FIG Talks 2018

January 20 @ 09:00 - 17:00 EST

On January 20th, 2018, we will host FIG Talks for our third annual conference event at the MIT Stata Center. FIG Talks is intended to be a platform for independent designers and developers to share and showcase with one another their learnings in order to foster community, teach valuable lessons, and start dynamic conversations in the independent game creator space about how and why we create games.

The event will feature three main tracks, Game Design, Game Development and Game Business. We are hoping for a wide mix of topics from all different sides of game creation– not just digital games but also tabletop, live action, and experimental game forms, since we believe that all game creation is valuable and can create engaging experiences.

This event is aimed at designers and developers, and for people who are interested in getting started creating games of their own. We expect 200+ game creators across many mediums to attend as well as give talks on a wide variety of topics surrounding game creation. In 2017 we had over 250 attendees and 30+ speakers.

Sorry, but we already have priced our tickets at the lowest price we can to provide the day’s meals, shirts, and venue space, so we cannot offer any student discounts. If you’re interested in volunteering, email us at
What to Expect

  • Drones & Moods Telepathy Play Track 28 sounds included, 97 mins total $18 $9

Created using only a 1975 Fender Telecaster through a 1975 Fender Princeton Reverb (and some effect wizardry), Telepathy is SkewSound’s first drone/mood library.

Creator Steve Pardo paints an ethereal soundscape in this collection of eleven unique pieces. Telepathy will set an ominous, otherworldly mood to whatever you are creating, and we’ve included stems to some of the tracks so you can re-work to your heart’s content. It’s up to you with SkewSound’s Telepathy library.
