Burma – Ancient Ruins
September 12, 2017 - September 22, 2017$1050
The Burma – Ancient Ruins expedition starts in Mandalay and makes its way south to Yangon, stopping in the Bagan Archaelogical Zone to explore the ruined temples. Each location includes a recording session of traditional musicians, and there are also many opportunities for making field recordings along the way.
The cost for participation is $1050 US per person, and includes all transport and accommodation, and some meals (when provided as part of the accommodation), from the arrival of the participant in Mandalay on the 12th of September until the departure of the participant from Yangon on the 22nd of September.
These are highly educational expeditions that include a number of advanced lectures along the way on microphone theory, microphone choice and placement, digital audio. I have been teaching audio at a degree and masters level in colleges in Australia for decades; when I describe these lectures as ‘advanced’ I mean that they go beyond what is taught in most audio schools, and what is found in most text books. With over 35 years of audio engineering experience, and over 30 years of educational experience, I’m no stranger to simplifying complex concepts.
Since 2004 I have taken over 80 people on my expeditions; mostly audio students, but also industry professionals, musicians and composers. For further reference, the Testimonials section of the website has over 40 testimonials from previous expedition participants.
