In this mid-week recap, we have ambiences, cars, weapons, and a friendly android. You can hear the dark hums and disturbances of urban nights, peaceful early mornings on a farm, the bustling soundscapes of Athens and Crete, and rowdy fun in popular London pubs. You can also hear the roaring engines and passbys of German cars, distant designed explosions, a huge collection of magical powers, and a friendly little robot who just wants to get to know you. There is plenty to explore, so get a-listening!

Athens & Crete

The team at C O L O S S A L decided to take a break and head West after recording Greece for a pint at the 'London Pubs'. They recorded ambiences of local taverns where extroverts spent their nights watching football, participating in trivia night, chatting in the biergarten, getting a little loud and rowdy, and more. These hours of recordings are clean of copyrighted music and also include two perspectives from the binaural quad set up. Whether you need nightly chatter or the roar of drunken sports fans, you won't find a library more complete than this!

Volkswagen Golf V 1.6 FSI

Volkswagen Golf V 1.6 FSI is a small sound effects library featuring the engine recorded onboard (engine/exhaust/drivers cabin in sync) and exterior passes. Regular driving, accelerations, reverse, engine on/idle/off, rpm ramps (recorded with microphones onboard), and exterior perspective covering passes with different speeds, stopping and reverse sound effects. Recorded with a Sound Devices 702, Zoom F8, Rode NTG3, two Sennheisers 8040 and two DPAs 4061 microphones.

Soundholder recorded a good ol' mid-2000s 'Volkswagen Golf V 1.6 FSI' to give you recognizable car sounds for lifelike characteristics in your sound design. There may be sound generators out there that offer smooth RPM transitions and whatnot, but do they give you hefty noises from every part of the engine and body as the vehicle barrels down the road? This library also includes reversing, passbys, tire squeals, interior recordings, and plenty more for over an hour of material. As Soundholder has shown us before, they know cars, so give this one a listen!

BMW F12 640D Gran Coupe

Car Sound Effects BMW F12 640D Gran Coupe Play Track 119 sounds included, 179 mins total $45

Get the sounds of a BMW F12 640D with a twin turbo 313HP diesel engine. The recordings covers different driving sound effects like regular driving, accelerations, reverse, engine on/idle/stop. In addition to engine recorded onboard (two microphones under the hood, exhaust and interior in sync) there are exterior passes covering different speeds, from 30 up to 180 kmph, stopping, driving away slowly and fast, reverse. Last but not least there are a few foley files as a bonus. The whole library was recorded with Sound Devices 702, Zoom F8, 2x Sennheisers MKH 8040 and 2x DPAs 4061.

Over 375 sounds of creaking materials, including breaking cables, ropes under tension and about to split, wires and strings under stress, metal friction causing tension.
