NYU/BMI TV Scoring Workshop
June 17 - June 28
Led by Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, Feud), Nathan Barr (The Americans, True Blood), and Blake Neely (Arrow, Riverdale) — and featuring industry guests such as composer Peter Nashel (Marco Polo, Incorporated), Chad Fischer (Scandal, Garden State), and music editor Tass Filipos (The Americans, The Departed) and more — the NYU/BMI Television Scoring Workshop will immerse you in all aspects of scoring for television. This 12-day workshop will give you the real-life experiences of how to be creative with limited resources, interface with key players of post production teams, and successfully deliver on-time in high-pressure situations and under short deadlines. Over the course of the workshop, you’ll receive professional instruction how to:
Streamline your creative process
Create professional mock-ups and final mixes
Work within the confines of the TV ‘work week’
Get the most out of your sample libraries
Sweeten scores with 1-2 live musicians
Work with showrunners, music editors, and producers
As a participant, your work will be critiqued by top composers in the field, NYU’s acclaimed Scoring for Film and Multimedia faculty, and you will record and mix your music with the top industry professionals of New York City.
