The Honda VTX 1300

  • Motorcycle Sound Effects The Honda VTX 1300 Play Track 49+ sounds included, 45 mins total $20

Get the sounds of the the Honda VTX 1300 – a distinctive cruiser motorcycle.

Its 1300cc displacement is right in the sweet spot between the zippier 750 models and the massive 1800 road warriors. This particular one was equipped with a set of custom Vance and Hines Big Shots exhaust pipes early in its life, giving it a distinctive and throaty note that can be heard up and down the highway. The VTX line is also known for its distinctive transmission, which gives a meaty ‘clunk’ with every shift.

This library is a set of recordings that were made using a combination of onboard and exterior mics at a variety of useful speeds, as well as free running on the highway. Its a smaller set, but very distinctive and useful.

We recorded multiple channels on every movement:
    • Onboards consisted of Line audio CM3, Crown PZM and Sanken COS11 mics
    • A handheld MKH416 rig covered bys and exteriors

After a half day of recording we had material ranging from idles and slow starts to fast bys and highway runs.

The Honda VTX is like the tenor sax of the motorcycles. It has the chunky timbre of a road king, but with more bravado and warmth. The team at echo | collective recorded this beast with onboard and exterior mics at different speeds to create a strong collection of passbys, idles, slow starts and highway travel.

Atmospheres of Rwanda

  • Environments & Ambiences Atmospheres of Rwanda Play Track 52+ sounds included, 140 mins total $40

Get the ambiences and atmospheres of Rwanda, Africa in this sound effects library recorded by Ana Monte. It features recordings from around the capital of Kigali, suburbs, markets, sewing shop, rooftop and roadside recordings, as well as countryside, forest and hillside recordings.

While filming a documentary in Rwanda, Ana Monte captured these 53 beautiful ambiences. Listen to the pleasant sing-songiness of the Kinyarwanda language trickling around the suburbs and markets of Kigali as well as the peaceful forest and hillside ambiences marked by birds and cicadas.

Atmospheres of Kurdistan

This ambient library was also recorded by Ana Monte while filming a documentary in Kurdistan. It contains 50 minutes of ambiences around the citadel to include busy bazaars, prayers from loudspeakers, temple atmospheres, sounds from the Lalish village, and large water birds that have migrated from the shoreline.

Urban Crows

  • Bird Sound Effects Urban Crows Play Track 31 sounds included, 90 mins total $25

Urban Crows is a library full of interesting sounds of single crows and swarms.

These proud birds deserve a lot more attention than they usually get. They are amazingly intelligent, social and by no means aggressive or monotonous when it comes to their communication capabilities.

The library evolved throughout winter 2015/16 and was taken from the attic of a house surrounded by trees were the crows frequently stayed overnight. So it was a great pleasure to record them arriving in the evenings as well as hearing them chatting during the dawn. They have a huge arsenal of clearly distinguishable single caws, funny sighs or nervous screams that often evolved to a huge cluster of noises that became stronger when the church bells began to ring and the sun came up.

All takes are recorded in Mid-Side stereo, with Sennheiser MKH-70 shotgun for a strong mid-signal and AKG-C394B for the ambience. The total playing time of the library is approx. 1h 30min.

Recordist Stephan Marche captured more than 1.5 hours of sounds of single crows and swarms. They were recorded both evenings and mornings, as they were going about their crowy business in a group of trees - and the library features some fine of their advanced communication abilities.

Cinematic Hits & Transitions 2

  • SoundBits “Cinematic Hits & Transitions 2“ description:

The Cinematic Hits and Transitions 2 sound effects library from SoundBits delivers 222 cinematic, epic, heavy, impacts and hits – ranging from very deep, earthshaking hits, to brutally distorted and mangled impacts. Some are dry, some with extra huge reverbs, others get you an instant attack while some come with a build-up for that extra tension. Lots of starts and tails of the sounds can be combined with each other to give you even more.

But that’s not all. There are also 111 scary, haunting, unsettling and weird transitions and movements that instantly give you goosbumps and add that extra suspense for your productions. Lots of new sounds were recorded and got merged with existing SoundBits | Sound Effects. This fusion got mangled, crushed, edited and designed to create this cinematic experience.

SoundBits' second edition of this library is now available on A Sound Effect, so you can find that perfect hard-hitting cinematic impact. This library contains deep, haunting punches with massive and complex reverb, as well as swift distorted attacks, punches that build with tension, and transitions that whisk you away in anxiety.

  • Cinematic & Trailer Sound Effects Abandoned Oil Tank Play Track 327 sounds included $40

On a recording trip to the smaller Danish port town Struer, I came across an abandoned empty oil tank. Inside I found two giant wires attached to the floor and the ceiling of the tank, almost like a huge 2 stringed double bass. I’m telling you the reverb in there was longer than the Eiffel Tower on a cloudless day !

On the outside this was just an empty abandoned building, but it turned out it was not empty at all because it was full of sound and a few dead birds. I’m glad I was curious enough to go inside for a closer investigation and not just pass by.

After several hours of concentrated recording, it was nice to get my ears back out in dry air. I’m happy there are no open sends to Valhalla in real life but experiencing the eternal resonance on the low frequencies from the wires was absolutely amazing.

Abandoned Oil Tank was recorded with a LOM basic Ucho stereo pair, a Zoom H6 and the LOM Geofon. All files are in 96 kHz/24 bit and contain the original recordings.

The result is a unique sound effect library including balloon pop impulse responses from a truly unique location that very recently became even more unique since word says that the oil tank is no more and has abandoned this world.

327 individual sounds – all tagged with Universal Category System (UCS) metadata.

Then we go through welders, plasma spheres, 3D printers, starting to cover a more broad technology theme – like old phones, telegraphs, dynamo wheels, rotary dials, whirling watchers, alarm, lab centrifuges, something scientists call a roller and a rocker, servo sounds, neon lights, a wimshurst machine and sparklers.

Many sounds in this section were captured from vintage equipment, from a 1928’s tram to old telephone switchboards, high voltage levers and control surfaces.

All content was recorded at 192KHz with a Sanken CO100K, a couple of Sennheiser 8040 and a Neumann 81i, translating into final assets that have plenty of ultrasonic content, ready for the most extreme manipulation.

THE WORLD’S EASIEST WAY TO GET INDEPENDENT SOUND EFFECTS:

A Sound Effect gives you easy access to an absolutely huge sound effects catalog from a myriad of independent sound creators, all covered by one license agreement - a few highlights:

  • Door Sound Effects Noisy Doors Play Track 44 sounds included $10

This library contains recordings of eleven different types of doors specifically chosen for their interesting sound. • Metal Sound Effects MetalMotion Play Track 2000+ sounds included, 239 mins total $110

MetalMotion is a sound design construction kit that contains four hours of moving metal mayhem: clicks and clanks, rolls and drags, wronks and squeals, scrapes and rattles, ranging from from tiny to monstrous. Nathan Moody’s unique performances with unusual combinations of props produce everything from Foley-like movements to intense groans and howls.

Whether you’re covering a robot’s movements, sweetening weapon Foley, making crafting or pick-up sounds in a game, placing unusual layers beneath a kaiju’s roar, or crushing a submarine with undersea pressure, this collection covers the full range of subtle to raucous. Each file has many performance variations for creative choice and game audio asset creation.

While there are some tasty impacts within, this library’s true focus is on characterful movements: handling, rummaging, opens, closes, ratchets, swirls, rolls, drags, drops, spins, rubs, zuzzes, and bows. Metal containers, filing cabinets, modern appliances, vintage (and very rusty) tools, cymbals, bells, grills, plates, bars, rods, and tubes, and many other props lent their voices to this collection.

This UCS-compliant library was recorded with a combination of standard, contact, and ultrasonic-capable microphones through Millennia preamps. Sample rates vary based on the amount of ultrasonic content in each file. The audio files are mastered for realism, ready for extreme processing and pitch shifting of your own, but still useful in more grounded contexts.

    About Pottery Workshop
