  • Ice Sound Effects Ultrasonic Dry Ice Play Track 635+ sounds included, 71 mins total $38.40

Ultrasonic Dry Ice is a library containing over 600 sounds themed metal resonances, scrapes and all sorts of weird.
All the content has been recorded at 192KHz with a Sanken CO100K, a couple of Sennheiser MKH8040 and a MKH416.
The resulting ultrasonic spectrum is rich and allows for truly extreme manipulation of the content.

    About Pottery Workshop

84 sounds that are clean, subtle and capture pretty much every object and action of the magic of fire and earth.

From the rhythmic hum of the spinning potter’s wheel, to the splash of water, the scrape of clay with the tools shaping and smoothing surfaces, listen up for the symphony of creation.

You will hear the tapping and thud of ceramic pottery, wooden ribs, wire cutters, loop tools, and sponges, all kinds of rummage, and mud actions on the potter’s wheel. The clicking and whirring of mechanisms during firing cycles add a mechanical counterpoint to the workshop’s natural rhythms.

You will get variations of sounds in different proximity, size, and style of action. This collection is handy due to the clarity and diversity of the raw sounds. They have both Foley and practical usability and room for further sound design.

You will get intuitive, detailed naming, UCS compatibility and the usual Vadi Sound craft and attention to detail in 84 pristine sounds. Recorded in 24bit-96kHz.WAV format on our favorite Sennheiser MKH 8040 stereo pair and Zoom F6.
